I recently bought a 2nd hand Vostro 3750 and needed to upgrade memory as I run Virtual Box with Several VMS in my daily operations.

Here are my successful test results

Hi, I have a dell Inspiron 15 3558 laptop and I have noticed that upon pressing the power button to switch on my laptop, at first the dell logo appears after a second the logo disapears and after another second the dell logo comes back and then the spinner icon at the bottom shows up. After that windows(I have installed windows 10) starts up normally.

               This has started to happen from a few days ago and until now I haven't found any solution for it. Why is this happening and how to fix this?

My Dell Inspirion 3148 (Intel i3) laptop's certain keys are not functioning, I have updated all the drivers now what can be done?

performed all steps as asked by agent here....

but still the issue

I would like to know which are the normal working temperatures for the Intel i7-4500u and the AMD Radeon 8850M graphics card of the Dell Inspiron 3537,while normal working, and while playing games with huge CPU and GPU usage?

And which are the normal RPMs of the fans?

And which is the most reliable and precise program which could show me theirs temps (and the fans RPMs)?

15 5000 laptop.   Started BIOS download. It got part way through and locked up.  Now I cannot do anything.   HELP!

I've read the posts and answers on upgrading RAM for my 3551, but I'm not sure if mine is compatible to upgrade to an 8 meg stick.  I listed the processor specs below.  Does anyone know if an 8 meg upgrade will work?

I was trying to download drivers from the website where they are usually available, but they are not shown. It says "The product you’ve selected does not have or require updates."

I just bought my 9550 (i7, 1Tb SSD, 16Gb RAM, 4K touchscreen) a couple weeks ago. Ran all the Windows updates but still was having quirky issues, including the fan problems mentioned here. But I forgot to go to the Dell support site and install and run the Hardware Detect to get the latest drivers and BIOS.

I installed the latest BIOS (released July 5) and the two chipset drivers that it recommended. The Dell support app had not suggested these. Now everything seems to be running better, and the fan spin-up has stopped.

So moral of the story: don't rely on the Help & Support app. Go to the Dell site in software and downloads and run the system detect.

I'm glad I didn't buy this system last fall when it came out. All the bugs must have been infuriating!

For quite some time now i am having a problem with my battery not charging.

My laptop model is "DELL INSPIRON 15R SE 7520" running "Windows 8.1".

Sometimes when i Switch ON my laptop i receive an error saying
"WARNING: The battery cannot be identified. The system will be unable to charge this battery.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility."
And when i press F1 computer starts normally but it doesn't take the charge from the adapter.

And sometimes it would just start normally without any warning. It accepts the charging and everything goes well.

THINGS I HAVE TRIED:

1. Purchased a new battery "DELL ORIGINAL 6 CELL Li-Ion Battery".(old one was a 4 CELL battery).
2. Tried using 2-3 different adapters of the same model but no luck.
3. Tried using 2-3 different batteries(all 6 CELL as no 4 CELL battery is available in the market nearby). This too didn't work.
4. Tried removing the battery and using computer with only power adapter connected. Doesn't give any message and worked properly.
5. Tried using laptop with only battery having some charge in it. Gives the warning on startup. And won't charge if adapter is connected(shows plugged in,not charging).
6. Tried updating the BIOS driver.
7. Running hardware diagnostics when receiving the warning at startup gives:
   Error Code- 2000-0132
   Validation- 115087
   Msg: Battery- The battery is reaching end of its usable life.
8. Running hardware diagnostics when no warning appears at startup give:
   All tests passed.

So, can anyone suggest what might be the problem?
Or what else can i try to fix this issue?

Hi! I'm new here and I need some help! Yesterday I bought a manufacturer refurbished Dell Inspiration  14 (5447) and I found 2 small problems so far.

The first one: The laptop magically turns off. I mean it looks like it turns off but actually goes into sleep mode/standby when I try to move it somewhere. For example: If I put the laptop on my lap - the screen goes black. Now I can't do anything but to press the power button so I can turn the laptop back on. But wait! I have to stay still and not move the laptop in order to do so. No matter where I put the laptop. It goes into sleep/standby mode. Even I hold it in the air and move a little - BAM! Yesterday was ok but today the laptop started to turn off more often.

The second problem: This morning I noticed that when I turn the laptop on a message appears saying: "Checking media: Fail" or something like that then the laptop restarts. It does that 2-3 times before the laptop finally boots. It never happend before! 

Any sollutions ? Advice? Thank you so much! The laptops looks like is in warranty until 2018.

