Ok I am kind of new to all this so please have a heart and refrain from making me look stupid cause i might make it easy by being a easy target . I have a dell laptop latitude d820 and my goodness it was / is slow . I mean so slow mail might be more practical using lets say the pony express so i do mean slow. Then if anyone could be kind and can help me get it to have better performance i would really be grateful. That is not the main problem, due to it being so slow, i searched , read and saw its a good idea to reformat the entire thing and that i did. I followed direction per windows tutorials and made a back up disk to reboot from. I then formatted the thing clearing it back to its virginity state and proceeded to boot from back up disk. I was informed i needed to authenticate my version of windows 7 so i used the key located on the bottom of my dell. It acted like it was going through and by that i mean it was taking forever and then eventually came back saying i could not use that key for my version of windows 7 pro. I dont have the money to just go buy a new one and it wont let me authenticate this version . Please someone, anyone help me out here . To top it all off its even slower so it seems . Any education or enlightenment will be very welcomed and well received . Thanks and hope to hear all the things i need to bring this dell back to its working state.

Wireless disables itself over time
Ok. I've got a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559 running Windows 10. Like many others, I experience the wireless card up and disables itself after a while. First it says "limited connectivity" and then just disables itself. All attempts to re-enable it fail and the only thing that can be done is a reboot. While the problem does take a while to manifest, it predictably does. I'm running a game that continuously streams data from the server so it's not an idle-hardware issue.
And yes, I searched the forums already. I've petitioned the great god of the internet; Google. I updated the drivers. I updated the firmware. I've updated the OS. I disabled power management of the wireless card. All of this to no avail.
The diagnosis-tree used by the front-line Dell support phone/chat operators doesn't have a solution. And given how frequently this occurs and on how many different Dell models, it seems unlikely that "Your particular laptop is broken" (the final answer from the script-drones and their diagnosis tree) and that this is more of a systemic issue.
Dell? Any ideas beyond the ones mentioned here?
I'd be glad to work with a technician - a real one please, not a script-drone - to resolve this, though as I said, it does take a like 10 minutes or more before the issue appears.

Dell Latitude XT3 - supported CPUs
Hi
I thought about upgrading CPU in my XT3. It officially supports only Sandy Bridge Intel Core processors, however, chipset supports also Ivy Bridge processors, for example Intel Core i7-3612QE is confirmed to work. Obviously, CPU support is also BIOS dependent and here is the question - is there any confirmed information about Ivy Bridge support in XT3?

Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Touch Screen!?!? GPU Upgrade? CPU Possible Bottleneck?
Gday all.
Just curious on 2 upgrades. I am looking to see if a Touch Screen is available and/or if the GPU is upgradeable. I notice that my Ram/CPU usage isnt fully used when I play games but my GPU is.
I play games such as CS:GO (Counterstrike Global Offense), Rust and rocket league. They dont run too badly, but I'd prefer a better frame rate.
I currently am using a Dell Inspiron 15" 5000 Series laptop.
Specs:
- i7 6500U 2.5Ghz, 2.6Ghz turbo
- 8Gb Ram (DDR3 I believe, speed im unsure of)
- R5 M335
- Windows 10 64-Bit

I do believe the model is a 5559 however not too sure, as for some reason it doenst describe it on the box etc....

Battery Temporarily Disabled
Anyone plz solve this issue, I have dell i3 3521, i did repair my windows and after this my battery is temporarily disabled, orange light is blinking instead of white, i also unplug battery and charger again and again someone suggest. but still facing this problem.

Dell precision m4700 Bluetooth problem windows 10
Hi! After Windows 10 update I cannot use Bluetooth on my precision m 4700. Led indicator always off now. I checked BIOS setting - it's ok, but when I try to install driver from dell.com site it sais "activate Bluetooth using wireless switch". But wireless switch didn't activate Bluetooth. Please help.
p.s. I don't have "Bluetooth devices" section in device manager.

