Hey guys,

         So I have an XPS 15 9530 and everything seeeems fine, except for how the battery will drain itself clean in about 2 hours of just opening things like explorer every now and then. And when I play a game like minecraft or something else it's much shorter, around 45 minutes. I have had the laptop for about 3 or 4 months and have barely used it as I have mainly got it for uni, and I haven't had it plugged in charging or something for a long long time, so I'm not sure why the battery does this.

Folks,

My optiplex 3010 with win 7 64 bit is fully compatible with windows 10 and I can upgrade it to win 10 if I want to.

But win 7 32 bit, installed on the same machine but on a  separate partition to win 7 64 bit, and activated, is not compatible with windows 10 according to the MS upgrade tool. I know the i3-2100 processor can run win 10 and I've installed the MS KB compatibility fix and enabled DEP etc. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a fix for this machine that will enable me to upgrade the win 7 32 bit to win 10? Thanks

I have a new Inspiron 3000 15. Used it for a month or so then I didn't use it since. The password isn't accepted and the hint isn't helping. I never made a reset disk or flash drive. I'm willing to reset as I didn't load many things on it yet. I need to get into it then disable password. Is there anyway to do this?  I can prove ownership by service tag as well as full payment on my Dell account.

1)How can i make the usb powershare to be working when the laptop is off?

I mean, i activated the option on the BIOS, but it doesnt works, at least not as how i expected. Laptop needs to be sleeping in order to usb powercharge to work. Is there a way to activate it so that it works when it is off?

2) How much does baterry last? And how can i calibrate the laptop's battery?

I have read in different places that this laptop can achieve at normal use up to 8-10 hours. In powersave mode, i only get 7 and a half. Do i need to replace it or what can you suggest me to do?

I bought an XPS 15 (L501X model) new several years ago. It came with Windows 7, which I still have installed. It did not come with any recovery media or Windows CD, but did have a recovery partition.

At some point when Dell backup and recovery was downloading an update for the recovery partition, it crashed, and the partition was left in a half updated state. I can't recover via the partition any more as it seems to be corrupted by the partial update process.

I am giving this laptop away and want to restore to factory condition. Certainly without paying for a Windows license since I have a valid one already that came with the notebook.

What are my options?

I have two questions about the above model. I have the i3 model with 4G memory. Is this DDR3L or DDR3? On the specifications page on your website it say DDR3L; but on my computer it says DDR3. Can I update this computer to 8GB DDR3L? Thanks.

I am a dell customer since June 2015 who purchased Inspiron 5547 from amazon. Last week, I encountered a little sound at the right hinge. I went a head and reported to Dell Support who asked to the send the laptop. Along with the hinge issue, I also asked to inspect the fan & battery. The very next day, I had to talk to out-of-warranty support as their was a billable hold. I learned that, Dell had considered right hinge issue as a physical damage and not to cover it as a part of warranty. Therefore, I was asked to pay 269$+tax. I tried my best explaining that, this shouldn't be considered as a physical damage. I never ever dropped my laptop. After many requests they agreed to fix the issue for 159$+tax. Otherwise, they would send the laptop with only the parts fixed which come under warranty. Being a student, I can't afford any money. I am worried that the condition may go worse, if the issue isn't resolved. Trust me, you don't find a single mark or scratch to show "this is due to physical damage". I am disappointed, every-time the call, people transfer me to different departments and it goes circles and circles. I spend more than 7-8hours on these customer service calls and nobody would help me(few even disconnected). It is already 5 days now. I am going behind at the school-work everyday. Today, I found 9 forums and saw few customers have experienced the same. I will mention all the case details below. Please write back, if you need more information. Please somebody help me.

I bought a Laptop last November 26, 2015 through Microsoft store.

Today February 2, 2016, 2 months later, I got a problem with my laptop Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV Signature Edition.

