My Hard Drive is not working anymore without any damage
I have a DELL CORE i5 Model 15 Series 7000 7537. My hard drive is not shown up on laptop, after I traveled. I have tried it in other machines. Another hard drive is working in my laptop. What should I do??? One more thing: This hard drive is spinning when I used it as an external hard drive but system is not recognizing it. I want to recover my data from it. Please guide me what to do???

Can i replace X284G BATTERY WITH RN873 FOR DELL INSPIRON 1525
Hi,
My current Laptop Dell Inspiron 1525 and battery of type X284G
[Rating 11.1 V , 48WH capacity and prid :KR-0Y823G-71766-1B1-B1IS ]. Since current battery needs to replace i have order for X284G battery but i got battery type RN873 [Rating: 11.1 V, Capacity : 56WH and prid: KR-0Y823G-71769-4CR-C81S] .
When i asked replacement 3 times i am getting same RN873 type not X284G.
In caution they mentioned replace only with TYPE:GW240,RN873,GP952. But my current battery type is X284G only.
Can you please suggest me whether i can replace X284G battery with above mentioned RN873 type.

Dell inspiron 7559 15" - Alt and ctrl keys not repeating while being pressed
Greetings,
Ever since I have been using this laptop (which has been for about 3 weeks now) I have been unable to properly use the alt and ctrl keys while playing video games.
The issue is the following : in some instances during a game, pressing the ctrl or alt keys allows me to perform certains moves, and by keeping my finger on them (and that is what is usually happens with other computers), these moves will keep happening. However, on this current laptop, that does not work ; I have to re-press on the ctrl or alt key every time I need to use that specific move.
This, in general, tends to make the gaming experience quite less enjoyable.
Does anybody know of a way to fix this?
Note : This does not happen with other keys.
Note : I have tried playing around the ease of access keyboard options - such as sticky and filter keys, but it has not solve my problem.

Dell Diagnostics Tool stuck on startup
I have a Dell xps l502x with Windows 10. I had restored my computer and saved some files on my backup in the other partition. I tried to find the other partition and changed my startup Hard drive through command prompt. The computer reboot and started in the Dell Diagnostics. Now it wont let me exit and go back to windows. I try to exit and it will restart right back to diagnostics. I tried F12 (it wont give me the option for F8) and it doesnt give me the option to reset. I am stuck and i dont know whT to do. Can someone help me get back to windows.

I cannot log into my new DELL LAPTOP just bought.
I recently bought a DelI Inspirion 15 and it started up with all this data that need to be logged before I can use it . It suggested to load windows 10 which I thought would be helpful but now after it completed . I cannot log in and done recall entering a password for the log in. I hope you can help I only received the Laptop yesterday via couriers and did not have the chance to use it . Dell support line is only available Monday to Friday .

XPS13 Buzzing
My XPS13 seems to have a quiet buzz when scrolling on the touch pad or touch screen. If there is any audio playing through the speakers then this causing interference and crackling through the speakers. If I stop scrolling the crackling stops. So it would seem there is some electrical interference on the board somewhere, possibly in relation to the toucpad/touch screen.
I have read various instance of people having buzzing and coil whine and similar problems on their XPS13. Can anyone confirm what the fix was, was a part replaced, motherboard/touchpad etc?
I have logged it with Dell support and they are going to try change the speakers first although I dont think that is the problem.

Dell XPS 13 9350 Touchpad Issues
Hi,
I've got an XPS 13 9350 with a clean install of Windows 10 on it on Bios 1.2.3. The touchpad has a couple of issues:
1) Bouncy when scrolling. In a web browser, when using two fingers to scroll down, upon releasing the screen jumps back up a bit - occasionally jumps to the top of the page again. This is best described is this post, but with no resolution: 
2) Tap to click sometimes stops working. When this happens if I wiggle a finger on the pad a bit and try again, it starts working again.
3) Click drag releases by itself. More often than not, if I click and hold the button on the touchpad to move a file, it releases before the button is released. Its almost impossible to move emails between folders in outlook due to this behaviour.
Are these common issues? Could I have faulty hardware? I've run the Dell update utility, but apparently my system is up to date.
Any pointers appreciated!

Dell Inspiron 15 keeps freezing
Hi, so, I guess I got this laptop sometime last year and turned it on to find the battery corrupted. I waited and got it fixed, and chalked up the performance issues to running on straight AC power- until the new battery arrived and nothing changed. I ignored it as long as possible but I'm finally fed up with it. Every few minutes, the entire computer locks up and freezes, requiring a manual reset. If the computer behaves and runs for longer than 10 minutes, the WLAN card shuts off and also requires a reset to get it functioning again. I tried Dell tech support, and after he ran all of my internal troubleshooters, finding nothing, and ran my virus program (also finding nothing), he wanted to reinstall windows (and then connection was lost. Oh well.)
I don't know all there is to know about computers, I don't know that much period, but something tells me that when my computer won't stay on for long, reinstalling windows (he's sending me a disk after I insisted the computer won't stay on long enough for a reinstall) isn't going to go very well? Any other suggestions or ideas? I don't know what specs or info to give.

