Hi all,

I got my new XPS 15 9550 2 days ago. Everything went fine at first but tonight when coming back home the laptop won't turn on. I tried the following (both with AC adaptor plugged in or not)

If I press power button the battery status lights blinks 4 times white and é times orange repeatedly.

I tried pressing power button for one minute - nothing.

Pressing Fn key and power button - then the keyboard lights turn on for about 5 seconds then turn off, and same blinking of the battery status lights as described above.

Any idea what to do ? Dell technical support doesn't seem to work on week end...

1. First of all I'm sorry for the English , I do not speak the language

2. This failure occurred on a new computer I bought two days ago

I read all your manuals for this problem and still not solved the problem.

This problem occurred when I was asked by your support software to install a new driver in BIOS.
(ver.1.2.2)

The failure occurred immediately after booting.

what should I do?

Hi I have an XPS 13 running on Windows 10.

My touchpad will freeze up every time I walk away from it for more than 10-15 minutes and the only way to unlock it is to reboot the computer.

Also, when it has gone to sleep and I wake it back up, it will not accept my PIN password. I have to reboot to sign in.

Anybody know how to fix this? I am getting very frustrated with what seemed to be a wonderful machine!

I had a dell engineer come to fix my laptop as it was overheating and he replaced parts for me.

He fixed the issue of overheating. But now I have found that I am unable to plug my headphones into the headphone jack and there is a rattling noise inside the laptop when I move it. (like a piece has fallen off)

I've been searching for a number to call dell premium support from Ireland. The old number (used just before christmas last year) 1850 434 334 that was open Monday-Saturday 8am-8pm doesn't seem to work any more and any other number seems to only be Monday-Friday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have recently purchased dell Dell Inspiron Core i7 - (16 GB/2 TB HDD/Windows 10/4 GB
Graphics) 5559 Notebook. I do not see power LED. I cant figure out if my laptop is on or off

There seems to be something on top of Power button located on top right corner. But its never ON.

Is there any problem with laptop hardware?

So I've had my Dell Inspiron for about a year now. The other day, I tried turning it on, and it brought up only a black screen telling me to try reseating the hard drive. I figured I was supposed to take out and put back in the hard drive. After doing this twice, the screen keeps coming up. I would love to be able to use my computer again. Am I doing anything wrong? I still have a warranty for a week. Would that help with this situation? I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3541

Hi there,

I have an Inspiron 5758, 18 months old (out of warranty of course). I was using it just regularly, it was not specially hot, on a glass surface (so not electrical not particularly prone to overheating). It had been on for perhaps a few minutes at the most. The screen just shot black - not BSOD (blue screen of death) or any error message.

I tried turning it back on. I followed to 30 sec without battery/plug in (to drain static) and all those easy fix standard procedure. To no avail.

When I push the power button, the keyboard's backlit lights up & the led (the one in front with a battery sign - there's only one on the 5758) lights up. About a second, a little less, then nothing happens. The power button itself doesn't have a led (I never noticed it - at least now nothing comes out of it). There's no color on the led in front - just the regular white light. Everything is always the same regardless of whether it's plugged in, or just on battery. I have never really noticed anything weird before - though I do remember one time (not sure how long ago - weeks/months) where it did shut down randomly on me. I wasn't sure at the time if it shut down by itself or not - then I ran the diags & all that jazz and nothing came up. So I had just assumed it was some freak even or random software bug.

I've been digging around and some people mentioned motherboards/CPU thermal paste failing, and the laptop having safety mechanism to prevent it from turning on to prevent damage. I have to say I'm not really up to par with regards to hardware. So, if you were to try to diagnose/debug this hardware issue, with the above as a starting point, how would you go on about it? I'm willing to open it up (I have, though without moving anything yet) as it's out of warranty anyways... I've been looking for tutorials & such but have to admit I'm a bit out of my league and not even sure where to start....

