I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this with the new 15R model. I assume it would work Touch or non-Touch since they share the same chassis.
I want to remove the optical drive and put in a caddy for a ssd.

Two External Monitors - Only one working [Lattitude E6430]
I am very very new to this and probably going to fuddle my way thru this but here goes.
I am working with our IS department in trying to get two external monitors to work from my docking station. I have one external monitor working but not the second. They [my IS department] have tried the "latest" drivers but still no luck in getting the second monitor to recognize the signal. THe monitor that is not being recognized is the one connected to the blue VGA connection. Any suggestions?

USB 3.0 disappearing
I have a Inspiron 5520 with disappearing USB ports .. one is gone ... will not recognized any thing mouse, external drive or flash drive and now a 2nd port is slowly going the same way .
I've disabled/reinstalled the usb hub and even a clean copy of Windows will not work.
I was wondering if anybody has any ideas.

Webcam not operating
I have Dell Inspirion 15R (5110) and I installed windows 8 pro 64bit on it. and now my webcam is not operating with any application. I have also installed dell webcam software.

Backlight the volume keys on the Latitude 6430u
My Latitude 6430u has a backlit keyboard. The dedicated volume control buttons are touch sensitive instead of mechanical buttons that click like on my old D6320. The problem is that I can't see the volume keys at night. They are not backlit when the keyboard is. They only light up when you touch them. I have to drag my finger around to find them and make them light up. I usually wind up muting it accidentally. Can Dell please modify the software so the volume keys get illuminated when the keyboard is illuminated?

Dell XPS 13 Backlight in keyboard fades in and out
Does anyone know a fix to the backlit keyboard on a Dell XPS 13 going in and out randomly? It will be lit when the computer starts then go out when Windows comes up.. followed by going back and forth every 30 or so seconds. Random timing..

Replaced laptop screen
I replaced the screen on my Inspiron 1564 laptop and there are still lines on the screen. I ran a diagnostic test through Dell and no problems were found. Is it possible that I did something wrong when installing the new screen or is there something something else wrong? Any feedback will be helpful.

Silverlight is messing with my webcam
I am at the end of my rope. I recently re-signed up for Netflix and Amazon Prime with my 8 month old Inspiron Laptop. Both sites use Sivlerlight to stream videos which I was aware of having used it once with a previous computer. This time for some reason, Silverlight has decided to turn on my webcam and flash the monitor and dim it or something every time I try to watch something using anything but Internet Explorer (which I despise). I never had this issue with my old computers (a dell XPS desktop and Inspiron laptop). Ihave tried uninstalling and reinstalling Silverlight. I also talked to both Netflix and Amazon and they said it must be something on my end. When I tried contacting Dell, I got run around and told that in order to get this fixed it would cost me like $150 to talk to anyone who can help me. I find that pretty ridiculous considering I have had hard drives replaced, been walked through rescuing a computer from what appeared fatal errors and such in the past. It's enough to make me walk away from Dell in the future if there support has fallen that far.
Is there anyone else who has had this type of issue or knows anything that might help me fix it since Dell refuses to help without trying to bleed me dry?

i know for deploy the " bad driver" on task sequence to use Setup.exe -s its work on windows but its does not work on task sequence => Fail.
or, if i create "package Drivers" when the task sequence is finish i have a probleme
"error in igfxdev.dll"
" missing entry : uninstallTVwizard"

Driver Installation Sequence - Dell Inspiron N7110 17R
Hi,
My HDD has been failing for a while now and I'm about to replace it with a new Hitachi drive. I'm having to do a fresh install of Windows 7 onto the new drive and I wanted to know the correct driver install sequence for my Laptop. I've looked on the FAQ but the link to the information is broken.
Does anyone have the step by step installation sequence for Dell Inspiron N7110 17R
I believe the operating system is 64bit...so does that mean I only need to install the 64bit drivers OR are some/any 32bit drivers needed too?

