Dell Inspiron 7548 Screen Issue

Hello, I have had my Dell Inspiron 15 7548 since last July and I have just now noticed this screen issue. It is a white spot on the left-middle  area of the screen that looks almost like a smear. It looks almost like some sort of backlight bleed. It is very distracting for me and discourages me from using this laptop. Is there any way to fix this? If it requires me sending my laptop in for repair will it be covered by my warranty (that's still active until this october)? Thanks.


Alienware LCD screen

I have a 1 year old Alienware 17 R2 that has a broken/problematic LCD screen -- the colors are faded and there are violet spots all over.  I'm sure that this is a hardware issue (LCD screen) because when I connect it on an external monitor/TV, the display is okay.

My laptop is still covered by the warranty.  I purchased this in the US and moved it here in PH -- where I am based.  

How do I get support or claim warranty?  I've already did the "transfer of ownership" online, contacted several Dell Support channels (including the one in India), but I've been passed from one to another without getting help.

Who do I need to call or email so that someone can help me?

 CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ?? 

MY COMPUTER WAS AFFECTED BY VIRUS SO I HAD TO RECOVER THE WINDOWS 10 . INORDERE TO TAKE CARE OF THE BIRSU COMPLETELY I TRIED TO REMOVE ENTIRE FILES IN THE COMPUTER AND ALSO TO CLEAN THE DRIVE AS WELL. BUT NOW IN EVERY BOOT A WINDOWS APPEARS TELLING ME TO CHANGE T HE TPM(TRUSTED PLATFORM MODULE SETTINGS). WHAT WILL I DO ??? PLEASE HELP ME ??? 

Temperature Issue (problem) with Dell Studio 1458

Dear Community,

I've bought a Dell laptop back in 2010 when i was in USA. Laptop parametars were the following:

Dell Studio 1458 with i7 Q720 1.6 Ghz CPU, 

AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series, 

ST9500420AS 500 GB HDD on AdvSMART,

2 x 4 GB RAM DDR3. 

and etc.

Two times per year (usually every six months) i'm cleaning the dust from the laptop, ( motherboard, fan, etc. ) so far i haven't been changed the thermal compound and pad. However, i did that successfully yesterday (this is not the first time that i'm changing the compund and pads on different laptops) but sadly the problem still remains :( Back in 2014 my charger get fired, and i've to purchase a new one then i've decided to get one from China. (looks the same as previous, and the current and voltages are equial ), and the laptop works perfectly fine until 6 months when i've upgraded my OS from windows 8.1 to windows 10. Then the troubles get started - my CPU temperature is always around ~70 degree ( Celsious ), and when i start some heave softwares it get's up to 100 + degree when the laptop turned off due to high temperature picks. When the problem stars ( 2-3 months ago ), i've decided to clean the laptop, but sadly there isn't too much dust on the fan and monther board as well. Then yesterday i've decided to change the thermal compound and pad, after the change the issue still remains, and the only difference is that my normal temperature drops from 70 to 60 degrees, but then i start those heavy apps then in a mature of 5-10 mins the temperature get's into 100 + degree and laptop switch off automatically. :(

From my perspective i've an issue with currency or os windows 10, or maybe the fan. However, the fan is running perfectly fine when the temperature starts growing, also the fans speed starts growing as well. 

Does any of you have similar issue, or have an idea how to improve the temperature sittuation?

Sorry for the long post, but i want to be as more as precisely and detailed as i can.

The new dell xps 15 is already thunderbolt 3 certified. I would really love to know if Dell have plans to update bios so that we can be able to use the Razor core external gpu

Dell 7559 Power Adapter

So I Noticed my laptop has stopped charging,

"AC Adapter Can Not Be Recognized" I have the Dell 130w power supply plugged in and it refuses to charge

I have tried the dell fix it (take the adapter apart and back in) that has not worked, so i thought hey its the "Dell Power Management" that is stopping my laptop from charging.... WHY can I not disable it??

Dell own bad software is stopping my laptop from detecting its AC cable and the same software is "protecting my laptop" by stopping it from charging.

How do I get a new AC cable or how do I disable the Software? 

Dell XPS 9550 POST UEFI/BIOS Speed

Why is the XPS 9550 POST speed so slow. The amount of time it takes from when you press the power button to when it starts Windows is about 5-7 seconds. This slows the startup time of the laptop significantly! With an SSD a cheaper Acer computer beats this computer to POST by about 3-5 seconds. It takes the Acer about 2 seconds to start booting Windows. I am on the latest BIOS/UEFI as of 24/04/2016 which is 01.02.00. I suspect this could be something to do with fast booting! Please fix this as it would be amazing to have a faster booting computer!

Dell inspiron 1545 charging adapter

Hello,

I am having problems with the battery charging on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

I bought this computer which had a charging issue. It only works on mains power the battery is not charging.

It was thought that the Charging jack board was faulty. This has now been replaced.

I am still having problems.

The mains adapter that came with the laptop was not original Dell.

I have replaced the adapter with an original Dell PA21. The end lead that plugs into the jack has a hexagonal end.

Does anyone know if this is the correct type for this model? Or should I have a round end type? Or does it make no difference?

I can only conclude that the problem lies in the adapter and/or the Dell battery that I think could be dead and may need replacing.

Screen goes fuzzy at random when power cable is not connected ....

Hi,

Since WIN10 upgrade and Clean Install, my laptop screen goes fuzzy when not plugged into mains for no apparent reason. Give it a minute and It might come back to normal. However i have been refreshing the screen options, (Hold Fn and F1), which gets it working ok again.