This has gone from bad to worse. I think when I was installing update my computer froze Maybe? Long story short I did a diagnostic scan and it came out fine and I said reboot. So I push to reboot button and then nothing happened. Back and forth back and forth. Probably stupid but I went in and clicked on the hardware password button and put in a password and now that comes up which it never did before. So I probably made it worse? So this is been going on since last night. Sometimes I'm able to get the F2 and F12 to come up and sometimes not. Also I've noticed for the most part the fourth light comes on so this is just the whole disaster please help thank you Trish

I have the dell inspiron 7548 laptop and I was wondering if i could possibly change the function of the charging light. Maybe have it turn off at night or something.... or if the laptop lid is closed it can gradually turn on and off to show that the laptop is sleeping, stuff like that. Is there any possible code or software that I can utilize to modify the function

I have received my new Dell Inspiron 11 3168 2 in 1 last month. From the very 1st day, the touch screen on the top row of 1 -1.5cm is not responding to touch. Touch screen apart from this area is responding well. The problem is I can not use the laptop as a tablet as the top row is not responding to touch and I could not click minimize, close and tab buttons as those buttons are in the top most row. Initially I thought it should be like this but I came to know it should not. Please help me.

Dell 15R 5520 Issue - 7 Beeps - Doesn't start every time

My Dell 15R 5520 Laptop only starts up sporadically. When I can get it to start up, it functions properly. Sometimes I can even restart it successfully.

The rest of the startup attempts (75%) result in the buttons above the keyboard lighting up and then going dark followed by 7 beeps.

After some research, the seven beeps indicates a CPU issue.

So far, I've done the following, without resolution.

-Ran System Restore back to before the latest Windows update.

-Ran the startup diagnostics (no errors found)

-Reseated the processor chip and replaced the thermal compound

-Reseated the memory chips, as well as replaced them

-Tried a different power adapter

I'm stumped since I cannot identify the specific problem, and since the problem isn't consistent.

Any suggestions/advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 and yesterday the Dell Update application notified me of a BIOS update. I didn't think it could be so much of a problem (unfortunately) so I run the update and followed the on screen instruction. I don't know if the update went through or not, but after that whenever I try to boot Windows I am greeted by a "MEMORY MANAGEMENT" BSOD.

I have tried flashing different BIOS versions (every single one found on the Dell support page for my machine) and while the update goes well it doesn't solve the problem. I have also tried to reinstall Windows and I am able to get it to boot if I choose the 32 bit installation but only 1.89GB out of 8GB are usable. If I choose the 64bit installation (the one I had originally) I can't even get to the desktop. Dell Diagnostic tool finds no error and neither Memtest86 (4 passes run, now I am trying with 10). Any idea how I could solve this problem? Thank you in advance

I bought Dell inspiron laptop 5559 6th gen. Core i7 and when I push the power button it shows dell logo then it turns off and then I again push the button and thats when it starts properly.

What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't start on the first push on power button. Is it normal? Should I be worried?

Hi,

I got a new xps 15 - 9550 4 days ago. The wireless does not work, and ever since I've been trying to get it to work. I've done all the suggestions on the internet (disable WMM, enable ip flushing via regedit & flush ip / winsock, disable power saving on the wireless card, disable netbios, add new protocol(reliable multicast)), none of them helped. I then purchased the usb-c adapter and tried the ethernet, but it does not even recognize there is an ethernet connection. I then tried the wireless, bios and thunderbolt driver updates on the dell website (sent them using my macbook via bluetooth), but they didn't help either.

When I try win10 troubleshooting, it says "one or more network protocols are missing on this computer"

Please help, I'm about to lose my mind, it's been 4 days :/

Dell 7559 Two questions

Good afternoon!

I bought the new gaming laptop Dell Inspiron 7559 with the service tag JJXL1D2. This laptop didn't have windows, only ubuntu. Yesterday I checked BIOS, I left my choice on Legacy between Legacy and UEFI and windows 10 Pro was installed by myself from usb. After installation of OS I downloaded all drivers, included for BIOS and that's all were installed.

After all this full inspection was carried out (40 minutes) and noone problem didn't find. What's a problem? After reboot of my laptop and shut down and start my mouse Razer Naga is not working. I disconnected it and connect again and it working. After each reboot my USB are not working. BIOS returned to default settings, USB wake support and USB debug are enabled. What's a problem? Is it problem with new driver for BIOS?

And also the second question: I installed Dell Power manager lite. Is it help for battery to save in good condition my batteru automatically or I must to do something? I like to play games and my laptop will be connected to the electrical power everytime.