XPS 15 L501x, Dead Hard drive (Short DST), Replacing advice
Hi all,
A few days ago windows kept booting into a BSOD and trying to repair itself and failing. I ran a test from the boot menu which flagged up a Short DST failure. After leaving the repair overnight the drive finally managed to boot into windows the next day/ I ran a Seagate test which again showed the DST fail so I ordered a new drive in anticipation of it fully failing. The drive arrived today and I'm now after advice on how to get it installed. I have backed up all pictures, videos etc that I need to keep onto an external hard drive. I do not have a windows install disc, and the product key has rubbed off on the underside so I can't read it anyway. I am currently creating a system image onto my external (which will be 300GB so may take quite a while...), once that's complete can I simply remove the old drive, put in the new one then restore from that system image? Do I need to boot from the external drive? Use to be pretty good with all this but have let my knowledge slip over the last 5 years or so. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Graphics chip not working
I've got this problem in my laptop where the screen is distorted and there are blocks (the ones in a chessboard). The initial diagnosis is that there is a problem with my graphic card and the chip needs to be replaced. While some say my entire motherboard needs repair. please help m really helpless here.i've got a dell inspiron 15R i5 first gen,brought it 2 years ago.thanks

N5050 LCD Screen problem
Hi All,
Ive recently have had a problem with my Inspiron N5050. My LCD screen appears to be having problems. From booting the computer up, there are several lines that are running both horizontally and vertically across my screen. The laptop boots up fine, but the lines are virtually covering the screen, which is leading me to think the screen is the problem rather than hardware. it started on about half of the screen but now has spread to to all of the screen. I Have made no recent changes to the system or have made any hardware changes. Could the problem be the Screen itsself or maybe the video card??? Both the BIOS and BIST runs were run when it was only half the screen, and the tests ran fine, now i cant see the screen to run the tests again to determine if its the screen that's the problem.
Any info on what the problem may be will be greatly appreciated.

This is 4th time i'm posting for same issue.
I have laptop with HDD and Display failure, and it's under warranty, and it needs replacement of components.
I have posted this many times before, and as soon as I tell that laptop is in warranty and it needs replacement of failed components, the Dell representatives stop replying!!

Gfx problem
I have a problem with my graphic card. I purchased a Dell inspiron N5100 laptop which had Nvidia GeForce Gt 525M graphic card. But the primary graphic card which is being shown in ccleaner and in the Dxdiag box is the Intel HD one. I tried changing that option from the Nvidia control panel too in the manage 3d settings tab but still no luck. I tried updating my driver too. When I was on the Nvidia driver website, I choosed it to auto detect my graphic card. It did and I was shocked to see that there was no Nvidia driver installed. I downloaded the latest driver, and tried installing it. But after extracting and stuff,and after opening the setup file, it said failled installation or something like that. I have a desktop which too has a Nvidia gfx and when updating the driver there, it gives me no problem. So what do I do to install the latest Nvidia driver and how do I change it form the Intel HD gfx to the Nvidia one?

Problem with my inspiron 15r 5521
Hello friends,
I m new to this community. I would like to have my problem resolved, I have dell inspiron 15R 5521 of config. core i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd n 2gb graphics card.
My laptop works very slow on wifi connection even when the speed is 2mbps. I use same connection on my phone but I get the speed very well.
And again I would like to know how to configure my touch screen. When I see the settings it states that there is no pentile support but when I open the dell support center it states that my laptop has touch.
Help me guys.
Please provide genuine answers.

Device Manager - No "Power Management" tab under mouse properties
I have recently been having issues with my computer mouse not responding for 1/2 a second every few minutes. I was told that under the "Power Management" tab in Device Manager>Mouse>Properties that there is an option which disables your mouse to save power.
I tried seeing if this option was ticked, however I soon realised that I do not have a Power Management tab, only General/Driver/Details.
I am logged in as an administrator.