Laptop config:

i5 4210u@ 1.70Ghz

4gb Ram

Graphic card : Radeon R7 M260 2gb

My Dell Inspiron 1545 has been sitting for a while, and when I went to plug it it and try to use it, it would not turn on. All I got is a pulsing power light like when it's in sleep.

I recently replaced the battery as well as the charger, because the original battery was shot and the charger was in horrible shape. I also replaced the power jack a while back because the pins inside were bent and the laptop got no power.

I had successfully used the laptop for a while after replacing these parts, but now it won't turn on. Whether I'm on battery, AC power, or both, it only flashes/pulses when I press the power button. If I hold the power button, it will shut off.

What's wrong here? I have checked and re-seated both memory modules, also testing both slots and nothing changed.

Hi have dell studio 1558 running Windows 7 just repairs and went through large update the other night. Now it won't boot. It stops very early so can't even get to f2 or f12 to change the boot or run diagnostics. Holding fn button on power up does nothing either. Have also tried unplugging everything and getting rid of static power. Dell logo comes up and bar gets three quarters way though an  then stops. I can push fn 2 n fn 12 they highlight in bottom right corner but do nothing. Only button that does anything is esc button which changes screen and stays fn 2 is loading but again nothing happens. Key point is their is a continuous quiet beeping which sounds like it comes from hard drive. It's quiet and goes for ages at about one beep a second. Does this mean hard drive dead or can check anything  when computer stops so early.

After receiving my XPS 15 9550 about six weeks ago I immediately activated BitLocker w/TPM. That was working fine until about one week ago; I was suddenly prompted for the BL Recovery Key after having had the laptop shut down for about 24 hrs.   

Consecutive reboots kept asking for the recovery key. Eventually I tried suspending the BL protection. Upon trying to resume it I got the error message that "no TPM security device was found on on this computer". And sure enough: The TPM had been set as a "hidden device" under Device Manager, trying to re-enable it led to the same error message. Furthermore I was unable to find any mention of TPM in the BIOS.

No hardware changes or BIOS upgrades had been performed when this problem occurred. 

I just now tried to upgrade from BIOS version 1.2.0 to 1.2.2 (latest), but with no luck - the TPM is still missing from the BIOS. I've also tried to restore to factory settings, but with the same result.

Recently i have started facing issues with system startup on my 5 yr old dell xps l502x laptop.My laptop sometimes starts with just  blank black screen with fan running at very high speed,The same time if i power it down and restart the system again it hangs up while showing dell logo loading screen, On powering it down  and restarting the system again it hangs after i enter my account password with just the timer running and nothing happening.When i restart my system again(by pressing the power button) finally i'm able to see my desktop.Please help me out with this,I'm having some serious hard time logging into my system.

Hi to all,

I would like to know which are the normal operating temperatures of the  Intel I7-4500u and the AMD Radeon 8850M --- the CPU and the GPU of my Dell Inspiron 3537?

And which are the normal temperatures of these CPU and GPU while playing games with huge usage of these CPU and GPU?

I would also like to know which is the normal range of the speed of the fans,while normal working on the laptop , and while playing games with huse usage  use of these CPU and GPU?

And which is the most reliable program for monitoring the CPU's and GPU's temps and speed of the fans?(SpeedFan or HWiNFO64 Program or MSI Afterburner for an eg. ??)

Please someone answer to me!

Hi Everyone

My laptop is running normaly. One day, I reset default password of Bios. Then, when I start laptop, a screen of password required appear as picture in attachment.

I have no password to put it in, so could anybody can help me this case to remove password, or pass through this screen?

Hi,

I have problem with Windows 7 boot on my laptop Dell 15 7550
I added the usb 3.0 drivers to boot usb flashdisk, switched booting on Legasy mode and during instalation changed GPT HDD section to MBR ( used diskpart - clean). Instalation was OK bud if the computer booting for first time, the windows can not boot. Cursor is flashing for a moment and then reboot and over and over again.

The win10 in UEFI mode worked fine.

Could anyone help me with this, please?

The cable which connects the flat screen inside my ultrabook came out. I am having difficulty trying to reconnect the cable. It appears the edge connector is soldered in place making it impossible to reconnect the cable.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

I have Inspiron 5548 (15 5000 series). Since few days, it is experiencing an over-heating problem. It remains hot to touch at areas around number pad. A quick google search suggested a BIOS diagnostic test. I did that diagnostic test in the BIOS and results show everything is working fine except very high temperatures. Strange thing is that temperatures cross 80 degree Centigrades within few seconds of usage. This is really annoying. I wonder what is causing this serge in temperatures even with mild usage.

Please suggest what measures I can take to reduce this heating problem.
