Cannot boot with replacement SSD drive on DELL Inspiron 5721 17R Windows 8.1
I'm struggling with my upgrade to my Inspiron 5721 running WIndows 8.1. I want to replace the 1TB hard drive with a Samsung 850 PRO 520MB SSD drive. I have cloned the drive using EaseUS backup free edition and the SSD drive is recognised by the system when booting from the normal hard drive and looks like a perfect clone. However when I swap in the SSD drive the boot up fails with a message no boot drive detected. When I go in the bios it recognises the SSD volume but there appear to be very limited options in what I can change in the bios ton enable the boot up. Anyone any ideas what I need to do next or what the issue maybe?

Dell XPS 9350 and Bluetooth Software
I have a Dell 9350 XPS. I was having problems with my Bluetooth so I went to re-install the driver. I was unable to re-install the driver as I kept getting an Installation fails message.
I then uninstalled the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software hoping that if I start from scratch everything will work.
I can not locate the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software anywhere on Dell's site. When I search the internet I found the software on Broadcom.com but it would not install.
Does anyone know where I can find the software that came with the XPS so I can re-install it.

Few questions about new computer
I just received a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series 3542 . If I push the little ridged area on the CD drive, the drawer doesn't slide open. Nothing will open it. How do I open it?
I have amnesia so simple tasks confuse. How do I put a program icon on the desktop?
I'm trying to delete some pre-installed programs Where is the listing of everything on this machine?
Lastly, for now, my laptop arrived in a box with cord -- only. No Windows 10 CD, no sales receipt, no usage guide other than quick start. Am I expecting too much??

Why does my XPS M1330 have 3 touchpad apps and GUIs?
I recently replaced the hard drive on my Dell XPS M1330 laptop and upgraded from Vista Ultimate to 32-bit Win7 with all updates now installed. Mouse Properties has a tab for Dell Touchpad, by Alps Electric, with GUI DellTpad.exe, and another tab for Cypress TrackPad, by Cypress Semiconductor, with GUI DellDevices.exe. In addition, there is a Synaptics Inc. suite which does not appear in Mouse Properties but includes DellTouchpad.exe, DellTouchpad35.exe, and a third though evidently non-functioning GUI also confusingly named DellTpad.exe. The appearance of the two operable GUIs is identical except for different version numbers/names at bottom left. Changes such as turning off the touchpad are retained in the Dell/Alps GUI after saving but not in the Cypress TrackPad version which repeatedly reverts. No matter what I do, including ending all touchpad-related processes in Task Manager, I cannot disable the touchpad to circumvent the jumping keyboard cursor problem attributed by many to touchpads as the culprit. I also explored disabling the touchpad in BIOS > Post Behavior, but there is no such option in the newest BIOS version A15. This is a truly absurd circus. Surely a single touchpad application should suffice and be able to be turned off! Anyone have any clues?

laptop hardly to turn on and randomly screen goes down/enters in sleep mode (same problem with motherboard replaced)
Hi,
I've a Dell l502x laptop (from 2011). I've some strange problems with it and now I am COMPLETELY lost. It has a Nvidia integrated graphic card and the one that comes with the i5-2410M (HD 3000 graphic card).
Symptoms:
1- It's hard do turn on using the button. When it is the first time I turn on I have always this problem www.youtube.com/watch . The unique solution is trying it several times or press the button during 30 seconds some times. The problem persists in all combinations with/without battery and with/without power supply plugged.
2- The system (randomly) goes to sleep after crashing "something" which forces to go to sleep. If I disable the option of going to sleep in my Windows Options then I can see how the screen goes down (black) during 1-3 seconds and turns on again. Sometimes the screen goes down during minutes. The same problem happens if I have external monitors connected (using the i5 graphic card or the Nvida graphic card, all of them fails). Sometimes is more often and sometimes not. When the screen goes black during seconds or minutes I can still heard the background sounds/music.
Solutions applied:
1- With my friend we used a heat gun with a temperature meter (he does it before) we make a reflow over the Nvidia and also over the HM67 chipset. After that the turn on problem was solved during 24 hours and the flashing screen I cannot ensure because the problems began again the next day (also the turn on problem).
2- I finally contact with an Aliexpress seller which sells me a 2nd hand motherboard. This motherboard doesn't have the Nvidia integrated graphic card. I've installed it correctly and SURPRISE! I still have the same problems (hard to turn on and sometimes the screen goes to black and returns again (with sleep mode disabled)). The more strange thing is that I've exactly the same problem that with my original motherboard and with the same frequency black screens that I am having this week (which is less than 2 weeks ago).
Conclusion:
I'm totally lost.. I don't know what to do. I don't know if this 2nd hand motherboard has the same failure (it is strange because it doesn't have the Nvidia integrated card which I suspect to be the problem). Does anyone have any feeling about what can I try? or what can be? Now I am suspecting to be the i5-2410M which is the unique graphic card that I am using right now. I can add that I've another laptop with the same CPU and memory which I can use to replace and try it. But I am totally lost.. because people says me that was related to motherboard failure.

GPU Upgrade help please.
Hi, I'm new here so please be gentle haha. I recently bought an Alienware M17X R4 from Ebay. It has Intel graphics built into the I7 and a seperate GTX 660M. I am looking to upgrade the gtx 660m to a 3gb or 4gb compatible card. However, when I took it into a local computer shop, the guy said that the BIOS would need changing if I wanted to upgrade the GPU and he doesn't do BIOS. I was just wondering if there are any 3/4gb graphics card that could easily replace the 660m without the need for a BIOS change? Thankyou in advance

precision m6500 only sees 16gb ram
Hello,
I have a Precision m6500 with the x 920 quad core processor. I am trying to upgrade this laptop from 16gb RAM to 32gb. Memory speed is 1333 Mhz. Bios version is A10.
I relocated the existing two 8gb modules into slots C and D and installed the new modules in slot A and B. When I boot, the BIOS only shows 16gb installed. If I remove the modules in slot A and B, I get an error code showing there is no memory installed.
It seems Slot C and D are not being recognized. The memory modules in those slots are known good. If I relocated them into slot A and B, they are recognized.
Is there something I'm missing?
Also, I have purchased a little BlueTooth module. Where does this get installed?

