Whenever I shut my computer off there is a single beep. It happens on the blue screen that says shutting down. It started to happen after I factory reset my computer. My computer is still able to turn on and function properly, but it does seem slower overall. I have tried to find more information about the beeping but everything I can find is about Alienwares beeping when turned on. From another post I saw that a single beep could be a BIOS ROM checksum failure, but once again that post had to do with beeping while powering up. I can't seem to find any clear answers so I came here. If it isn't something to worry about I apologize for wasting your time. Thank you.

alienware wifi keeps dropping since windows 10 upgrade
Hi
My M17 is constantly dropping out since upgrading to windows 10,i have since rolled back to 7 and it works fine. However i prefer 10 so i keep going back,it starts off every now and then and gradually gets worse untill as of now it wont work at all.
Its fine when i plug an ethernet cable in.
Is there anything i can do as i dont really want to go back to 7 as i used to have BSOS problems which i have never had with 10

Inspiron 5559 Battery not charging when plugged in.
Suddenly my battery is not charging when I'm plugged in. Laptop is 8 month old Inspiron 15 5559.
The problem seems to've started when I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on 8/2/2016. Battery is at 81%, I'm plugged in but it's not charging. In an effort to resolve the problem I went to the Dell Power Manager and changed the setting from Adaptive to Custom, then set it to start charging when at or below 90% and stop charging at 99%, but that didn't help. I rebooted and checked again but again no help.
What can be done to resolve this?

Stuck on Dell splash screen - 15R 7520
Hello everyone,
I have a Dell 15R 7520 for a while now and it always worked great until a few days back it started giving me a blue screen error "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". After that it would sometimes got stuck on the dell splash screen but a quick reset would make it boot again normally. I updated all the drivers I could find to see if it would get better but didnt work.
This problem was getting worse and worse until one day I got another blue screen error "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED". After that it rarelly boots and usually just stay stuck on the Dell splash screen. Also when booting it does a lot of beeping sounds (more than 4) and something that seems like HD or disc reading (that is no disk inserted)
I have already tried a few thing from this forum:
* Unplug all power sources and battery, hold down the power button and reboot.
* Change a BIOS setting from SMART Intel Boot (something like that) to AHCI and then back.
* Reseat the memory
But its getting really hard to retry anything because when its stuck in the splash screen i can`t even access the BIOS.
I would really appreciate any help =D

Broken right hinge
This same exact thing happened to my same model. As an analyst, I would say the exact same problem occurring with multiple issues on the same exact product is considered a 'trend'. Dell, please contact me. I have been dealing with this problem for probably 6 months now. I am not going to wait over 4 hours on hold with multiple division to get a trouble ticket submitted to have my laptop sent in an fixed.

Boot not possible after BIOS update
Hi, I recently bought a Inspiron 5000 series laptop and because the touchpad control was simply awful I did a check for updates and updated. The update included a BIOS update so I plugged in the laptop and ran the update. When It rebooted it failed. All I see is a boot failure:
Realtek PCIe family controller error. Media Test failure UNDI. No boot device found.
I couldn't do a safe boot but when I tried to bypass the legacy boot and boot UEFI it will boot.
I'm pretty unhappy that a BIOS update (version 1.1.9 was the old version and 1.2.2 was the new) caused this. The laptop is only 4 weeks old so I want to get this resolved.
Anything I should do?

I just got this computer, but the fingerprint scanner does not work. It seems not to have a driver, and I suspect that the Windows 7 was loaded by our IT folks.

DELL INSPIRON 5547 POPS OPEN AT THE RIGHT JOINT
My Dell Inspiron 5547 laptop popped open at the right joint after months of squeaky sound. At first the dell service centre did not entertain me saying 'we donot cover hardware problems' dell customer care also didnot respond too well. And now my warranty has expired. WHAT DO I DO? Dell XPS 13 QHD video playback issues
Hi. I bought the above laptop two days ago and since then I've been unable to play online videos (youtube, bbc, etc). The video freezes on the first frame. If I move the cursor along it shows the subsequent frames but will not play. In addition. I'm also getting lots of 'website is not responding' issues, again mainly with sites hosting videos. I've got flash player installed, but still the same issues continue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dell XPS 13 9333 screen fade since Windows 10 Pro Anniversary upgrade
Since upgrading Windows 10 Pro to with the Anniversary update my screen sort of changes tint from light to a sort of yellow tint... The image stays clear and does not flicker... I think I have seen this before due to Windows/Intel trying to adjust the brightness of the display to save power - although this might not be the cause of my problem... Things were perfect before the anniversary update, anyone else seen this? Thanks, Peter

i was use my laptop normally and turn off then today turn on but doesn't work normally just screen on and black screen then i tried restart the lap couple of times and get logo windows but stuck on it 15 min and restart again !! so i can't do anything ! so press F12 and open hardware diagnostics everything good but face problem with HARD DISK but i have work on C partition so all what i could do open safe mode and it's work and finally i could copy my file from C to other one ... then reinstall windows and now working good but now do hardware diagnostics again and found ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB ATA Device Targeted Read Test Failed ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB ATA Device SMART Short Self Test Failed ! so what's problem or how i can solve it ?

