Why Quickset isn't available for 5558 model yet?
Also I have an issue with Intel Video driver version 10.18.14.4029 - picture a bit blurred. With latest driver from intel.com picture is clear.
Touchpad driver 18.1.48.1 ,A00 unstable. Sometimes keyboard and touchpad stops working.

Hey all, I have a Latitude E4310 running Windows 7 with BIOS A04 and I want to upgrade the BIOS to A14. Before I can go to A14 I need to upgrade to A07 and therein lies my problem. I've downloaded A07 a couple of times now but it won't install. Power-cycling doesn't help, trying to run the upgrade from within IE doesn't help, even yelling doesn't help. I checked the Event Log and here's what it's telling me:

I am downloading the upgrade from the Dell web site.
Googling this error doesn't bring up anything that applies to my situation. Any ideas on how to get my BIOS from A04 to A14? One reason I'm trying to do this is that I have an old D630 that Dell says can only run 4 gigs of RAM. I updated its BIOS and now it runs 8 gigs of RAM. I'm hoping to be able to do something similar to my E4310 so my Virtual Box can run one of my server programs that needs 8 gigs all to itself.

Hi I'm new to this community and I recently bought an Alienware 17 R3 laptop, after setting it up everything seemed fine but for some reason, the computer will sometimes randomly restart saying it encountered an error and needs to reboot. Every time the error shown is Bad Pool Header. I've updated all my drivers and software and I'm currently running windows 10. I didn't have this problem at all with my old laptop which also ran windows 10. The error restart is quite random and happens every couple of days. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this please help. Thank you.
Whenever I resume from standby the touchpad isn't working, even after a complete re-start. I have to re-install the drivers. But then the next time when I resume from standby the touchpad again isn't working, including buttons.
I have obviously tried all the following:
- re-configured the whole computer from scratch
- uninstalled and re-installed the touchpad drivers
- tried various drivers
Does anyone face the same issue.
I am on the Dell Inspiron 11 (i3 6th generation with SSD).

I have worked with Dell Support for the past 2 months without any satisfactory resolution to my Dell Laptop issues and now I am asking the forum for assistance.
I am constantly receiving the following message:
Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered
I have performed a wide range of updates/deletions per Dell Support and nothing seems to have worked and Dell is placing blame on Microsoft. I just want Dell to take back this piece of *** laptop that I spent over $2k on with warranty back in August 2015 for my job, because I can't seem to work more than 5 minutes without this error keep popping back up on the screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated before I throw this laptop out the window!

I own 15z 5523. I have freshly installed Windows 8 on HDD. I took out the SSD for some reason unrelated to this problem. My boot mode is UEFI, boot operation is AHCI, secure boot turned on.
The problem is, while restarting the computer usually takes around 20-25seconds, cold start takes up to 3 minutes. When I press the power button, for first 2 minutes all I see is a black screen. Then, after 2 minutes and couple of seconds, dell logo shows up and it takes just a few seconds to get me to desktop.
Those 2 minutes of nothing bother me since I dont know what causes them.
I ran some tests on HDD and RAM, everything OK. Tried Legacy boot mode, ATA operatiom, secure boot turned off, nothing helped.
Few months ago my motherboard was replaced by a new one. Now, the laptop is not in warranty.
Any ideas?

I have a Dell Inspirion M511R, a couple days ago half the keyboard stopped working, and then all of it stopped working and when I boot up the laptop the keyboard can either F2 for the Setup Utility options or F12 for Boot options. That is the only time when the keyboard works, and the next screen is "Launch Startup Repair" or "Start Windows Normally", and I can't select which one so it automatically highlights Launch Startup Repair, and since my mouse or keyboard doesn't work I can't navigate anything else leaving me only being able either do something in the F2/F12 menus in the beginning launch.
How do I fix this? I can't boot up safe mode, or anything. I am completely stuck with this.
So I have had my XPS 13 for a couple months now. Recently I noticed some backlight bleed in the lower left corner. Also there is some uneven backlighting but that is unnoticeable by the naked eye only seen under a camera lense, I dont mind it. The lower left corner bleeding shows at even 25% brightness. The picture below shows the bleeding at 100% brightness, it actually looks worse.
Its really disappointing that there is any bleeding at all on a ultrabook that cost 1500 dollars, I work really hard for my money. Now I was wondering, if Dell would cover this under there warranty. Has anyone dealt with this problem? If so how was Dell able to help, is it worth trying.
If it matters this is the Dell XPS 13 9350-1340SLV Core i5 128GB Signature Edition Laptop. Purchased in Canada at the Mircosoft Store.