Inspiron 15r SE (7520) GPU fan speed locked

I have Inspiron 15r SE (7520) with AMD Radeon HD 7730m. I have installed Windows 10 on it. It does not matter how high temperature is. Fan speed just does not overstep 35%. I have tried several drivers, but i hasn't changed. how I can get gpu running like it is supposed to? Thanks.

Dell Inspiron 13 7353 - Touchpad two-finger scrolling is not smooth
I just purchased a Dell Inspiron 13 7353 laptop and while I'm pleased with many things about the device, there is one quirky issue that may have me returning it. The issue seems so mundane that I am hoping there is a solution to it but I have not found anything that works yet:
When scrolling webpages (usually vertically) the 2-finger touchpad gesture is not smooth at all. It is slow to start and is a very poor user experience in my opinion, especially when compared to cheaper, less expensive laptops and tablets on the market.
Scrolling is very smooth when I use the touch screen. The touch pad, however, always gets off to a slow start. What I mean by this is that I need to put two fingers on the pad and move them 1/8 to 1/4 of the way across the touchpad before any scrolling starts. Sometimes the scrolling doesn't "take" and I need to reposition my hand back near the center of the touchpad and try again.
Such a small thing but enough for me to return the device and hunt out something better. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them. I set the # lines to scroll at a time w/ mouse wheel to 21, this seems to get the best result.
I am accustomed to having the scroll decelerate smoothly after lifting my hand and would like to have that sort of behavior as well but it's not a deal-breaker. The slow starting is a deal breaker.

Inspiron 17 5748 windows 10 Herunterfahren/Hochfahren problem

Habe problem mit mein Dell 5748 mit Window 10 Herunterfahren und Hochfahren.
Wen ich dell 5748 runterfahre, klapt es nicht 100% und die Akku ist morgens leer. Da es nicht 100% runtergefahren hat kann ich auch nicht mit power knopf starten. Erst wen ich 10s power knopf gedrückt halte, fehrt es runter. Dan erst klapt es auch mit power knopf hochfahren.
Fehlerhafte runterfahren merke ich, wen ich am tastatur den knopf für gross buchschtaben aktiviere. Wo am Caops Lock Verr.maj. Tastatur das licht an ist. Wenn nun der dell 5748 heruntergefahren wird bei fehler bleibt der licht am Caops Lock Verr.maj. Tastatur AN. Geht aber dell 5748 richtig herunter geht der licht am Caops Lock Verr.maj. Tastatur AUS.
Habe zimlich alles probiert wie energie option oder hintergrundprograme deaktivieren. Nichts hat geholfen.
Were für ein lösung des problems sehr Dankbar.

Constant freezing and lockups on Inspiron i7559
I recently picked up the Inspiron i7559 from Amazon and it has worked great for gaming and handling my intensive programs.
However, it can't deal with simple browsing and other tasks that I presume to rely on the integrated chipset (Intel HD 530). Oftentimes the entire computer locks up just clicking on a program, opening up a webpage, and even right clicking the desktop which I reason to be as a result of the integrated drivers.
I've updated the drivers to the newest possible version offered on Dell's page for my laptop but to no luck. I can't keep dealing these lockups every minute so is there any word on new drivers from Dell or a solution?

Tap to click keeps coming back
For several years my dell touch pad settings never changed. After a recent Microsoft updates (I think), my dell touch pad (Synaptics driver ver. 15.2.17.3) on my Inspiron N4110 laptop/notebook (Windows 7) always goes back to “tap to click” mode every time I reboot. I hate this mode and turn it off every time. I have tried to set the Default to “OFF” many times but it always comes back. Every time I open the Control Panel, it appears to be off but isn’t. I have to turn it ON then OFF & click Apply. I have read posts about having to make registry changes to fix this problem. Surely there is a better/easier way!! Can someone help?

laptop smashed up when being repaired under warranty -- what to do?
Hi, recently bought a lattitude e7450 with a 3 year warranty. I gave the laptop to my wife in France. After about two weeks the dc-in gave up. I contacted US Dell (where I bought the computer) and they advised me to transfer the warranty to Dell France. I did so and the computer was sent in for repair. After several weeks (way too long for a simple repair), and three or four phone calls on a premium number that I was advised would be free since the laptop was under warranty (good luck getting that money back) the laptop was returned. It was fully functional but the corner had been smashed as if someone had cut the corner off. Comments made to me during the phone calls indicated a cosmetic issue with the laptop, so I believe Dell France were aware of the issue when they sent the laptop back. I contacted Dell France and Dell US by email stating that the Dell repair had damaged the computer. I had an email conversation with someone from Dell US who said that Dell France were in control of the situation and they could do nothing. Dell France have ignored my emails even though they send out a promise to respond within 24 hours/next business day. What to do? I think it is in the general public's interest to be aware of this unfortunate event. Thanks for any advice.

Can I change 2-finger scrolling to 1-finger scrolling?
Just got a new XPS 15 and cannot for the life of me, figure out how to change 2-finger scrolling to 1-finger.
Is this even possible?
I found the settings and a button to turn 2-finger scroll off, but that turns scrolling off all together.
Please help.