Unable to boot Dell XPS l521x laptop
Hi,
I have recently upgraded my DELL XPS 15 L521x laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 10. After the upgrade it was running fine for 2-3 days until I got the below BCD error during boot-up and not able to start the laptop. Please note that I have created the recovery disc for Windows 8 before the Windows 10 upgrade and have not created any recovery disc for Windows 10.

Memory Upgrade on Dell Inspiron N5040
Hi,
I have an Inspiron N5040 laptop that came with 4gb RAM, i3 proc and Intel HM57. I want to upgrade to 8gb. I have tried 2 different brands of certified memory for the N5040, Kingston and Corsair( Corsair CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9 and Kingston KVR13S9S8K2/8). In ALL cases, after installing the 8gb RAM, the laptop boot and then at some point will simply reboot. Memory test fails after 2s.
The system info from the control panel shows that all 8gb is recognized.
I Installed last bios version, clear CMOS, try just one memory but nothing works
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening ?

After few recent updates (bios also) everything got back to normal speed. However I noticed that McAfee antivirus Real-Time Scanning option gone off and I can't turn it on. Other antivirus options are on...

Latitude E5430 monitor issue
Hello guys,
I have a problem with my laptop.
After I turn it ON, I saw lights at my screen (about 1 sec.), and then - dark screen. But laptop still working.
If I plug additional monitor via VGA cable, or press FN+F8 (switching screen source) - it works perfect.
Are there eny resolution? Maybe BIOS settings?
Bios version: A16, 19.08.2015
PS: I cant to disassemble my laptop and reset bios manually :(

Windows 10 Disabled Dell Recovery Partition
Hello,
I'm trying to do a system restore on an Inspiron N7110 after upgrading to Windows 10. The upgrade went bad a couple months in (not sure how, as it's my friend's computer and I'm just trying to help).
The computer now gives a BAD_CONFIG_SYSTEM_INFO error and will not load further.
Here's what I've done so far:
1. Tried to do a system rollback. No effect.
2. Tried to do a factory restore using F8. I cannot access the recovery partition using F8. Windows 10 eliminated the ability.
3. I pulled out the hard drive and plugged it into another working computer. I copied all the user data off of it and checked the partitions. The restore partition seems to be intact.
Since Windows 10 will not fully load and I cannot access the recovery partition using F8, is there another way I can manually access the recovery partition?

Dell Inspiron 5547 won't turn on after power button shut down
So I woke my laptop up after sleep by opening it, but I forgot it was sleeping so I accidentally pushed the power button. Then it turned of. After that I couldn't turn it back on. I tried plugging in the cable, but only the led is on (indicating that it is charging). I would remove the battery, but this model has it built in, so in order to remove it I would have to open the screws - I still have waranty for at least 5 months - won't opening it void the waranty?
How do I fix this?

Touchpad stopped working
Hi...I booted up my less than 6 month old Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series computer in the morning and the touchpad worked fine. I put the computer to sleep, started it up maybe a half hour later, and the touchpad no longer works. I have a mouse plugged in now. When I did a search on this it said to go into the device manager and look for an update for the touchpad driver. The problem is, the touchpad driver isn't even showing up in the device manager! Only the mouse. I have Windows 10 which I very much dislike. Does anyone have any insight? TIA.

XPS 15 9550 SD card reader stops working after sleep
After a cold boot, I'm able to copy gigabytes of files from a 16GB SD card in the internal card reader, even with many other programs running. But when I put the computer to sleep mode and then wake it up, I'm only able to copy a file or two at a time before I get a "There is not enough memory to complete this operation" error, followed by an automatic dismount and remount of the SD card. The only way to get it working again is a restart. The SD card works fine, as I don't have this issue when using an external SD card reader. There is plenty of memory free (6GB of 16GB). I've reinstalled the card reader driver from Dell.
Any ideas on what to try? Seems like a BIOS or driver issue to me.

Dell xps 12 - 8 beeps
Hi,
I have a Dell xps 12 which has worked fine until I recently took it on a work retreat where it stayed in my bag in a case the whole time because I didn't use it and my bag stayed in my room.
When I got home I went to use it and it just started beeping.. it worked perfectly before this so I'm a little confused. The back light on the keypad lights up but the screen doesn't come on and it beeps I times.
Is there a quick way of fixing this as I still need it for work?
I also still have warranty for LS - hardware and software support. What is this?
