Recovery of System password
I have upgrade my system to windows 10
Then my admin password has been changed
I have entered f2 and enabled HDD etc
After that my system asking to enter system password
<SERVICE TAG AND ALL OTHER PERSONAL INFO REMOVED BY ADMIN>
Please get me out of this problem

System Transfer
Hi there. I am a newbie in computer science. I have a nice Precision M4500 and recently I bought a Latitude E6420 as an emergency backup for M4500. I like m4500 pretty much. Very fast good workstation. But it is getting old (relatively) and recently I have created full system back-up and a system repair disk. Now I would like to transfer full system, or at least installed software, from my Precision M4500 to my Latitude E6420. M4500 has I7 processor, 1 gig video card, 4 gig memory, windows7 PROFESSIONAL-32bit, The latitude has I5 processor, 500mb video card, 4 gig memory, windows7 PROFESSIONAL-32bit. Computers are manufactured at about same year, 2012 or 2013 and purchased refurbished from Dell. Please, could some computer guru here guide me on the process and options. I pretty much interested in software. The soft is old but I got used to it and setup discs are damaged. I have read about zinstall and pcmover but may be it is possible to transfer system between similar computers without them. The problem I expecting could be Windows product key. In the battery compartment it is a label and it is different for each computer.

Studio 1745 CPU and RAM upgrade questions
Hi. I recently bought a used Studio 1745 to replace my Studio 1735. When I bought it, it had an Pentium Dual Core T4300 CPU, which I upgraded to a Core 2 Duo T9300.
I was looking at upgrading the RAM, and trying to find out which speed is supported, and that had led me on to some other queries.
The current RAM is PC3-10600, so 1333MHz (666Mhz Dual rate). Some other threads on this forum, and on cpu-upgrade.com suggest that the chipset supports a bus speed of 1066MHz. but when I look for RAM on the Crucial site for the model of laptop I have, it recommends PC3-12800, so 1600MHz (800MHz Dual Rate)
So my questions;
Can someone tell me if the 1066MHz bus speed is supported, as the official manual only states that the RAM speed support is 1066/1333MHz.
If 1066MHz bus speed is supported, then I should be able to fit a Core 2 Duo P9700?
What RAM speed would be supported?

wifi problem
Hi i am using Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series. My laptop is unable to connect to my phone over Wifi . Neither my phone nor my laptop is able to detect each other. But my laptop is able to connect to hotspot created by my phone.

Warning message when I start the computer
I bought a dell inspiron 15-3552 two months ago but three days ago every time i turn on my laptop there is this warning message " WARNING: the battery is not recommended for this system, the system will be unable to charge this battery." I already check if the battery and plug are working and everything seems ok except for the fact that i'm still receiving this message. What should i do?

XPS 13 2016 (9350) SSD Toshiba 512GB speed - very slow

Dell XPS 13 Touch 2016 (9350), 13.3" 3200x1800, i7-6560U, Iris 540, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe Toshiba SSD.
And having really big troubles with SSD speed. It is not faster then 840MB/s :( when it should be around 2000MB/s :

Dell N5050 and windows 10
I have the Dell Inspiron N5050 and want to install Windows 10.
BUT............
On their site the statement says....
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product.
If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.
We buy Dell thinking they are the best, this is very disappointing. Any ideas what to do?

Update the Service Tag on Inspiron 1564 .
I just received a Dell Inspiron Service tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> (Showed on the label on the Base) when I connected to the support web and try to autodetect the unit give me an error and went to the Bios and I realized that the service tag information show blank.
How I can set the Service Tag on the motherboard? I also realize that I can not change the boot order saying that the BIOS user psw has been set but never asked me to enter the psw like other dell laptops with the Bios Administrator psw set up.

