I have an older XPS 15z and there is an intermittent problem with the display showing lines on the right and distortion. It happens at random times and not specific to any action or software in use. I took a photo of what it looks like. The lines are actually in motion. Only on screen for a few seconds and then goes away. May happen 1 - 3 times in the course of an hour. Appreciate any ideas on troubleshooting.

XPS 15 Touchpad sensitivity
Hi to all.
I have the new XPS 15 1550 and I have aproblem with the touchpad.
No problem about gestures, but due to the sensibility in the area of the right and left buttons, when I try to "chick" in a button, for example it often moves a bit before I click, and I have to recenter 2 or 3 times.
Is it logical that the area of the right and left buttons is also touch sensitive?
It makes my work very difficult, or maybe I am missing something.

Dell XPS 15 9550: Dell Wireless 1830 driver causing screen flicker and display driver crashing
Greetings,
On my Dell XPS 15 9550 (i7-6700HQ, 4K screen, 512 SSD, Windows 10 Home) I have to have the Dell Wireless 1830 802.11ac device disabled in Device Manager because when it its enabled, it causes my screen to flicker, reset, or never come back, forcing me to hard shut off the machine.
Latest drivers all around, latest EFI/BIOS, and latest Windows Updates.
I know it's the wireless card because everything is fine when I have it disabled (no hiccups from either Intel HD Graphics 530 nor Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M). I've been using a USB WiFi "nubbin" in the meantime.
Any details I've left out I'd be happy to include upon request. Thanks!

I installed all (I think) the new drivers available and ran your full diagnostic test and I doesn’t seem as though there is a problem apart from the fact that the machine takes longer to start up.
Is there a way I can fix this (the error message and the SATA_Array_000 failed) and should I be worried about these?

XPS 17 L702X Power Issue?
Hello, my apologies if this has already been queried, but I couldn't find anything on it!
About two weeks ago I purchased a second-hand XPS 17 L702X laptop. I was thrilled with it. It's a beauty and runs very smoothly. It did have a third party charger with it, but the laptop was demonstrated before my eyes and everything seemed to be running smoothly.
And it does! Mostly. The charger itself works; it fits in firmly and it charges the battery.
This is when the fun begins! When I am in a game or in something otherwise intensive, the charging light flickers white. It's only when in that kind of situation; when just browsing or using an office program everything seems to be fine.
Could it be the charger?
I've had a little look online but there's nothing I can find, I bow to your wisdom Dell Community!

Inspiron 5759 - Left Arrow Combination Up Arrow Not Working in World of Warcraft
New Inspiron 5759 - I updated all drivers. Left Arrow Key in combination with Up Arrow Key (turn left while running) doesnt work in WOW. Right Arrow (right turn while running) functions normally.
Key mappings correct in WOW.
I see there was the exact same issue 7 years ago on a different laptop.
Functions correctly if I plug in an external keyboard.

Where is the support for XPS 1640?
I bought an XPS 1640 in the UK back in August 2009 and I need to access information about it to replace the hard drive as it is about to fail.
I cannot find any details about this machine in the list of support computers nor does it have anything under my computer number that they ask for which appears on the underside of the machine. The machine was registered when I bought it.
Has Dell removed all details regarding this model or is it so old that they no longer provide any support or old documentation for it?
What is their policy regarding old machines?

XPS 13 Print Screen button does not work
I have an XPS 13 with Windows 8.1. If I hit the Print Screen button it does not record the screen. Function + Print Screen puts the computer in Airplane mode. Alt + Print Screen does nothing. Control + Print Screen does nothing. Windows button + Print Screen does nothing. I have tried every key combination I can think of but nothing works.
Normally I use the Snipping Tool as a workaround but I have a specific reason for using the Print Screen. I am trying to record a browser page showing the contents of a drop down list. As soon as I change focus to the Snipping Tool the drop down list closes. Can anyone help?

