I cracked my screen the other day. I wondered if anyone else has replaced their screen and had a good inexpensive source for the 1600x 900 resolution glossy screens?
I also wondered it there is a true HD screen that would work in this laptop?

Back in February about 2 weeks after I got my nice new laptop, it did this. No troubleshooting would resolve it. Re seating everything. Trying to boot it with drive out, battery out, even ram. Nothing. No display and the same Amber White Amber White patter of 3/5/3/3 that everyone on here is having.
The end result of the first time this happened was that they replaced the motherboard and the NVME M2 drive and did a fresh install of Windows 10 home. Has now worked great since. Today, I left it on my desk for 5 minutes, turned on and running. Plugged into the TB16 Dock with a 4k monitor and other devices connected only to the dock. Come back to my office and its powered off. Hit the button to turn it back on and to my dread, same issue as back in February. Same pattern of lights that are ingrained into my memory of my brand new at the time $2000 laptop not working at all. So I went through the motions on my own this time of taking the back cover off (I used to work for a Dell certified repair company and have lots of experience doing this, even certified in their laptops from 8 years ago), and re-seating anything I can. Try booting it without battery and with, without SSD and with, with out ram and with, with different RAM etc.... nothing.
Called Dell support, told them what I did. They had me hold the power button down and the D key until the LCD test started. I was encouraged as the fans spun up too. But after doing a few tests it amber lighted once and shut off. Next was the FN key and Power, it did some tests, nothing on the display and blinked the LED on the front white and amber in no pattern really too fast to count, and powered off. Nothing...... Dell support technician is sending me a shipping label. Will need a new motherboard.... my third in 9 months. The last time it took 6 weeks to get back because it was a brand new model in February when I got it and they didnt have spare parts. It also came back scratched. They sent me a new back cover for the scratch later, so that was at least good.
Hoping they don't need that much time now that this model has been out awhile. Will definitely be spending the $300 to extend the warranty to 3 years. This laptop is not reliable even though I love the form factor and feature set. If Apple sold a mac book pro with Touch screen that worked with Windows 10..... if only.....
Fingers crossed I only have to ship it once, and it doesn't come back scratched up again. Ill post an update when I get it back... in 10 to 12 business days..... ugh.
Recently Windows 10 force updated me to the earlier creators build that came out this year (had Windows update service disabled so I wouldn't get updates) and the original Wi-Fi card wouldn't work. Found some driver that "worked" but the connection speed was under 100KB/S. Ethernet after the recent creators update works just fine though, when it was broken with the previous update.
I bought an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 because it has Windows 10 drivers and I now get a weird problem.
Upon booting to the desktop I only see the Ethernet icon in the notification area of the taskbar and in device manager I see the two adapters
Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Now if I disable and re-enable the Wi-Fi card I get the WI-FI icon in the notification area of the taskbar and I get the red X meaning no available networks. In device manager I get this.
Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter
Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #2
RAS Async Adapter
Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
WAN Miniport (IKEv2)
WAN Miniport (IP)
WAN Miniport (IPv6)
WAN Miniport (L2TP)
WAN Miniport (Network Monitor)
WAN Miniport (PPPOE)
WAN Miniport (PPTP)
WAN Miniport (SSTP)
None of that ever appeared at any time before the earlier update which I only received maybe 3 weeks ago.
Also when I boot up if I go to the airplane mode setting page under wireless devices it says it couldn't find any, but if I disable then enable the WiFi card it shows up on the airplane mode page.
If I run network troubleshooter I get the WiFi icon with an asterisk and if I put the cursor over it the pop-up says connection are available but if I click on the WiFi icon it says no WiFi networks found.
When I do manage to get a list of connections I try to connect to mine and when it tries I see the device manager act like I did a manual scan for hardware changes which it does 2-3 times then the Wi-Fi shows the red X and I can let the laptop sit there and it will still keep trying to connect to my network and doesn't seem to time out or anything.
That just about covers all the issues I think.
Any idea what the problem could be or if it is just a bad update Windows pushed out?
I did read online where a lot have had problems with this card and the previous creators update which was supposedly fixed in the most recent update. They also gave some fixes which sadly didn't work for me.
Dear all,
Few months ago, my laptop got an issue with OEM battery and it was out of warranty period.
I bought a new alternative battery and installed it to my laptop. I ran all diagnostics and there were no problem found.
At full charge, I unplugged the AC power and my laptop turned off randomly.
I tried to turn it on again, it only loads until Windows log-on screen and turned-off.
I started again in Set-up mode on battery and ran diagnostic from DOS environment, there were no problem detected.
Again, started Windows normally, but it turned off at Windows log-on screen.
If I connects it with AC power, I will see battery at more than 95% or even full-charge.
Do you have any idea or suggestion to solve this problem?
I am using the Windows Fall creator update with a new installation.
Hope to have your help! Many thanks!
I searched before creating a new thread and nothing came up. Just when I thought I had this machine sorted out, now I'm getting beep codes. 1 or 3 when shutting down after pressing Restart, then 2 - 2.5 sets of 5 beeps when it's booting up on the restart. (I say 2.5 because it stops after 2 beeps, but you can hear them continuing, faintly.)
Inspiron 14-3452
32GB eMMC drive
2GB SO-DIMM RAM
10.18GB free space
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give.
I have had this laptop for less than two months. however today when i open up the laptop, after it is resting it showed a grey screen with zig zag lines. i then restarted the computer and it was fine. this repeatedly occurred throughout the day. what is the issue?
I have a Inspiron 7567. After updating my graphic driver to 22.20.16.4735 ,A04, I have a persistent problem of seeing this screen when I wake the screen up from sleep or when I open up the screen.
