I have purchased dell 3521 laptop having serial no DG17SX1 from  gandhinagar gujarat india based seller on 30th Jan 2014.

My laptop was stolen near by ahmedabad gujarat india on 9th August 2017 , I have already raised police complaints to mahemdabad Police station but they are asking for mac id which was not mentioned by seller in bill.

I got SCAMMED by Dell Store(Thane, India) into buying Dell 5577 laptop

I wanted to buy a new laptop and found out about Dell 5577 on the internet. I wanted to know more about it. So in the evening, I went to nearby official Dell Store in Swastik Plaza, Vasant Vihar, Thane(W).
Over there, I met Sandeep Kanade, who is the customer representative at the store. He showed me a Dell 5577 which was on display. I tried it out for a few minutes.
The laptop was good but the display looked somewhat off. The colors were not vibrant and picture quality looked dull.
Before going to the store, I had read on the internet that recent Dell laptops have TN displays with poor screen quality. An alternative to TN is IPS display which has much better display quality.
So while I was trying out the on-display Dell 5577 laptop, I asked Sandeep if this display is IPS or TN. To which he replied that its an IPS display. Then I asked the price of the laptop. He said its 85,000 Rs.
Then I asked, what if there is an issue with laptop in first few days? He said that if there is any issue with the laptop, within the first week of purchase, he will replace it.
I told him that I will come by next morning to do the payment.

I went to the store to ask about EMI options. Over there, I again asked Sandeep, if the screen is IPS or not. He replied that the screen is IPS.
I looked at the EMI options and didn't like them. So I decided to do the payment in full and went back home to get the amount.
Meanwhile, Sandeep then sent his store assistant to get the laptop from Mulund godown.
He told me that once his assistant is back, he will call me on my number.
In the evening, around 6PM, I got a call from him asking me to come to store to collect the laptop and make the payment. After reaching the store, his assistant unboxed the laptop so that I can check if everything is OK.
The display still looked off and I once again asked Sandeep is the display is IPS or not. To which he again said thats it's an IPS display.
I confirmed with him that if there is any issue with the laptop within first week, the laptop will be replaced. To which he said yes.
Then I made the payment of 85,000 Rs and took the laptop home.
That night, I was watching videos on YouTube and noticed colors are looking dull. I played videos on 1080p and the quality was still poor. I also watched Netflix in HD and the issue persisted.
Then I finally checked the Dell website for info on 5577. It was clearly written on Dell India website
"See every move your character makes with a FHD (1920x1080) anti-glare TN panel display."

Next day around 12:30PM, I called Sandeep(the Dell Store representative) and told him that the display quality is bad and colors look dull.
I again asked him if the screen is IPS or not. To which he said the display is IPS.
I took the laptop to Dell store at 2PM. There I asked Sandeep to call some technical person who actually knows about the laptop.
He then called one of his contacts to confirm if the screen is IPS or TN. The person on the other end of the phone said its a TN display.
Now Sandeep CHANGED HIS STATEMENT and says that its a TN display.
He then goes on to say, that he had said its an IPS display only once since I asked him only once.
This guy is trying to bury his head in the sand by ignoring that its a serious issue. It was clear that I have been cheated into buying a Dell laptop.
I confronted him that he earlier said that the display was IPS but I got at TN and I wanted an IPS display. I have been asking this from the moment I entered the store if the screen is IPS or not. I have asked this on multiple occasions to which every time Sandeep confirmed that its an IPS display.
I have read on the internet that IPS display is better than TN that's why I have been asking about the display from the moment I entered the store.
I told him that I want IPS display. So just the replace the display. To which he called the same technical person on the phone and asked if Dell 5577 comes with an IPS display. The person on phone said that Dell 5577 doesn't even have the option of IPS screen.
I clearly told Sandeep, that he promised a Dell 5577 with IPS display and the one that he sold to me is not with IPS display. If he would have told me that this model doesn't come with IPS display, I would have asked him to show me another one. But instead he promised me one thing and sold me another.
At that point, I said, I don't care about any of this just give me the IPS display. He then said, that he will refund me the entire amount.
I told him since he has made such a mess, the least he can do is refund my 85,000 Rs. He repeated that he will refund me the entire amount.
Once again, he called the same technical person and asked him how to initiate a refund. The person on the other end said that amount can't be refunded since the warranty on laptop has started.
This is ridiculous and irresponsible. One minute ago, he himself says that he will refund the entire amount and now he says he won't be able to refund it. He doesn't know about the laptop or the policies. Does this guy know anything at all?
I reminded him, that he himself said if within first week there's any issue he will replace the laptop. Even though this is a scam, he is neither replacing nor refunding.
On top of that, he even bragged, that has done many sales in the past and the display issue which I am describing is not an issue at all. Many customers have bought laptops from him and no one had any issues. How is any of that relevant?
Not even 24 hrs after buying, the official Dell Store representative goes back on everything he promised. How am I supposed to ever trust Dell again? When the representatives are changing their statements as per their convenience. And not giving a *** about the customers or their hard earned money.
I have had enough already. Kindly look into this case and refund my money.

INSPIRON 15R 7520 FAN PROBLEM

Hi fellow Dell users,

I have a overheating problem with my laptop and I suppose it is because the fan doesn't seem to blow...

I updated the BIOS to the last version and during the system diagnostic (F12 at boot) the fan was blowing quite normally (up to 4500rpm if I remember well)...