When I press the power button and the laptop does nothing, just for a few seconds turn on the hard disk and then turns off. The keyboard lights on and off by seconds. The screen does not turn on. This happened suddenly. I used the laptop last night and today I want tol work with the laptop again and occurs as explained above.

Anyone have any idea what could have happened?

I'm buying my friends laptop. But he cant remember the password for windows 10. Is there a way to reset or reboot without a disk or having to take it to a repair shop?

Please help im getting so much conflicting info.

I wish to increase the capacity of the battery for my sons laptop, his school wont allow AC adaptors in class, it dies at 2.5hrs use.

Dell support tells me only the 6 cell 48Wh (whatever 48Wh is?) will work with his VOSTRO 3560. that's what we've got now.

Ebay has lots of larger capacity 6 cell batteries and even some 9 cell which claim to fit this model.

Part # on my sons 6 cell genuine Dell battery; 8858X (4400mAh or 48Wh)

Part# on 6 cell Ebay  genuine dell battery T54FJ (6600mAh)

Part # on 9 cell Ebay aftermarket 7420 (7800mAh or 87Wh )

One supplier said if fit the 9 cell I wont be able top open the screen all the way, and sent me a photo of a different model which had this problem, vostro hinges on top so shouldn't be an issue but cant be sure...

Can I fit a larger cap battery into my 3560?

Precision M4800 quad core with 4GB x 2 RAM under keyboard + 8GB x 1 in a bottom slot. This support sheet doesn't list that config as valid but it seems to be working.

It's also strange that the manual says the bottom memory is primary and top secondary yet Dell put the original 4GB x 2 in the top slots.

When adding more RAM will 8GB x 3 or 8GB x 3 + 4GB x 1 work or does it have to be 8GB x 4?

Hi, when I power on the lap making a beeping sound , but its booting, window open but the beep sound is on going.... And it's working ...but with the beep sound...

The beeping is like , three beeps in a frequent time gap...what will b the problem...

Dear All,

I have LapTop 3521 (Tag 72V5FW1) with memory

FYHV1 1 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 4GB, 1600MHZ, 512X64, 8K, 204.

Also i have second memory module from laptop 3721 (Tag<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>
)  - 

DG29K 1 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 4GB, 1600, 2RX8, 2G, DDR3L, S.

Can I add second module (from 3721 laptop) to my laptop 3521.  Can my both ram modules work together on laptop 3521? BIOS and Windows 64x detect only one modue, which i put to first RAM slot. Why? If together work impossible, so  - which ways for upgrade my laptop to 8 Gb. So i must install the same second module, or I must install single 8 GB module to first slot ???

So I bought an Alienware Laptop last year but I've encountered something strange recently. My Laptop won't eject my CD's anymore so their stuck in there.

Hi Guys,

Bought my first Dell yesterday, an Inspiron 15 7000 2in1. I was installing the drivers available from the official website but along the way, I found that the touch screen stopped working. Everything else is working fine (screen, trackpad, etc.). It is easy to assume that problem is caused by the Driver installation but I am actually not sure. I suspect that the installation/wrong installation of this driver is causing the problem.

I tried re-installing this but to no avail. I am pretty new to this and I will appreciate any help from you guys.

I read that a factory reset normally does the trick, but I just want to know if I have other options. In addition, I'm concerned that if I do a reset, then I'll just end up having the same problem when I update the drivers.

Hi there!

I've installed Windows 10 yesterday! I installed all needed driver in this link: 

But unfortunately, after 4-5 times reset of my machine, I got that problem. My laptop cannot wakeup after sleep or shutdown by windows's shutdown function. Did I got smt wrong when setting up software or smt like that. Hope receive a good advice!

Inspiron 3558-<SERVICE TAG REMOVED BY ADMIN>, purchased on 19 DEC 2015. Problems from day one, battery drains out, touch pad non responsive, certain keys not functioning. Company guys take remote access , they observe defects but dont agree. 

They have given me spurious discarded piece.

i pity DELL adopting such  practices to increase their revenue, after sizable fall in their market share in INDIA
