Hello all, recently my computer died on me and gave me the beep codes with a black screen and no startup. I had 5 beeps and saw that I would need to replace the cmos battery, in which I replaced. However, the laptop flashes a blue screen immediately after the Windows starting logo appears and reboots the laptop. I have tried running in safe mode but that did not work either. Another thing I tried was running Windows startup recovery but that found nothing. Any help is wanted thanks

XPS 13 9343 - Frequent boot issues
Let me start by first saying that I have checked numerous avenues to resolve my issue: latest driver updates, latest Windows updates (Windows 10), latest BIOS update, and diagnostics utilities. Nothing seems to make a difference, and the Dell diagnostics detects no problems.
With that out of the way, onto the issue...
A user at my company has an XPS 13 9343 (as per the title obviously). Sometimes (admittedly not all of the time but enough for it to be a nuisance) the laptop does not boot from cold or restart correctly. Instead, we're greeted by a small message in the upper left corner that says "No bootable devices found", with various options to remediate: F1 to retry, F2 to enter setup, and F5 to run diagnostics. As mentioned in my opening, running the diagnostics seems to complete without any concerns.
Reading about, including on these here forums, it seems this particular model of XPS has a history of SSD-related problems, particularly with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, and the solution was always to have the drive replaced. The Hynix 512GB is a notable theme, which is the drive installed in our XPS 13. Some kind of compatibility issue perhaps. Either way, it's annoying and there doesn't seem to be a fix for it. The firmware for the drive is also up-to-date after running the Hynix firmware utility.
I'm at a loss quite frankly. The only troubleshooting steps I haven't explored are 1) opening the laptop up and checking the connection, and 2) replacing the SSD. Both things I'm hesitant to try while the laptop is still within warranty, which brings me onto my next point...
...I would ideally like the laptop shipped off to be looked at by Dell Technical Support, as I have seen a couple of threads where users have reported success after the fact.

Dell Inspiron 15z Ultrabook 3 beeps black screen all of a sudden!?!
Hello,
I purchased a brand new 15z ultrabook dell inspiron laptop 2-3years ago and only used the laptop for college and have taken really good care of it.
Yesterday, my computer wouldn't go past the dell logo screen because it was fixing the caches.
Today, i turn my laptop on and its fullu black screen with 3 beeps. I have tried resetting the laptop already.
Just very frustrated i pay 1 thousand bucks for a laptop and it dies so easily. Never will buy another Dell.
Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

- Will they be available again?

Samsung 950 pro 256gb m2 pcie nvme working @ x2 instead x4 pcie link width. Dell E7270
Yesterday I installed a Samsung 950 pro 256gb m2 pcie nvme ssd into a Dell E7270
Older configuration was with a sandisk regular sata 3 ssd. After replacement did a bios reset twice, once factory reset, once custom. (I left sata on ahci.)
I chose to install windows 10 pro x64 by using the uefi/gpt methode. Legacy options off.
Installation went without a problem. Afterwards I installed the Samsung nvme driver 1.4.7.17.
Also the Samsung magician software. It reports a link speed 8Gbps (is ok), link width 16 Gbps (should be 32?) .
Is there a way to change the pcie link width from 2x to 4x? I thought this ultrabook did support x4.

UEFI Network Boot options missing on 7450 with BIOS A13
After upgrading a lattitude 7450 laptop to the latest BIOS, A13, both the IPv4 and IPv6 boot loader are missing when wanting to perfrom a UEFI network boot, Encountered this on all 7450 with BIOS A13. The enable UEFI network stack check box is checked as it was. Any idea where these options went? It is not possible to perfrom UEFI network boot anymore we wanting to reimage it.
The only solution we found around it is to downgrade the BIOS to A12, and then they are back.
Is this a miss from Dell? Cant image they did this on purpose.

Screen Comes and Goes
I am facing an issue in my Dell N5010 laptop. The screen is coming black on start, and when I press the button "D" and power switch for some times , it comes back with initially showing different colors in screen. But after 1 or 2 days again while starting my laptop it comes as a black screen. No beep nothing, and system starts with fan running, only no display. And it is happening with me since last 1 month.
Sometimes it makes 8 beeps, when I press the Fn key with power button to go for dell diagnostics.
Can help me anyone find the right permanent solution.

QUESTION: Dell INSPIRON 13 5368 WHY Wont it power up after closing lid in sleep mode overnight??
I have owned this laptop 2 Days. Was a gift from my mom.
Here is the issue:
The PC is running windows 10 home:
When I received the PC I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update.
I set it up. That said I began installing some of my apps.
I set my POWER SETTINGS to have the Computer go into SLEEP mode when I close the lid.
OK. I did that on my way home from My Meeting where I used it for over 2 hours.
When I opened the laptop when I got home NOTHING...Hit the Power switch...NOTHING...
Finally....I tried holding the power switch and the VOLUME switch and it FINALLY started up in DIAGNOSTIC MODE.
It says these tests would take 4 hours?? EXIT FAST: IT was already 11pm [:O]....The computer restarted....OK...that's good.
Went to support page and had it check MEMORY, HARD DRIVE and Processor: ALL GOOD.
INSTALLED software to customize DRIVER installation to what needed to be updated:
Graphics driver and Chipset Driver installed. Great...
Tried the laptop...restarted, closed the lid--opened it....instant on WOOHOO....
NEXT:
Closed the lid and WENT to BED.
This morning OPENED THE LID NOTHING....NO STAR UP. Push Power button...NOTHING
HOLD power button: NOTHING....PLUG IN... Let it sit.....push power button NOTHING...
Then: a few minutes more...Started FINALLY.
QUESTION: WHY Doesn't the computer start after a LONG sleep? WEIRD.
I thought the advantage of windows 10 was instant on??
Start Splaining: SOMEONE please or this is going back.