Plug mains back in and problem seems to go away?

I have two Dell laptops - D430 and i3737.
One has power adapter 19.5V 4.62A, another 19.5V 3.34A.
What will be happen, if I connect D430 to the i3737 power adapter?
And also, what will be happen, if I connect i3737 into the D430 power adapter?

Hi there,

My dell latitude e6230 is not booting. The power and CAP button light up and they go off 14 seconds after pressing power button. The screen is completely blank and I cannot hear any response from CPU fan and internal mechanical hard drive. Would be good if someone here can help to advise the status of my laptop. Thank you very much!!!

Dell 7559 shuts down (blue screen) immediately after unplugging charger

When  I unplug the power cord/charger from the computer when it is running the laptop will BlueScreen and reboot, message when this happens is Kernal_Security_Check_Failure.  Battery is fully charged and showing 100%.  The charger is outputting 19.5V DC.  I also tried another Dell charger I have and the computer does the same thing, bluescreens and reboots??  Ran Dell diagnostics on internet support and everything passes.  Drivers are up to date and it indicates devices are working properly.

Anyone had this happen and how to fix it?

Is this the way DELL Support generally works?

I raised a complaint that my under warranty laptop has some issue. Forget about right action, even after a week I am getting lot of emails saying we will call you to diagnose your issue.

I though DELL support will be good from now I will never recommend anyone DELL laptops if my case is not solved soon.

Intel AC3165 wifi adapter on Inspiron 7559 disconnects repeatedly then works fine for several days until cycle repeats

The Intel AC3165 wifi adapter on my Inspiron 7559 periodically will disconnect every couple of minutes and most the time I have to go through the Disable/Enable route to get it to work.  But then, magically, it will start to work properly and will do so for several days until the problems start again.

I have the latest driver installed (18.33.0.1) and I have turned off the "allow operating system to turn off wifi" switch.  And I have played with other settings until I am blue in the face.

Furthermore, even when the adapter doesn't continually disconnect, it is totally unreliable when switching from one wifi source to another.  Sometimes the change is easy, but many times I have to reboot the computer to make it happen.  Very frustrating.

Inspiron 15 (3542) - Cannot install driver updates - getting errors on execution

I have an Inspiron 15 (3542).  I tried using a new USB 3.0 device and, unfortunately, it's just running at USB 2.0 speeds.  I tried updating the drivers in several different ways - both through Dell and Intel's websites - but every time I got an error message on the install.

I cannot figure out why it says this.  I'm running Windows 10 w/ a SSD.  Aside from that, the computer is the same as when it came off the assembly line.  Here's what I tried to run:

  • I ran the driver diagnostic from Dell's website which told me to install this file: Chipset_Driver_5R99D_WN32_11.0.0.1153_A00.EXE.  That gave me this error: The update installer operation is unsuccessful (note: had screen shot but that post wouldn't go through)
    • This is from the log file: 

      [04/24/16 09:10:01] (DupAPI::Execute): *** Shell Execute Error. System error text = The system cannot find the file specified.
      [04/24/16 09:10:01] (DupAPI::ExecutePayload): *** An unexpected error occured executing SetupME.exe

  • I then tried to install a chipset specifically for Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (from Dell's website): Chipset_Driver_8JF9V_WN_2.5.3.34_A00.EXE.  That gave me this error: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software (note: had screen shot but that post wouldn't go through)

Looking at Device Manager, the USB 3.0 device is a native Microsoft driver.  This is likely the issue, but unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to fix it since the software Dell provides is erroring out.  

Any clues as to the issue or how to resolve it?

I am in desperate need of some help. My laptop, which contains many papers and assignments from college, decided to mess up. It started acting funny shortly after I installed Windows 10, however, it ran normal for a few weeks. It has slowly gotten worse and worse. At first it would be slow to start up and freeze on me. Now it is stuck in a continuous loop of the dell logo. I have tried calling Dell twice, but the only people I can talk to are people half way across the world who don't even speak English. I am not racist, but this is beyond frustrating. Not only could I barely understand them, they didn't help me AT ALL, and then told me I would have to pay for them to run a test on the laptop because it's out of warranty. Dell is a joke, I will definitely be buying a Mac, where at least I can go speak to someone who I can understand, but for now I need to get back into this computer.

dell xps 13 immediately restarts after shut down

Hey,
I bought my new dell xps 13 a month ago at Microsoft store online, and got it with Windows 10.
From the first moment, the laptop won't shutdown. If I try to shut it down, it shuts down and a millisecond after it already restarts.

I've checked the different devices (USB,tuchped etc.) to see that the power management options does not allow them to turn on the computer, and also checked for integrity discrepancies and found none.

What could it be?

Hi,

I am not from the US, but I bought my laptop online (Microsoft Store) while visiting at the US, 
I want to register my product at the dell site so I can transfer the warranty to my home country, but when trying to register the product, I only have a option to feed a US address (which I don't have).

What can I do?

Need recommendation for USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter for Dell XPS 12

I have tried two different USB 3.0 to HDMI adapters on my XPS 12 (touchscreen) laptop; one never worked and the other worked one time. I recently upgraded to Win 10 (and the XPS works fine!). There was a recommendation on Amazon for a Startech adapter, but when I looked at the reviews, one posted about problems with touchscreen computers.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an adapter that will work with my XPS?
