I have an Inspiron 15R that needs a new hard drive. I have old Dell CDs that may or may not be for this laptop (they could be from my former desktop). If I buy a new hard drive, how can I reload whatever I need to get started? I have all the key codes for my Microsoft Office, Quicken, etc., so I'm not worried about that sort of software.

Inspiron 5548 problem with 2nd monitor image size
Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 5548, with dual graphics card, is working fine, but when I plug in a second monitor (VIZIO 50" TV) the desktop is bigger than the screen.
I tried to use the scaling factor from Intel graphics software and from AMD Catalyst, but in both the option is locked and doesn't let to correct the scaling.
What can be done to fit the image correctly in the second monitor?

Dell Backup and Recovery booting up instead of windows 10
For some reason every time I restart/shut down and start up my dell 5737 laptop, it boots up to the the Dell recovery and backup instead of windows 10. I have to each time press F12 and then choose the hard drive option to boot up to windows 10.
Is there anyway to remove the dell backup and recovery (DOES NOT SHOW UP IN PROGRAMS AND FEATURES) or make my computer boot straight to the hard drive instead of the dell recovery?

Dell Inspiron 3520 3 beeps / black screen problem!
Hi, I'm trying to help my GF who is facing this problem with her DELL Inspiron 3520 laptop. Her screen is completely black when she opens the laptop and after a while 3 beeps sound...and then again and again. Now, I've read that this could be a RAM problem...other sites says you need to replace the Motherboard, others like this one: http://blog.parts-people.com/2014/06/27/dell-inspiron-3... ..Show a bit more complex problems (For me at least). So far, we've tried her unplugging it, removing the battery and holding down the startup key for up to even 60 secs and the trying to open it again, nothing. We've also tried and have removed the RAM and placed it back again after making sure there is no dust or anything, nothing. So...what are we supposed to even do now?

Uninstalled Windows 10 and now operating system doesn't work - please help!

I own an inspiron15z and I installed Windows 10 about a week ago. I didn't like it, so I un-installed to try and go back to Windows 8 but now the entire operating system doesn't work.
A similar issue happened to me last year and I so I have both the operating systems on a CD and thumb drive. Trying to re-boot like I did the last time, but pressing F8 is consistently not working to get to the advanced screen.
All that keeps happening is I am asked to enter my system password twice, the screen goes black and then this message appears:

So I try inserting both the CD and thumb drive and nothing happens with the thumb drive, it just keeps repeating the message every time I hit a key. The CD, however, takes the screen to the dell logo and then it stays like that. I've left the computer for almost a half hour and the logo never goes away.
Pressing F12, F2 etc all work fine, its just the F8 key that only takes me to the above message.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Trouble logging into Microsoft
Having problems logging into my Dell laptop Microsoft account. The logon worked until I restarted the laptop. Now I'm logged out. I reset my Microsoft account password from another computer. Was able to login foo my hotmail email account from the other the other computer. Running windows 8.1.

Touchpad and palm rest
I have a Vostro 1520 laptop from 2009. I made some upgrades over the years, and it is still reliable computer, but the one thing I don't like is the single-point touchpad. Is there any way that the the touchpad itself or the entire palm rest assembly could be replaced in order to upgrade to a multi-point touchpad?

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series i5 is so slow
Hi Support,
I purchased this laptop just a month ago and have experienced the poor performance. It takes time to load browsers, hangs up every now and then and takes time to open applications. I have checked my connection and it is working really good.
i contacted customers service and they did the system BIOS restart and asked me to disable auto updates but did not help at all.
The performance is slower than my 3 year old Acer laptop which is not even i3. I am just so frustrated about this and i am not happy with what is going on.
I am not a techie person and just rely on y our customer service. I hope that you can get someone to check and repair my brand new laptop.

Laptop killing update on Windows 10
I just recently upgraded my Inspiron 3520 to Windows 10. I have been unable to use my Norton antivirus on it. Even reinstalling it won't fix the problem. Now a recent Windows update has escalated the problem to my whole computer going on a BSOD loop. Tried stopping it myself, but it cost me my screen altogether, it won't light up. My hard drive even DEFAULTS to a clicking noise.

Motherboard failure on Inspiron 15z 5523
Hi,
A couple of years ago, I purchased Inspiron 15z 5523 Ultrabook. It was running fine until suddenly, it started giving out three beeps on startup. Now, whenever I try to turn the power on, all I get is three beeps. Screen stays blank.
I have contacted Dell support several times over past few weeks. They always tell me to that the motherboard isn't in stock and I should check back in a few weeks. My laptop has been practically dead for several weeks and Dell hasn't done a thing about it. This is unacceptable.
What are my options now? The part isn't available at local vendors either. I strongly suspect that Dell is deliberately withholding the part so as to get me to buy a new laptop (which is simply not going to happen). Is there a way I can get the part? Should I try consumer forum?

M3800 SATA drive not recognized
Hi there,
my new M3800 is equipped with a LITEON 512GB mSATA card and runs Windows 10. Next I wanted to add a 2,5" 1TB SSD (Samung Evo 840), but the Samsung drive does not show up in the BIOS or Windows. I know it DID show up before I installed the OS, but I took the drive out before actually installing Windows.
Using UEFI, Secure Boot off.
Could my SATA cable be broken or am I missing some setting? BTW I tried a different drive with the same no show result...

Playing hidden object games on touch screen pc
I want to buy an Inspriron 3000 2 in 1 laptop but I can't play my hidden object games on the touch screen. I can't get the cursor to show. I have to touch the screen to choose the object and my fingers are to big to get some of the things. Is there some way to get the mouse or trackpad to work with these games?

Laptop not booting(freezes after windows logo appears)?
My Dell Vostro 1550 laptop freezes during booting at windows logo. Tried startup recovery but even after that the screen freezes at same place. Safe mode also not booting, please inform what could be the possible issue here. A site informed the chances could be of a hardware problem,if so what type of hardware errors this could be caused by?