Dell Xps 13 2015 P54G refurbished will not boot up...
I have a dell laptop I got about a month ago. Everything had been working perfectly fine and it always turned on... But this morning I tried turning it on and all that happens are the LED lights (power button and under the touch pad) will light up for maybe 5 seconds and then they both fade out. It was working perfectly fine last night. Now a habit of mine is to not actually turn the computer off but just shut it and put it away, so this might have something to do with it... I assumed it just died and I needed to plug it in. I did some research and I took the back cover off and unplugged the battery so I could reset it. I drained the battery and then plugged it back into the motherboard. Still did the same thing. Then I unplugged the battery again and plugged the laptop directly into the wall cord, and it did the same thing. I'm kind of stumped. I don't know if it has something to do with the memory, the motherboard, or what.
Anyways, all help is very appreciated thank you so much!!!

Dell XPS 15 9550 Blue Screen
I just got this new Dell XPS 15 9550 2 days ago (10-Aug-16) and it has already crashed 4 times with blue screen.
After the first BSOD, I thought it was due to outdated drivers. But then I updated all drivers to latest including updated BIOS. Then I ran a system diagnostic test from the Dell support page. Second BSOD occurred while running diagnostics. Today I just turned on the computer and it crashed with BSOD while just sitting idle. The I ran a second diagnostic test. This time, the diagnostics ran successfully except two.
Integrated Webcam Edge Detection Test Failed
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M Block Move Test Cannot RunThe BSOD were CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION.
The system just seems so unstable to do anything serious on it..
Is this laptop worth keeping or should I just return it? How does the 9550 work for others?

Inspiron 17R 5720 Changing boot options?
I want to reformat and install windows 10 on my grandmothers laptop.
However, there appears to be no way for me to get into the bios to modify the boot options.
F12 is the only option on start up, and that just shows the following Boot Options
UEFI BOOT:
Windows Boot Manager
Windows Boot Manger
+Network Boot
OTHER OPTIONS:
(Nothing appears here)
F2 DOES NOT bring up a bios menu, I cannot reiterate enough that it does absolutely nothing. (Almost everything I have looked up for this keeps responding with pressing F2 on startup).

And tried doing the first part but nothing seems to happen (the reboot power down cycle on start up) After 2-3 times it just goes to the login screen.

XPS 15 9550 randomly crashes when moved
My XPS 15 will randomly crash to a black screen with the backlight and keyboard still lit. Caps lock key doesn't work when this happens either which indicates to me that the entire system has crashed and not just the screen. This usually happens when the laptop is moved. Sometimes instead of a completely black screen, I get small blue bars covering the screen. After a crash like this, the laptop often won't boot back up after I force a shutdown. Usually, the battery light blinks 3 times white and then 3 times orange for about 30 seconds. I have to let the laptop sit for a few minutes before I can boot it back up.
I've installed all of the latest drivers and bios from Dell's website, but nothing has helped.

Need to Upgrade RAM for XPS L501x

I purchased my Dell L501x on 2nd August 2011. It came with 3GB Ram. Now I find an urgent need to upgrade my RAM to 8GB (maximum possible RAM supported by the motherboard) so I could work on my thesis smoothly which requires heavy simulations on MATLAB. I have tried several RAM with the laptop and I have found none compatible with the motherboard. My university IT support was also confused. I just got this xps 13 (9350) developer version with pre-installed ubuntu 14.04.
When I resume, it gave me an error "suspend/failure" error. What goes wrong here?

Inspiron Laptop Power Connector Size
Does anyone know the power connector size on new Dell Inspiron 15 series 3000 laptops? Older Inspiron laptops used a 7.4 mm x 5.0 mm connector size. The new one I have, which is a model 3225, is much smaller.

Alienware 13 r2 issues
So just last night when I went to sleep, I put my laptop to sleep. When I woke up the pc looked like it had been damaged. But that's not the case, or I don't think so.
But anyway, it would not turn on.
But now by some MIRACLE, the power button is glowing. And I believe its still asleep but, I can't wake it up by hard reset. Nor is it a display issue.
So yeah, Having some issues. Any solutions?

I need some help!
My Dell Inspiron 3537,which is almost 3 years old is overheating!
I am facing the overheating problems for a long time!The laptop's fans were cleaned,and the thermal paste for the CPU and GPU was also repasted,Yesterday by the technicians from the autorized service for my laptop.
But the laptop is overheating again,the region of the keyboard is very hot,the fans are working with 3900 RPM's!
I have tried SpeedFan,HW Monitor,HW Info,OpenHardware Monitor,RealTemp,CoreTemp and all of them show me temps about 57-63 degrees Celsius,and please mention that these temps are shown while the system is idle,and I am using a coolingpad;if I turn off the coolingpad the laptop gets hotter and hotter!And the ambient temperature is approximately of 27-28 degrees Celsius!
I am very scared that something bad could happen to the mainboard and the CPU too!
The technicians say that they had done everything they could,because the laptop's hardware passes all of the diagnostics tests!
It passes all of the onboard diagnostic tests,and all of the diagnostics tests from the Dell support page!
I am really afraid of playing some "heavy" game like GTA V,because I think that it would warm the hardware parts!
So please tell me,how can I test the hardware personally if everything is all right with it and are the temps of the CPU of 58-63 degrees ,while the system is idle normal(plus I am using a cooling pad!)
then how can I fix this problem ,and is there a possibillity to play game like GTA V,under these conditions!
