I have had my Inspiron 5767 laptop for about 2 weeks, and I cannot remember the master admin password I set on the first day. I was positive I was entering the correct one, but system says no. I am able to use as a guest only. I am probably the millionth person to ask this question, but what can I do?

Vostro 3460: Blank screen and no POST, boots occasionally only
Hi,
I have a Dell Vostro 3460 purchased several years ago. It shows the exact same issue and behavior as described in http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/20003103.
If the machine starts up, everything is fine. But it takes a reasonable numer of power-cycles until POST comes up. The problems arised several months ago and the effect seemed to increase over time. At first, the machine was occasionally not booting. Currently, it is the other way round. It occasionally boots up only.
At one time beeing lucky and getting the machine through POST I ran the diagnostics with Fn+POWER. No issues found except that it complained about the missing battery, which indeed wasn't installed at this time.
I also tried
- Disconnecting the hard drive -> no change
- Replacing the RAM -> no change
- Removing the RAM -> beep code (as expected)
- pressing D+POWER -> display test runs (I see colors) -> no POST

My Laptop is not turning on
3 days ago i turned off my laptop dell inspiron 15 3542 (i3). next day when i pressed button to turn on laptop it did not turn on.
moreover, when i plugged in Charger . charging indicating light did not turned on. i have check the charger and battery with another laptop both are working fine.
yesterday, i . removed the battery and plugged in and out charger several time then laptop turned on and then i inserted battery now battery was charging. charging indicating light is indicating light.
but i turn off laptop then i have to repeat process again and agin to turn on laptop.

DELL 7567 ISSUES WITH RUBBER COATING AND HINGE
Hi'
I Bought DELL 7567 on August 2017.
I am facing a minor problem with the rubber coating on the keyboard desk. Actually the rubber coating from the edge of keyboard desk is getting damage it seems like skin peeling. I dont know how as I always take good care of my laptop and dont even use it rough and also never placed it in bag so that the coated edge will get scratched.
The other problem is with the hinge
The left side hinge of my DELL 7567
Whenever i close my laptop screen the left side on my screen not stay on the platfrom of the keyboard desk edge it look like from the left side the screen getting slide to the right whenever i close the screen of my laptop is that a issue? or its just a mechanism ?
My screen is working fine and also not create problem while opening the screen
Please reply on this matter as i am bit worried about my laptop.

Keyboard issue with Dell Inspiron 13 5000 series
Hi All,
Not sure if anyone else has the same problem. For some reason, keys 2,w,s,a and x aren't working in my laptop. This is the second time this is happening and exactly same keys. The previous time (which was about 6 months from the time I bought the laptop) Dell changed the keypad and it was under warranty. 6 months later now, again the same problem. There is absolutely no physical damage or don't recall pouring any liquid or spilling food on the keypad.
As I have changed the hardware once and have the same issue now, and it doesn't seem like a software problem too. I know if I call customer support they would ask me to change the keypad and since its out of warranty now, I would have to pay for it, but I want to know if there is anyone else facing the same problem.

XT2 XFR battery problem
My XT2 XFR wont go mobile unless I disconnect and reconnect the battery while the computer is on and the adapter is plugged in. I have replaced the motherboard and it didn't fix it. What could be going on? Did I get a faulty second motherboard? The battery and adapter are genuine dell. I have a second XT2 XFR that functions fine with this battery and adapter.

My laptops doesn't seem to be a Genuine laptop
I recently bought this laptop from a dealer and this laptop (Insprion 15 3567) doesn't seem an original laptop because even if it has got 8GB RAM its ram is nearly always occupied 5GB when I just start it.
Also the Disk is 100% for first 15 minutes and just hangs my laptop. The battery runs out before 2 hours.
many windows apps crash on regular basis and have to be reinstalled again and again.The CPU too is really annoying even when its i7 7th gen it runs like Pentium or i3. I am really disappointed by the service. I bought DELL in the hope that it would be the best in the market, even when it was costlier than most other brands but now I am regretting my decision. Please help me out.

Laptop won't turn on
My dell laptop isn't turning on. When I pressed the power button the power light i. I noticed that the fan starts and stops every 5 secs. So i get an conclusion that the laptop restarts for every seconds. There is no reponse in the display. I tried connecting the ac cord and waited until the battery is of full charge and tried turning on but still it behaves the same. I even tried draining the electricity by removing the battery and disconnecting the ac cord and press & holding the power button for a 1minute. After that tried power on my laptop but no use. I remember that my laptop bag hitted a bit hard towards the floor when kept on the floor while the laptop was inside the bag. So is there any solution that could help me or should i take my lap to service center.

After system restore: error message ‘A operating system wasn’t found’
Can you help me. I have a Inspiron M301Z laptop that originally had Windows 7, but I installed the free Windows 10 upgrade.
I needed to have a ‘System Restore’ after it finished and rebooted, I got the error message ‘A operating system wasn’t found. Try disconnecting any drives that don’t contain an operating system.
A full diagnostic test found no problems.
I would prefer to reinstate the original Windows 7 and Dell drivers, but I assume installing Windows 10 removed the Windows 7 installed on my motherboard.
How can I reinstall an operating system?

Dell 15 5000 series won't turn on
My laptop went to the "we found an error...must restart" screen and since it has the led light flashing with the backlight on the keyboard flashing as well. And nothing, doesn't acknowledge that I've held the power button, or anything else.
This is only a month old - used for school, Netflix and Pandora streaming

Brand new XPS 13 laptop does not have Windows installed
I just received a new XPS 13 laptop and was dismayed to find that it failed to boot properly, giving the error "No boot device". The automatic Dell diagnostic tests did not find any problems.
Fortunately I had a bootable Ubuntu stick handy, but when I booted into Ubuntu and began the Ubuntu installation process, it told me that no operating system was detected on the computer. I re-checked my order and it was supposed to come with Windows 10 installed. Regardless of whether I can install Ubuntu, I would like Windows to be on it as well. Is there anything I can do short of returning the laptop?