Latitude 3460 - No Power Light
I just purchased 2 Dell Latitude 3460's and the power light doesn't light up. I have plenty of other newer model Latitudes with the single line back lit power button and they all light up. However these new ones that I just ordered don't light up when they are powered on. Is this normal or did they some how forget to put LED lights behind the buttons.

Installing Windows 10 on mSATA SSD (which was used by IRST)?
Hi,
I have a DELL 7520 SE laptop with a 1TB HDD and a 32GB mSATA SSD used by Intel Rapid Start Technology. Since I moved to Windows 10 I had difficoult times with the IRST due to the fact it is no longer supported by Intel and because of some problems caused by IRST I had to reinstall my computer several times.
I was thinking how to solve this problem, because I could just turn of the IRST and use the main HDD, but obviously I did not want to lose the option to use my SSD as well, so I am asking:
Is it possible to set to AHCI insted of IRST in BIOS, than installing the Windows 10 to the 32GB SSD (I know there is not a lot of space there but it should be just enough) and installing all the programs, files etc on the main 1TB HDD? If yes:
-How to do it exactly?
-What should I definitely considere, take care of?
-Is it possible that later of I would switch the SSD to a bigger, ex. 128GB mSATA ssd?

Inspiron 7559 Touchscreen Issues
I just received my Inspiron 7559 Laptop in the mail yesterday, and it is the 4K Touchscreen model. However, upon setting everything up and attempting to use the touch screen, it's not working. I contacted a Dell support agent whom I gave remote access to try and fix the issue, however he downloaded drivers I already had and was unable to correct the issue as well. Upon running diagnostics, we were stumped to find that everything came back clear and there was apparently no issues with the hardware in ePSA.
Looking under the Device Manager, there is nothing that says touch screen under Human Interface Devices or Universal Serial Bus controllers. I don't know if I am just missing a driver, or if my screen just malfunctioned. I would just really appreciate help on the matter as this is the second laptop I've gotten in a span of two weeks that has an issue that may require sending it back, and I really do not want to have to go through that again.

XPS13 9350 Bluetooth crash after wakinng up
The XPS 13 9350 has all newest drivers and firmware. However, the bluetooth driver crashes every now and then after waking up from sleep. It gives two notifications and then restarts/recovers. The first one is: "This operation is not allowed by the group policy set by your IT administrator.", the second says something like the bluetooth is active but not discoverable. I didn't get the exact wording of the second message, but it happens after the driver recovers. Bluetooth device is not usable during the crash and the recovery.

Dell Inspiron 17R (N7010) 8 beeps, black screen...solid colors holding down 'D'
Hi.
My son uses my old N7010 for college; and, over the past year, I have upgraded the hard drive, the memory chips, the battery, AC adapter & cable and went from Win7 to Win10. I can attest that it has been working perfectly.
Earlier today, he was streaming a video, when the screen went black. When he re-started the laptop, the screen remained black; but, he got a repeating cycle of 8 beeps. He brought it over to me; and, I have already tried removing the AC, the battery, holding the power button for 60 seconds and then replacing battery/AC and power on.
The black screen and 8-beep cycle continued, until I tried booting while holding down the 'D' key. When I did that, the screen showed a cycle of solid colors; then went black again.
Any ideas as to what can/should be done at this point?

In the Inspiron 5458 BIOS there is the possibility to disable switchable graphics.
What would happen if I disabled it? Will the intel the Intel video card be disabled or is it the other way around?

inspiron 1750 lcd cable
I bought a new lcd cable for an inspiron 1750 that has no display on screen, but displays properly when an external monitor is connected to vga port. The display did light up(backlights). Now that I have installed the new cable, the display on laptop doesn't even light up anymore.
My question is, "What's the difference between, or is there a difference between Part# G600T, 0G600T, 50.4CN05.101 and G600T, 0G600T, 50.4CN05.001. My old cable number is the last one, and the one I bought is the first one. Could that be the problem? Please help.