What are the specs for an inspiron 11 3000 touch panel?
Myself and others have been on a mission to find a stylus that works with this 2 in 1 and so far not having a lot of luck. The squishy tip stylus I had for my phone doesn't work. One of those somewhat new metal stylus with the little round disk on the end works great on my phone but not on the inspiron with or without a screen protector. I had a motorola active stylus with a battery that someone suggested, it only works intermiittingly but I guess the fact that it works at all should give me some hope. What are the specs for the touch screen on the 3135? I have read that a heavy cover like glass can affect whether stylus work or not as well as screen protectors. I've found a couple of stylus that claim to have adjustable power output so they should work through screen protectors and glass coverings. Gosin universal digital pen, overdrive adjustable and navitech are all supposed to be active stylus that have two power settings. I've asked in the faq but no one can say if it works on the inspiron and the manufacturer says they haven't tested it either. While I hate spending 30 bucks on anything like this without knowing 100 percent that it will work, I ordered one of the navitech off amazon because I will be able to return it if I want to. I have poured over everything I can find about this machine but nowhere does anyone give any details on the touch screen. I know this isn't intended to be a artist drawing pad or anything but the simple ability to interact with small buttons on the screen or the occasional digital signature or simple hand drawing are the big reasons I want a small tipped stylus. Don't get me wrong I am really enjoying this machine but I don't get why the hardware specs for the touch panel seem to be such a deep dark tech mystery. Perhaps it's because Dell has more than one supplier...I guess that could be as good a reason as any other. Even if we can only talk basic generalities that's probably more than what I've found thus far.

Hi,
I have an Insiron 5555. about 6 months old.
A strange thing has just happened (well twice now)
I was working away when I noticed that it had changed from AC power to Battery, even though it is still plugged in to mains power. I don't understand why.
Last time this happened, I resolved it by removing the battery pack, and putting it back in.
But why is this happening??

My computer won't start and make beeping noises

I have a dell inspiration 14z with windows 10
I cleaned it up with a cleaning tool (Glary utilities) and turned it off.
When I turned it on the next day windows wouldn't start and asked me if I wanted to restore,b it it would not go through. So I turned it off again.
Later I turned it on again and it wouldn't start, it just keeps beeping.
Can anyone help me please!?

Battery does not charge when plugged in
I have a Inspiron 17R SE-7720. The battery is no longer charging, even when it is plugged in with the AC adapter that came with the laptop. The blue light on the plug is on when the adapter is plugged in. Unfortunately the battery is now completely dead, so I am no longer able to turn the laptop on. Before the battery died, I checked the BIOS and noted that it was not registering the AC adapter. Not sure where to go next with this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

USB 3.0 port not working?
Hi, my laptop model is Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520 and I'm using the latest Windows 10 Pro. Yesterday, I tried to use my pen drive supported USB 3.0 to my laptop. When I plugged in to my laptop, I can't acess to my pen drive but I can see the pen drive notification inside my icon. Then I clicked the icon, I can't safety remove the pen drive. Therefore, I forced to remove the pen drive. If I'm not wrong, all my USB port are 3.0 and one of the USB port come with PowerShare. Why my laptop come with USB 3.0 unsupported pen drive come with USB 3.0?

XPS 15 9530 won't power on
Hi all,
My XPS 9530 has been having problems for a while now - at first I thought it was just driver issues, since the biggest symptoms were that it wouldn't wake up from sleep properly (it would blue screen and need ro be rebooted), and would take an abnormaly long time to boot for an ssd.
Now, however, the problems have gotten more serious. It won't power on when the power cord is plugged in. I tried updating all the drivers and resetting the system to no avail. Now it won't even turn on.
Looking through the forums it seems that other people have had these problems too; however everyone has either returned their laptops or never updated their posts. I was wondering if anyone has successfully repaired thesee problems? Unfortunately I waited too long and my warranty expired; and on a student budget I cant afford to pay for an expensive repair only to find it didn't work.

XPS 15 9550 random hard drive not found
I have a xps 15 9550 with a 1TB harddrive yesterday morning when I powered it up the dell diagnostic tool loaded and gave me a 'no hard drive error'.
After some google I found that a possible solution is to reset your hard drive by pulling it out. I did that and a bios update and all worked fine for 1 day.
Today the pc frozen with IO error, I had to restarted it the led flashed orange and white for a wile and then when it booted the same issue again, no 'hard drive found'.
I've tried removing and putting the drive back in, that did not solved the issue.
When I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in after ~30s it worked, I've dono this twice now at it seems to make it work for about 8 hours.
What could be the reason for such odd behavior?↧
