Replaced hard drive with exactly the same size and brand. I made 2 recovery disc . The first recovery disc installed successfuly about 52 % but after inserting the second disc nothing happened it's like not recognized. I tried to do some adjustments on the BIOS between LEGACY AND UEFI but nothing works. I also owned another dell laptop over a year older 2012 and i have no problem reinstalling windows 8 using recovery disc. i am already frustrated .

Dell m4700 will not respond to mouse or keyboard after wake up from standby
I have had this issue for some time and the local (?) helpline guys don't seem to be able to help. The screen resumes as expected but the restart cannot be completed as neither the mouse or keyboard is responded to.
Occurs both in a docking station and stand alone.
Problem seemed to start after I got the dock for the machine.
Any help much appreciated.

Inspirion 15R-5537 Not Booting - No Screen, No Fan Sound - Just Front Light - Help?

I have an Inspirion 15R-5537 that belongs to my dad for his workplace. One night he came to me and told me somethings wrong and to try to fix it.
First thing I noticed when I try to boot it uo (via the power button) is that screen does not turn on (not light or anything) and I cant even hear a fan (unless its super quiet but i had my ear right on the fan and heard nothing)
The charging and power lights seem to work fine (the lights in the very front) so I know that I turned it on or if it was off.
I tried connecting my TV to the laptop (via HDMI) to see if its just the screen not working but no signal was captured.
I tried removing the battery and charging cable and pressed the power button to remove any excess power but that didnt work.
I tried holding "D" then pressing the Power Button for the LED Screen Test and nothing happened.
I think this case might be severe because I get no response but maybe you guys can help?

Help! After 3 Computers and 3 Months I still don't have a defective-free Dell Laptop
I need someone to help me get a laptop that works. I feel like I've been through the ringer. Probably 30-40 hours of troubleshooting (and counting)
Sequence of events:
1. I order a Dell 7347 from Dell Outlet. I receive the wrong model
2. After a lot of hours on the phone, I return the wrong laptop and receive a 7347
3. The 7347 has "ghost touch" issues where the screen acts as if I'm touching it, even though I'm doing nothing. I literally can't do anything on the computer because it automatically "touches" or clicks other links and folders
4. I call for support. They can't help me because the laptop service tag was never transferred to me. I spend another 2 hours getting the service tag straightened out
5. I spend a few hours on the phone with technical support. They can't fix it remotely
6. I'm asked to send in my laptop to be repaired
7. After ~2 weeks without my laptop, I'm contacted by Dell Tech support saying the parts are on backorder and they don't know when they'll get any in.
8. They send me a replacement 7347 from Dell Outlet.
9. I boot it up. Within 2 minutes, I see the laptop has the SAME PROBLEM AS THE FIRST 7347. Ghost touches all over the screen.
Oh. My. Word.
10. I get a call back from Dell Tech support to tell me they can't help me tonight, but would I like to schedule a call to troubleshoot tomorrow.
I can't go through this cycle again. I just can't. I just want a 2-in-1 laptop that works. Please help. Please.

Stuttring Frequently

I am using My Dell inspiron Z411z for 3 years.
But it is stuttering frequently everywhere (browsing, audio, video, etc.) and shows not responding. Firstly I thought it is some software problem and i formatted it but problem is still there. Then I changed operation system from Windows to Ubuntu unfortunately it did not help too. I checked software and hardware with Dell diagnostic and Memtest in ubuntu but it says no problem. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with my laptop? In addition my battery is dead and I am using it without battery.

Dell E6420 has an idle temperature around 60c?
I had recently posted about a refurbished E6420 having issues but I sent that one back for a replacement so the problem I posted before is no longer an issue.
The replacement I received has a i5 2540M processor and seems to idle at a temperature of between 50c - 60c (it varies), I'm using a program called Speccy and I trust it's readings. This alarms me because I had another laptop that idled at about 35c - 45c roughly, is this normal for this processor to be so hot at idle?
Or would it be a good idea to go ahead and replace the thermal paste?

Dell ownership transfer without previous owner details

I've bought Dell Latitude e7440 second hand.
I've checked warranty by service tag recently and there are almost 3 years of it.
Unfortunately I've bought laptop in Italy but I live in Ukraine and I can't find a way to contact previous owner(I'm not sure if I'm able to find him at all).
Is that possible to transfer that warranty to me somehow? Even paying some money.

Start up taking too long.
Hi All,
I have a Dell Inspiron 17R running Windows 7 Home Premium. The past month when I start up my machine it takes about 15 minutes to make it past the windows loading screen. When I flash the bios it returns to taking the normal 15 seconds, but then 3 days later it is back to the 15 minutes.
The event log shows that the CDRom driver fails to load, I have reinstalled the CDRom drivers several times from the Dell website with no luck. I have removed all accessories that are plugged in and it has no effect. Another thing to note is that I use this laptop as a stationary device so I only use the AC power with the battery removed. Leaving the battery in also yields no results.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. At this point it is a minor inconvenience but still annoying.

I started up a computer we haven't used in a few months and received this message on a black screen. "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager option ROM v8.0.0.1039 ICH9M-E Copyright(C) 2003-08 Intel Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
Steps already taken:
Booted into BIOS and ensured that the HD was selected as a boot device.
Took battery out and discharged power and then restarted
I am not sure what I can do next. But I've got a hunch that the HD has failed. But is there anyway to test that?

docking station work?
I have D600m laptop that docks into my 3250 docking station. Will the new laptops dock into this without any problems? I am about to buy a new laptop and want to use the docking station if at all possible. This is about the 5th Dell system I have bought and I would like to know.

My laptop screen keeps going fuzzy and invert
For the past two weeks or so, my laptop screen goes fuzzy and/or invert. I have to move it a few times to get the screen back to how it was and whenever I hold the screen itself it goes back to how it is.
I have a Inspiron 15 (3537, Mid 2013)