I have a Dell laptop that came loaded with Windows 8. I upgraded to Windows 10 and I loved it.
Just the other day a Dell Update popped up so I went ahead and accepted it. After that when my computer started going into the recovery/reboot mode. I had to pull Windows 10 off because it simply wouldn't run. Also noticed the clock was a mess but that's fixed now...
Im back to 8 and it runs fine except when I try to wake the computer. It goes into the recovery screen again and I have to restart the system for it to load right.
I tried to reload 10 but that was a no go.
So my question is what issue may be causing a crash when my computer goes to sleep and on wake up it goes into recovery mode.
when i put my laptop on charge ..touchpad doesnt works properly and when i remove the charger it works perfect.. dont know what is the problem..

I am having problems with installing Windows on this Laptop. I have downloaded the correct drivers and added them to my WDS Image. Image is installed but soon as Windows 7 tries to load it Blue Screens with the following, STOP: 0x0000007b (0XFFFFF880009A97E8, 0XFFFFFFFFc0000034,X0000000000000000)
I then downloaded the Windows 10 drivers and install that image , still Windows failed to load stating a critical system driver is missing, File:\Windows\System32\Drivers\megasas2.sys Error Code : 0xc0000359
In the BIOS I made sure AHCI is set as the SATA Operation.
Any help would be great.

Dell Inspiron 1420 - Vista, it is old one was working perfectly till now.
Issue: the Keys automatically starts typing and performing various keystroke functions, also disabling may keys. Even in BIOS mode key entries were restricted
Solutions tried ( nothing worked):
Disabled the keyboard , used external keyboard USB ( doesn't resolved)
bought new dell keyboard, didn't resolved the issue
Ran in safe mode, issue persist
Formatted to factory default mode, issue persist
Observation: I see multimedia keys always blinking randomly ( can this be multimedia keys, interfacing with keyboard.
I planned to remove it but it was soldered across. please confirm if I shall disable this keyboard ( hardware) as extra step, if Yes shall I remove solder or there is workaround.
Any guidance would be help if any other option to be tried

I have an 18 month old Dell Inspiron 17R service code: <ADMIN NOTE: Express service code removed per privacy policy>
Suddenly, it won't switch on properly. Allow me to explain.
Press the power button, and the power button lights up. The quickset buttons light up one at a time, then all come on, as normal, but the screen stays totally black. No backlight, nothing.
So far, I have tried:
Removed/replaced RAM - with RAM removed when I switch the laptop on I get the 'beep' errors to tell me there is a RAM issue.
Tried the above with/without battery in.
Removed HDD.
COnnected external display and tried changing output source etc.
To no avail. Nothing seems to work. I am confused that the motherboard is reporting the RAM issue, so it can't be the board, can it? Again, I get NO display at all, no BIOS/splash screen etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yesterday my laptop was working properly however it crashed last night and till now I can't properly use it.. The laptop does turn and it will show the dell logo and try to load the operating system which would take at least 30 mins, after that sometimes it will load my desktop then stop responding at all making me unable to do anything at all.. Anyone know what laptop's problem is?
Hi, I've been having a problem with my husband's laptop. Just seemingly out of the blue it can't connect to internet either hard wired or wireless. The modem diagnostic tool gave "Output Code: 1". The Modem Diagnostic cannot detect this Modem Hardware. I downloaded the Conexant Modem Driver suggested for his model/OS/service tag on a memory card from my laptop and installed on his. Then i get an "Error: Driver Installation Failed. Could not find the modem device for this driver. re-install the modem driver". Does anyone know what i am doing wrong here? Any suggestions? I'm able to boot the laptop to the BIOS (F2) and the laptop passes all diagnostics - I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 about 6 months ago and everything has been working great - no issues at all. Then about a month ago the Loud Clicking noise problem started.
Here is my laptop problem > I start by pressing the power-on button - I can hear the fan start - the power and disk LEDs light up - but a second or two later the disk LED goes out and that's when the Loud disk clicking noise begins. I then have to press and hold down the power button until the laptop shuts down. I can hear the fan stop and the disk heads park - then all the LEDs go out. Then I have to start this process all over again [sometimes more than 8 to 10 times] until the laptop finally comes up and allows me to login.
Does anyone know what will fix this problem?

I've bought my Dell Inspiron in November 2015 and and since that time, it crashed many times... Something like 1 or 2 times per use...
My operating system is Windows 10, I already perform a restore of the system and I still have the same issue...
Do you know what can I do ? Do you think that I should send it to the customer service ?

As we all know laptops have higher temperature than PC. My laptop is Inspiron 17R SE 7720 and I had it for nearly 3 years now. As always I been doing some vents cleanings just so temperature do not go too high, when my laptop was under stress temperature went between 90-98. Now when I clean my laptop from dust this time I open bottom case where ram, hard drive is to check if there is no dust, after when I close it and put all back in the place and start the laptop my laptop started to go more slowly as usual and the temperature goes very high when I turn one game on Saint row 4 after few minutes it turn by it self off so temperature went over 110.
What can I do to fix it? I went to get hoover and clean vents again but did not help.
My laptop was stolen. I do not have my service tag but I do have the order number from my purchase. Can someone help me obtain my service tag from this information so that I can provide it to the police?
