I was facing the above problem and have tried everything that you mentioned. Next day again the same problem persisted and I repeated the steps you had mentioned.
After running Diagnostics it mentioned no problem...all tests passed
Now I get the message No Hard Drive detected
After running Diagnostics again Windows starts.
I must say that I am extremely disappointed. I have called three different Dell Support Technicians trying to resolve this issue and I have been hung up on a total of 4 times in the last hour (one called me back and immediately hung up again). I purchased this device in February and about a month ago the charger for the laptop started disconnecting itself intermittently and would notify me that the charger is not either not connected or not the right adapter for the device (all while the adapter is secured in the charging port). As of yesterday my battery has started draining even when the adapter is plugged in and says that it is charging. I will soon be unable to use the device at all.
My service code # is<ADMIN NOTE: service request number removed per privacy policy>. I would appreciate a call back ASAP to resolve this.
I have only had this laptop about 14 months and the battery is going. How can it be bad already?

I am having troubles with my alienware m14X r2 model. The battery of my laptop says it is full but when i disconnect the power the battery can only hold out for a short time and the laptop wil shut down.
I tried the General troubleshooting: unplug system, remove or disconnect the battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds.
But this does not work after the laptop shuts down i can not start up the laptop until i plug it in with the ac adapter. The laptop is only around 2 years old should it have these troubles already with the battery? even with a expensive model like this one?
is there somthing more i can do?

my precision m6400 own dvd drive have not reading disc any more
so I tried boot external usb dvd-rom
but I don't find any option
it has only hdd, cd-rom, e-sata drive

I am replacing the X284G battery on my Inspiron 1545 (Vista) with a GP952.
When I attempt to restart the system it does not recognize the battery and will not boot.
Are their BIOS changes to make and if so where can I get information?

Firstly, I apologize for posting here. I couldn't see a more appropriate forum, phone access is difficult (and there's no contact center in this country), and the chat and email responses don't work for me because the system says that my service tag is registered to a different region.
That's true. I bought a new Laptop prior to deploying for a year. Where I am is not where I bought the Dell. This laptop is how I maintain contact with family and friends while away.
A few days ago I got an issue on my under warranty system but ''due to technical difficulties, we were unable to open a support Service Request. We apologize for any inconvenience'.
Unfortunately, as I've said above, the other contact means don't work for me and I'm not sure how I'd get support anyway. I'd appreciate any assistance or advice anyone here can give.

I wanted to know when Dell will develop new drivers for Inspiron N5520 for Windows 10. As i upgraded my laptop from win 8.1 to win10, but i had many probelems....I would get Internal power error (blue screen error), due to graphic driver amd 7600 series + the intel wifi driver (intel centrino n2230) would stop working at times. So, the wifi + graphic driver crashes on Windows 10....Despite i tried downloading the latest drivers from the internet. So, i think it's having compatibility problems....So, i reinstalled my windows to windows 8.1. I'm happy with windows 8.1, as it doesn't crash ever. But when i upgrade to windows 10....My windows kept giving me blue screen errors and my system would reboot with internal power error or hardware incompatible error.
Let me know if you guys have any good updates on windows 10 drivers for inspiron n5520.

I Updated my os to windows 10 on my dell Inspiron 15R 5520. I get a message Internal Power Error and the laptop reboots. And i was trying to download graphics drivers in dell support, i notice the following warning. "Windows 10 Operating System not supported for this device Dell does not support the Windows 10 operating system with this device. Some Windows 10 compatible drivers may not be available on this page". I wonder why??? and how to solve my problem?

whenever i press the power button,it starts to beep and screen turns white gradually.
i remember last year i was having this same problem but then it was recovered itself but now it's not turning on
the product has no warranty.if it cant be recovered then can i atleast recover the data i had on this laptop.

I recently bough a Dell Latitude E5420 (early 2011) model. It came with a lower 2-button mouse under the touchpad and a 3-button mouse above the touchpad. It doesn't have a pointer stick though. I was using the upper mouse buttons somewhat, but they suddenly stopped working. I tried going through the touchpad options, but it doesn't offer any way to change the upper mouse buttons, only the lower ones. Thank you for any help in advance!

My dell inspiron is not not in warranty. While upgrading to windows 10 I got a blank screen error.
After that system was just rebooting itself.
I checked diagnostic and it showed error with hard disk.
My concern is I do not have my windows CD now.
So even if hard disk will get replaced how can I install windows again

I just bought a new RAM memory DDR3 4 GB 1333MHz CL9 SODIMM SR x 2. Unfortunately they do not work. I checked the specification of my laptop and there is an information that I can upgrade it using Memory type 1066 MHz/1333 MHz SODIMM DDR3 and maximum 8 GB. So I did it. Laptop do not start the Windows (7).
Now I'm using 1 GB + 2 GB = 3 GB 1066 MHz
Does these memory should work?
I cannot get the Dell touchpad properties to open up. Clicking on the icon in the task bar shows "Properties" but clicking on it nothing happens.
Touch pad appears to work properly but there is no way to customize it.

I have an 8 month old Inspiron 3521. I have not changed any parts since purchase. Nonetheless, the laptop no longer recognizes its own battery.
I get this error message on startup : "The battery cannot be identified".
I have looked in the BIOS page. I have version 12. The AC adapter type is 65W. It says its original Dell battery that previously worked is not a Dell battery.
At this point, the battery will not charge, and the system shuts down if I unplug it.
Please advise.
my dell 3542 laptop drains battery at night after shut down .in the morning it is hot and when i open i see pbr image y in file explorer .i updated my windows to 10 from 8.1.i also updated bios to A08 from A06.this is happening only specifically at night. if shut down in morning no probem is seen.please tell me what to do.i did full sys diagnostics and nothing came up
