I have been able to install an mSATA card in my M6500 and load Win 7 Pro with the 2 hard drives out of the system. The Crucial card is recognized in the BIOS A10. When I add a drive to the second position, no problem. When I add a drive to the Primary Drive position, the BIOS does not recognize the mSATA card and wants to boot to the primary hard drive. The only options in that case are the 2 spinning drives. Remove the primary drive and all is well. Any suggestions? Running RAID, without a RAID array.

Inspiron Laptop replacement hard drive from Dell - how to recover or boot from partition
My 10 month old inspiron started showing "no bootable device found" at startup. Diagnostics showed hdd not working. I called Dell, they sent me a new hard drive. When I installed it I received the same message "no bootable device found" however in the diagnostics it showed the hdd working.
I called Dell support, but they were useless. I spent an hour talking to some lady who could not understand the system would not boot. She kept asking me to navigate to a web page.
Finally, i plugged the new disk into another computer to see what was on it, or if it was just blank. It seems to have a recovery partition, but I cannot figure out how to access it.
On some sites it says press f8 at the splash screen, but this doesnt work.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Can no longer read SMART data from boot drive - is it about to fail?
I have an Inspiron 7720 with 2 HDDs.
Up till recently I was able to read SMART data from my boot drive (Seagate), but when I checked yesterday using a few utilities, they were unable to get SMART data from the drive.
I can get SMART data from my D drive without any problems.
I have Googled this extensively but haven't found an answer - is the C drive failing? Is there some other way to try to access the SMART data?
I also noticed that the serial number of the C drive is scrambled.
Any help appreciated!

Latitude E5530 two finger scrolling after upgrade to Win 10
After upgrade from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 the two finger scrolling does not function 100% properly anymore.
Sometimes the screen jumps in unexpected direction after lifting the fingers from touchpad, sometimes it zooms in or out instead of scrolling the screen. However, most of the time it works in a correct way. The problem is more frequent on internet sites, scrolling in Office for example it tends to be rather seldom.
All the latest updates of the touchpad drivers are done several times already, but the problem is still there.

XPS 13 L322X freezes when on battery
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been posted before but my XPS 13 from 2013 freezes constantly when running unplugged from the power (battery mode).
What happens is the monitor goes weird and the sound freezes giving an annoying noise.
I believe this started happening when I updated to windows 10, but I'm not sure.
I formated the disc and resintalled everything, which seemed to help for the first couple of days and then everything went back to as it was.
Do you think it's some sort of driver problems?
I'm really upset with this because I bought a top of the line (at the time) laptop and now I can't use it unplugged! :(

Inspiron 15 7537 doesn't start.... looks dead
Two weeks after the end of the guarantee, my laptop refused to start (while I was using it normally few hours before)
Refuse to start means : nothing... really nothing... not even any of the two led in front of the case.
- I tried of course to press the power button a while to empty the electricity...nothing..,
- I tried to remove the battery and place back.... nothing
- I tried with a different charger... nothing
I have disassembled the laptop, I have removed the battery and CMOS battery... nothing... BUT, when I plug the cable, I see one led flashing once very fast (the HDD led).
I am afraid to change any part since I am not sure of the diagnostic. It doesn't look like a motherboard issue.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Inspiron 5559 - broken frame
I bought an Inspiron 5559 laptop just 3 months ago. A few days ago I noticed the top left corner of the LCD frame got broken (plastic, not screen) without me ever dropping or damaging the device in any way. Maybe the hinge was faulty? I was extremely careful with it and I'm 100% positive I never damaged it and only used it as intended.
Anyway since it's a rather new device I called the local service center and the representative told me this isn't covered under warranty and refused to hear my claims, eventually stating that she's going to hung up and well.. she did.
Dell should respect its customers. I expected a lap examination so you could at least check if some internal part was faulty and caused the corner of the frame to crack. This is shameful.

Dell XPS 15 (9550) SLEEP Issue
So, I recently bought a Dell XPS 15 9550 i7 Skylake model, and the problem that bothers me is with the sleep mode. It's the 3rd day when i watch a movie on battery, close the lid with 70% of battery and wake up after 7-8 hours with 5-10 % of battery remaining. IT IS ABSURD !!! I paid a lot of money for this product, and I think this can be solved with a BIOS update. (i have .19 version of BIOS).
Please give me an answer of what I can do, and does anyone else have this problem??

XPS 15 9550 - Touch screen not working
Hi all,
I've just reinstalled my laptop with Windows 10 enterprise edition - build 10586.104. Before this I ran the same OS with not problems. Are the reinstallation touch screen is not working? I've run Diagnostics and all kind of tests without any problems. I've reinstalled several times and ends up the same place. everything else is working perfect but the touch screen.
All drivers including the BIOS version is updated.
Any suggetions?

Dell forum has thousands of participants from worldwide, and i have been a long time user here. But, my experience shows that if a post is done in the wrong forum it will go unnoticed by support & rockstar users here. It may never get answered. I posted an interesting question, but the "Number of views" seems to be empty (in the OS forum). (I do not know if it is a general problem with Dell forum that it is not giving out "Number of views" for each post.) I feel some rockstar experts who follow this forum may not be paying attention to all of dell forums. Anyways......

Page fault in non paged area
Hi, had the fault above appear out of nowhere about five days ago and basically rendered the laptop unusable. Powering off was the only way to get the laptop started again and then quickly there after the fault would reappear. Having a quick google and dell support answers suggested resetting the laptop which has stopped the page fault although I now have a folder of removed apps, some of which I'm unable to restore and in general the laptop's not quite right. Tried registering with Dell support to download the apps but this is just stuck in a loop and not working. Again googled what to do and writing the service tag into the BIOS seems like the answer but this is beyond my abilities. Raised a Dell support request and 5 days later still waiting on a reply. Any advice welcomed. Be warned if it gets too technical I haven't got a clue what you're talking about as I use the laptop to browse the internet and thats about it. Thanks in advance...