Latitude 5580 w/ USB Dock and Multi Monitors - What do you do with the laptop?
We have an office filled with dual monitor Dell e-port docking stations. Usually people have a 24" monitor attached to the E-port Monitor Stand with a dock, and the monitor next to it is a 24" dell monitor.
User arrives into work, clicks their e-port equipped Latitude laptop into the dock, both monitors light up. If the laptop goes to sleep, user reaches back towards the dock where there's the little power button on it to wake up the laptop.
With the newer USB-based multi monitor WD15 docks, how do you wake up your laptop when the lid is closed, since there's no power button on them?
Also, since there's nowhere to physically click the laptops into anymore, what do users do with their laptop? Shove them behind the monitors somewhere? There's very little room on their desks for a 2 monitor + always open laptop setup (nor do they need 3 monitors, they only want 2), so the laptop needs to be lid closed and put somewhere, which worked fine for the e-port docks with the under monitor stand.
Thanks for helping me visualize what to do with this setup. I'd like to upgrade out of my e-port docks and Latitudes but I can't see how it will work out.

My XPS 15 9560 has been out of warranty for a few months, recently got the dreaded bloated battery/raised trackpad. I've done my research and saw that this is a common issue among other people who have it. I I think it is now become a legitimate safety concern, as it has swollen enough.
Is there any way for this to be fixed?

Dell Latitude D600 Current Date Resets to The Default BIOS Date
I got a Refurbished Dell Latitude D600 Laptop from ebay yesterday on Tuesday, September 26th 2017, It had Intel Pentium M (Non-Centrino) and Windows XP Pro SP3, but when i boot it up, it resets to The Default BIOS Date, can someone help me?

Dell Alienware Update
Hello all. I have a laptop Dell Alienware R4 and I reinstalled today my windows 10. I remember that I had a program with the namу looks like "Dell Alienware Update" what found and install all available new drivers all the time. Now I can't find this frogram. I installed Dell system Detect and Dell SupportAssist, but I still cant find Alienware Update application. I downloaded all my drivers from official site by my tag and also I didnt see it there. If you know what I mean please send me a link or where I can find it.

Non-functioning Pointer Stick Item Missing From Pointing Device Menu After Keyboard Change
Greetings:
I installed a new backlit keyboard on my previously non-backlit e6430 and now not only doesn't the pointer stick and its click buttons no longer works but even the Pinter Stick enery in the Dell Pointer Device panel is now missing. Everything else in the keyboard works and ribbon.cables are fine. Neither Dell Support Assist nor Dell Feature Enhancement nor Dell Unifying app mention or "see" the stick on a full diagnostics checkout, so either the stick a malfunction or a "dummy". I want to run all my opinions before I might send it back. If my e6430 didn't come with a backlit keyboard nor meant to have one, could it be that the new backlit keyboard is being lit by (hijacking) the power circuit intended for the pointer stick? Is there a way I can check the BIOS and have it find and activate the stick? Could I download any older pointer stick drivers and see if that does the trick?
Any advice most appreciated!!!

XPS 15, latest BIOS update ruined the cooling system.
I have a Dell XPS 9550 laptop, and I've recently made two BIOS updates. The one 1.3.something, and now I have 1.4.0
They both had the same terrible issue.
It seems like the processor cooling policy is completely broken.
My laptop's fans never go to silent mode now. They always run, with pretty high speed and noise. Even when CPU is totally idle, or loaded on about 1-5%
Before these updates my Dell never ever turned on the fans with this kind of CPU load, staying completely silent.
If this is BIOS's issue, I'd like to ask Dell engineers to fix it and push new update.
If there is anything I can do myself to fix it, I would highly appreciate any help.

Dell Inspiron 15 7567 laptop freezing and buzzing sound issue when laptop charger is plugged in and unplugged while playing music/video
The problem still exists even after Dell repaired the laptop. It took two weeks to get the repaired laptop back from Dell.
The problem is:
When I plug or unplug the charger while playing music/video on laptop, the laptop is freezing with buzzing sound for 1-2 seconds when the laptop begins charging. Even after Dell repaired the laptop, the problem still exists.
Tried installing the updated drivers, the laptop works fine only for a short period and then after some time the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.
Also, if the laptop is restarted it works fine for a while and then the same freezing with buzzing sound problem comes back.
Not satisfied with the Dell and Dell repair services.
Need help with this problem.

Laptop keep on typing letter P in search box
I have a Dell Inspiron 14 with windows 8
The issue i am having is that when it gets to the login, it types the letter P repeatedly in the search box without anyone touching the keyboard and than selection keep on shifting bw different projector options.
At first i thought it was a P letter is pressed than i also remove battery and restarted it., Same problem occurs
Anyone has any idea how i can fix this?

Alienware 17 R4 Display differences
Forgive me if this is the wrong section but I had bought the 17 FHD ips display but was plagued with horrible light bleed issues. I was granted an exchange and upgraded from a 1070 to a 1080 with a QHD TN panel. I have concerns now after reading online everyone bashing tn panels. I was excited at the upgrade at first seeing that it has a higher refresh rate and resolution. Should I be concerned going from a FHD IPS panel to a QHD TN panel? I am worried that it will be a horrible display compared to the ips 1080p one.
