drivers de wifi
A friend of mine sent me his HP 2000 laptop and basically was going to throw it in the trash before I convinced him otherwise. Basically you are unable to do anything at all, uninstall, refresh, etc. Everytime you do it says system is unable, or missing something, etc. He has 24x7 help which seems to have taken over everything, and again you cannot uninstall it. It appears he, or more likely his children, have deleted vital bits here and there. I tried to run a reinstall via the setting, change system settings, etc., but it cannot even do that. He did not get a cd with his laptop, so are there any options to getting this machine back up and running with windows 8 again? Thanks
Hi!
Ik bought a wificard for my Inspirion 1300 on Ebay. After i installed it in the laptop, after startup an error occurs:
I/O card parity interrupt at 1000:0086.
Type (s)hutt off NMI, (r)eboot , other keys to continue.
The only option that works is pressing S. Then another error occurs, same as above but at adress F000:AF86. Only pressing S results in booting the system.
After XP has started, the new hardware wizzard doesn't find the Wificard.
In the bios, all options concerning wifi etc are enabled.
I've installed all possible drivers, updated them> (ex the bios, because my dead battery doesn't reach 10% charging). However, there is a update available for my bios.Could it be the system needs the biosupdate for the wificard to work?
In that case, any suggestions how to update my bios will be welkome too!
Sincerely,

Hi Guys,
I'm having a problem that I hope you can help me with.
I have recently replaced my battery as it had completely died, I was running my laptop from the mains and it was becoming tedious. The replacement battery was working fine until last night when it depleted. This morning I plug in my AC adapter and am met with an error message stating my charger was not recognised and to try 130W or more, though the laptop is being powered my battery is not charging at all.
Furthermore the white (previous orange blinking charge light) is not lit at all.
I have switched to my old useless battery and this is met with the orange blinking charge light........ Can anyone help????
Many thanks
Is the AlienWare 17 4th Gen I5 a good gaming laptop to start off with? Please help me
Hello,
I want to upgrade ram for Inspiron1501 4GB & Inspiron14 SE 16GB, is it satisify for two notebook upgrade, thanks for your assist.
Hi, recently i started having problems with my Alienware m17x r4. I got this laptop in the summer of 2012 (my warranty just expired).
It started when i downloaded League Of Legends, for the first day it ran fine, then out of nowhere it starting causing BSOD's after 10-15 mins of gameplay. I fixed this problem by chosing to run the game with my Intel HD 4000. as its League of Legends it doesnt need much of a gpu to be playable.
Now i have to get on with some work and i started using Unreal Engine 4, obviously i need to run this with the nvidia card, but when it got going for about 30 seconds it would freeze, then i would get the notification that Nvidia windows Kernel Driver stopped working and recovered.
Naturally i clean installed the drivers and scanned the web for answers, these are the things i tired;
Update Drivers,
Rollback drivers,
clean install older then new drivers,
custom install and unchecked HD audio driver.
Reseated and made sure the GPU was clean.
After all this there was no change. So i decided to hit the manual key for switching graphics cards. this prompted a reboot of the system, when it came back on it lasted 15 mins or so before just going black and then turning back on...
Next i decided to reinstall windows as my DXDIAG was showing my intel HD 4000 to have over 4gb of dedicated memory, not even my Nvidia has that. i assumed windows was being corrupt. after days of trying to reinstall (windows makes it insanely hard to reinstall when i upgraded to 8.1 digitally)
Finally got a new windows on, all updated and back on 8.1 installed all drivers and downloaded UE4 to give it a try, this time it lasted about 20 minutes before my screen went black for a few seconds and then just started loading back up as if it was off.
i really need this problem to be sorted asap as i need to do some work.
p.s. i should mention that i saw some posts about the card not getting enough power, and my power pack has some wear and tear. where it connects to the laptop (before the conector) it has come a little loose, nothing major just thought i should mention that.
Thanks for any help what so ever!
Joe

Hi, I purchased a Inspiron 15R (5537) in February , and therefore still have a warranty until February 2015. The laptop shipped with a Intel Wireless-N 7260 card, however having recently updated my router to a 802.11ac capable device I was looking to upgrade this card.
I have identified the below device as a potential replacement, however I am new to such upgrades and unaware whether this upgrade is compatible and also whether it will void my warranty. I was hoping for some guidance as to what my options are?
Thanks in Advance.
i have dell inspiron 5421 i have a problem with my laptops power, it turns off automatically and when i push the power button it shows no response even when i use it without the battery the same happend.
But the next day when i switched it everything was normal but after an hour again the same happend, but i am sure it not because of heat or cooling fan and moreover my laptop is just 10 months older.
I have a recurring error that says "unable to start Bluetooth stack service" my device manager says things are working, but the error keeps showing up
I have had to use telephone support several times in past two years, successfully.
I have also used Microsoft community (via help ?? )
I have also used dell community & daily digest .. laptop
I have several dell community .. forum queries which have been viewed by several but not replied by anyone.
Would somebody (employed person) email me with correct method for raising future problems please
as it appears I am not doing it properly. Lack of adequate documentation does not help.
( which topics are covered by Microsoft and which by dell ?)
Many thanks

Own an XPS Studio 1550, an XPS i7 and an Ultrabook 13 - but they will be the last !
Battery monopoly (and, consequently, prices) is unacceptable - especially when their web-site doesn't list one under spares for 1 of the machines, they last barely more thani year, and "Support" don't deign to respond to an email query.
Making matters worse, their website hijacked my IE home page during that quest for a replacement and has been a pig to get rid of !