I have 15.10 working great. It took a lot of work to get it working this good.
When trying to upgrade my kernel to 4.5, it was unbootable. That's why I'm hesitant.

new laptop
I have had Dell computers since mid 1990’s, and recently bought a new Dell laptop. I trusted their products and quality control. However my latest purchase has now shown me that Dell has lost respect for the customer, along w/ lacking quality control. I bought a new Dell laptop expecting it to run when i received it. IT DIDNT. I tried it again and again. It kept saying "hard drive error" and "hard drive not installed." It was frustrating to receive a supposed new laptop that didn’t work. I gave Dell the benefit of the doubt when they said they would repair it. It irked me however that i bought and paid for a new laptop that was NEVER USED BY ME AND NEEDED REPAIR? So i sent it back hoping it was just a simple error. I received it the 2nd time (still unrepaired and w/ same problem!) Really?? So now I don't want to keep it. After 2x coming to me not working, i want a refund and deserve it.Dell now is saying it is beyond the return period, even though they know its never worked for me.I have discussed this issue w/ a tech, and my family, and they all agree i deserve a refund. I am 69+ widow living in rural area on sm SS income. I only wanted a new Dell laptop. I am sad and disappointed.

Latitude 5430 won't boot up
Dell Latitude 5430, out of warranty. The power light comes on, but it never goes anywhere. No beeping, no Dell logo. It is receiving power but I don't think it is seeing the hard drive. On powerup, hard drive light comes on once for a split second, and then it remains off. I have tried removing battery, pushing power button, reinstalling battery, no luck. I have pressed the Fn key with power button, nothing.
No beeping, no boot, the screen stays just black, but power is on. Please help.

Inspiron 13 Out of Warranty, Boot Configuration Data crash
Hi, I need help please.
My Dell Inspiron 13 running on Win 8.1 has a blue screen crash on startup with the message along the lines of Boot Configuration Data missing etc. I learn from this https://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/19/SLN287103/EN post that I need to basically recover from a separate boot cd or drive, but i procrastinated on making one while my laptop was still OK. Then I hit a snag with trying to make one via downloading according to instruction here http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN130027 because apparently my warranty had expired and because of that It wouldn’t allow me to download and make a USB Key… (Really, Dell, why? Why not just give consumers a boot cd/usb key in the first place?)
What can I do?

Latitude E7450, cannot activate TPM
I have a new E7450 with the latest A12 BIOS, but I cannot activate TPM. The setting is available and not greyed out, I can set it to Activated and press apply, but after restarting and then going back into the BIOS, the setting switches back to Deactivated.
My colleague with the same laptop but an older BIOS, A08, can activate without a problem. I tried reverting to the same BIOS but it made no difference.
I have also tried Dell Command Configure, but it won't Activate TM either.
Any suggestions?

My laptop want to turn on!!

I have dell inspiron 15R 5537.. first the system randomly shuts down, this issue occur when I use internet or watching movie or do anything in my laptop, my lap able to work before system shuts down maybe for an hour or 2.
The error occur when I was using Battery or AC Adpater or (both).
I updated the BIOS version and cleaned airvent but also I was get the problem.. Then I bought Laptop fan and put it under my Laptop its worked good for 2 days.. and suddenly It's shutdown and don't want to work again for 3 days !!
The power LED comes on when I press the power button and the color of power LED is white..
What can I do?

Latitude E6430 Whitelist?
I wanted to upgrade the WiFi card in my E6430 to one supporting Bluetooth and 802.11 AC WiFi. I was wondering if the BIOS has a whitelist preventing me from installing a non-Dell WiFi card.
I'm thinking of the AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352.

Cannot boot from USB Inspiron 15
I have made many bootable USB sticks to boot into linux. I have used unetbootin, pendrive and rufus to make bootable USB drives with linux installed. NOTHING WORKS. The usb drives will boot on other computers but not on my Dell. I have tried going to boot options F12 and changing things in there but so far nothing works.