Hinge and Fan issue Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559 NOT HAPPY ATM
I have a Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559. It is 5 months old. The left hinge started clicking and now everytime my computer opens the computer is starting to come apart. I have the premium warrenty. I have called 3 times today and talked to different people. I have been disconnected 3 times with no one calling me back. They say that the hinges are not covered under warrenty. It hasn't been dropped or mistreated. I have been a dell customer for over 15 years so i'm not sure why they are giving me a hard time or not calling me back. Also while gaming my fan is running super hot.
Does anyone have any suggestions or a number I should call to get actual decent help.

XPS 15 L502X Win10 . Touchpad Issue, Left click always sends clicked signal WEIRD Problem
Hi so my Windows 10 XPS L502X touchpad has started behaving weirdly. I believe this is because of some Windows 10 updates, I am not sure.
The problem is that since laptop starts the left click seems to be sending clicked signal forever. Because of this on boot, the mouse starts in selection mode, I need to press the left click on an external mouse to disengage selection mode. But still the left click and tap to left click dont work.
But the weird part is when I change right touch pad button to left click behavior in settings. Then even the right button would now stop working. And if I change the left click button behavior to anything else then left click behavior then left click starts working too.
Hence coming to the conclusion that its a driver issue and not hardware problem.
However when I boot my laptop in Ubuntu, the left click is again in clicked mode and starts selecting stuff. Now if this was a driver problem then why is Ubuntu showing same issue. Is this a Hardware problem now.
Now since dell officially does not support Win 10 on L502x. I request my fellow L502x owners using Windows 10 to share their driver details. And if anyone from Dell can share their thoughts.

Laptop battery life best practices?
Till now, I have always had laptops where I could remove the battery completely. Every time I know I am going to be using my laptop as a "desktop replacement", when I know my laptop is going to stay stationary at my desk for long periods of time, I have always removed the battery and had my charger plugged in.
I just got a Precision 5510, and it has an internal battery. How do I maximize the life of it? I keep it at a desk most of the time, and occasionally use it on the flight, at airports etc where I truly use it as a laptop. Is it ok to keep it plugged in and at 100% all the time? Should I keep cycling it between 80% and 20% constantly?
Anyone have any recommendations for how I should be handling the battery? I am basically worried about it losing its capacity as a result of a higher temperature from constantly keeping it charged and at 100%.

Inspiron 5737 occasional boot failure
Hello,
I hada problem with booting that has happened three times so far, there was about a month between each instance.
The notebook remained in the DELL loading screen for a few minutes, then an error screen popped up saying essentially that there was a problem and it will restart itself, the reason was inaccessible_boot_device. Searching on the internet did not help, neither command prompt nor anything else was working (for example I could not even do the reset to factory settings). Later it booted again and after some time the problem was back. I gave it to a friend who fixes notebooks and he told me about chipset problems (controller or something) and that he has fixed it.
About a month later it started again, but after several attempts it got back and I had another month or so before the last instance so far.
BIOS can see the HDD and the only common thing in all those instances is that all of them have happened after a new Win 10 update came out. After installing the 30% before switching off, the next attempt to turn on the PC comes up with this. Then after several tries it starts working again and the update finishes.
Does anyone have an idea about the possible problem?

DELL Latitude E5450 blank screen after dell logo start up
Hi,
Greetings!
I would like to ask for your assistance because I'm already out of ideas how to resolve this issue. Right after I powered up the laptop, it will get past the DELL logo screen, then it will be completely just black screen. I wouldn't even hear any activity from the CPU fan, HDD and pressing the Caps Lock doesn't lit up the LED. The LED indicators on the side are only displaying the power indicator, but none for HDD, Battery and Wireless.
Here are the steps that I have done so far:
1) Removed the HDD and Battery, then press & hold the power button for at least 45-60 seconds to disperse the internal voltage. Then attach the Battery, but not the HDD.
2) Press and hold Fn and then the Power button, hoping to boot me up to the ePSA Diagnostic Utility
3) Press F2 or F12 while booting up
4) Re-seat the memory and also clean with a dry tissue
These are the procedures that I have done but nothing has changed. It still displays blank screen right after the DELL logo.