So I installed the older graphic driver, version 21.20.16.4727, A03, and the problem seems to go away. I also checked the Graphic Setting to make sure it is the current drive. However after an hour of use, my screen flickered, went black, and came back on with a blue tint. Then the same problem came back and I got the same screen again when I open the laptop or wake it up from sleep.
I check the Intel Graphic Setting and see the driver has changed from 21.20.16.4727, A03 to 22.20.16.4735 ,A04 by itself.
How do I change the driver back to 21.20.16.4727 and keep it there?
Hi,
I have Dell Inspiron 15 - 3521,
The problem is, it's not turning on, no beep from any part of the computer.
However, it shows the charging light when connected to the charger.
I have tried the draining out battery by pressing power button for 30 seconds trick.
The result is still the same.
It's not turning on.
Plz assist.
Hello,
I have the same exact issue as posted here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19679930
The AC charger I received in the box when we purchased the Dell XPS 13 9350 is 45W but as of recent I have been getting the "plugged in, not charging" error. Is it possible to replace this charger with the 90W charger discussed in the post above?
Please let me know how to proceed.
Best,
Robert
Hi,
I've got a Dell XPS 9350 and the last 2-3 months, I had a bump that gently created itself on the keyboard, I guess it is the battery that has a problem. This also affected the screen, as the keyboard was not flat anymore, I've got spots with dead pixels.
My laptop is sadly out of warranty and my only option when I go to the support is to call the support, but as I bought the computer in Switzerland, it is in German, which I don't speak fluently enough to be able to handle such a discussion.
First of all, did other people had similar problems? What did you do? And do you have any other options I could use to fix this?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Everyone,
I recently just purchased a Dell Inspiron Gaming 7567 and I mistakenly purchased it without a back lit keyboard. Returning the laptop is currently not an option. I was wondering, is it possible for me to replace the none back-lit keyboard with the back lit equivalent for the device and for it to be full functional (i.e. a fully working keyboard + toggle-able back lit keys), or will replacing the part just yield me another keyboard without a back lighting. Minor inconvenience, however I would be extremely happy if I could change that on my laptop. I hoping someone has the answer.
Hi.
I have Dell Vostro 3400 that will auto shutdown (only on battery though) after unplugged from AC. Well, not exactly after unplugged. If I left it idle and did not touch anything after unplugged, it will last about 5-6 minutes, but if I directly open any software after unplugged, it will shutdown completely.
At first I thought it was battery problem, but when I restart, the battery percentage did not show any symptom of bad battery such as drastic dropped in percentage.
Restart in safe mode but the problem still happen.
Found nothing in BIOS, and Power Plan looks normal. I don't think it's overheat problem as well.
The motherboard had been replaced once. Could it be the motherboard??
I just bought one from the dell outlet factory. Till now the laptop is a beauty but the only thing that bothers me is the 256GB SSD. I do some recording and video rendering stuff too besides than just gaming.
Now, my question, is there any way to to install a 1TB HDD, keeping my 256GB SSD undisturbed. I did some research and found out that my laptop supports 2.5Inch SATA hard disks but does it only support SSD or both SSD AND HDD
Is there any free internal slot for the installation of 2.5Inch HDD/SSD ? Please anyone ?
Also I checked this post() Where he says he ordered the 1050Ti version but got the normal 1050 version. The thing is, my uncle has got my laptop and he's bringing it on friday plus he doesn't know how to check the graphic card and everything. I ordered the 1050Ti version, so will I be getting the normal 1050 version or the correct one(1050Ti) ?
I just switched broadband providers and they switched out my surfboard SB6121 to an Arris TM1602. Now my laptop won't connect., no matter what I do..
I tried resetting the modem/router,, uninstalling/reinstalling the Dell Wireless WLAN 1501 Half Mini-Card Driver, removing/readding the SSID etc etc... This is driving me freakin banannas..

Hi all,
I am looking to upgrade my ram from 4GB to 8GB. I downloaded an app called CPU-Z to check the RAM specs. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5459 (Not vostro)
Laptop Specs
CPU : Intel Core i7-6500U
GPU : Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
GPU (dedicated) : AMD Radeon(TM) R5 M335 4GB
RAM : 4GB (1 x 4GB)
My question is, what is the type of my RAM> Is it DDR3,or something else because my BIOS says it's LPDDR3 SDRAM and I searched up my model online and it is DDR3L, but from CPU-Z it's DDR3
Update : Nevermind I solved it myself, it is DDR3L
I’m using Dell Inspiron 7567, Im using my computer normally suddenly it just restarted, after the dell loading screen another black loading screen, i can only see my cursor and the loading loop and I cant even go to the Windows Log In screen, then i waited log in screen just flashes and restarts again. I recently purchased an Inspiron Gaming Series Dell laptop and since yesterday when I open it/turn on the power button the screen displays green/white vertical triangle lines (can provide an image). It DOES NOT display the Dell logo at all and doesn't even give me the opportunity to sign in, it just stays stuck on the screen.
This laptop is fairly new, purchased back in August, so it should still be under warranty, but it worries me that it is having issues when it is still fairly new. What could be the cause of it? Any way I can fix it?
If you, Dell, wanna sell the laptop with digitizer feature, at least you should, really should give us about its maximum pressure sensitivity supported.
I want to use 3rd party stylus like Wacom Bamboo Ink or Microsoft Surface Pen(2017). Both supports 4,096 pressure sensitivity and MPP(Microsoft Pen Protocol). Are they supported by the screen(digitizer panel) on Dell Inspiron 13 7373, with their original pressure sensitivity range(4,096) exactly?