Moreover, I opened and clean the system from all the dust a few months ago but I didn't change any thermal compoung of any kind...

Any hint folks ? Should a change thermal paste or something ?

Upgrade Latitude D 610

Inspiron 5559 Turned off unexpectedly

Last night my not quite 2 year old Inspiron 5559 turned off unexpectedly. It has not turned on since. I have tried removing the battery, holding down the power button for up to a minute, put the battrey back in, then tried the power again. No results. The laptop is not turning on at all. It had full battery at the time as I was running it plugged in. Any suggestions? I have a lot of information on this that I need to access.

Going abroad. 220 to 110?

I'm due to be going to the USA later this month and want to take my laptop with me (XPS 13 9360). I've looked at the charger to see whether it will accept both 220 and 110v inputs but i can't see anything written on it at all? I've had a look through the online manuals and have up to yet been unable to find anything definitive. Could anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

I bought a dell inspiron for my (teenage) daughter about a year ago, a few months after the charger wasn't being recognized.It said it needed a 50 watt charger, but the one I had was 55 watts. We kept it plugged in even though it wasn't charging because she needed to use the laptop. Everything was slow though... it said system performance would slow down which ***. I've bought a bunch of new chargers. All 50+ watts.All have the same problem. After a while for the battery it said "no battery detected" even though there WAS a battery in there. I bought a new charger and a new battery yesterday. The battery I put in was at about 35% charge and was recognized. However, when I plugged in the charger, it said plugged in not charging. Again, we (she) kept it in because she does use this laptop quite frequently. Today I noticed that AGAIN, no battery was detected. I am annoyed and we are going to take the laptop in (hopefully) for repairs tomorrow. I don't know if I'm currently going to be able to afford it. What is the issue? 

computer makes buzzing sound when sound is on.

Back around the first of the year I sent my xps 17 L1702x back to the depot to replace a bad motherboard. Ever since then I have noticed a buzzing sound in the speakers when the volume is half way up or louder. I can press down on the top of the hand rest area, and the buzzing stops Has anyone else experienced this problem? I would hate to have to send the computer back to the depot for this but it's driving me crazy!


My laptop can't turn off.

I have a Dell Vostro 5470 laptop. When I want to turn it off, hibernate or sleep, it can't properly do it. The power led is on and (I think) the fans are noisy. When I press the power button for many seconds (so with brute force), it turn off.

I have a new SSD in it with a clean install of Win10 (with the previous HDD it didn't work either). I have updated all of the supported softwares (drivers, chipset, BIOS etc.) and I have cleaned the inside of the laptop.

I have no idea what to do, please help me. Thanks!

I rest my laptop Inspiron and it's missing the oporating system and I'm trying to figure out since my laptop runs windows 7 64 bit can I use a windows 7 32 bit start up disk to reinstall the oporating system without messing up my computer any further?

M7510 Wont boot - clicking noise

My M7510 has stopped booting. I have tired everything noted in support. 

Even with no batty I can not get it to boot.

I plug in power supply / original and seems ok - I also tired the power supply from the dock which is same part number. Sometimes the charger lights go dim and no power button light. This is the same for both power supplies. If I uplug the light comes back on full on the charger. Ive tried with all ram removed fro mall slots, plugged the CMOs battery. All I hear is a quiet ticking around the enter of the mother board form the bottom.

Press power button and I hear a few quiet clicks then power light goes off. It loops a few times then stops completely. No other lights flash for diag read out. Only the power button and the small power led  on front bezzle flashes then the loop starts. 

not too long ago I had a new motherboard fitted and 2 sticks of rem when the laptop would only post with 2 stick of ram. the engineer said the pate on the GPU and CPU was dry as well as the ram slots playing up.

The laptop fans always seems to go to max even when just steaming from iplayer and so on. Laptop always had seemed hot since day 1. I run a lot of VBA and Excel but thats all. Bo CAD or such. I would have thought this would breeze through the processing with no issues. It did do things fast but was always very hot ad noisy. Since the new MB was fitted I did see artifacts in video that were not there previously but I put those down to internet speeds playing up.

I had no issues other than above, last shutdown was normal.

Laptop is a certified refurb.  32gb ram, 1TB SSD,  i7-6920, AMD FirePro W5170M, etc...

Desperate to get this going its my work laptop.

I'm still well within warranty but if there is a quick fix rather than waiting on an engineer it would be good to know.

Is there an option to get a new laptop as this is the second major failure ? I'm smuggling to trust this wont go bang again and its not a cheap throwaway laptop even at refurb prices.

Dell laptop does not go past dell logo

Hello,

I have a dell studio 1555 that has worked very well for a long time, suddenly the laptop would not go past the dell logo, it takes along time for the bar beneath the logo to load. When it is fully loaded I am able to enter into bios, but it will not load the operating system (windows 10). What can I do to fix this?

Dell XPS 13 9360 adaptive brightness issue still persists

Here's the video, so you can see what I'm talking about. Basically, XPS 13 9360 QHD, has this issue when in a dimly light room, the brightness will be automatically set to the max, and won't be changed by either bios settings (you can adjust brightness level there for battery/AC), latest driver settings, or by keyboard keys.

It'd work normally, but then it'd start going bonkers, but then it'd go back to functioning normal.

Or just stay at max brightness.

I tried disabling DBC, installing latest graphics driver from Dell website, or Intel website using this method, installing latest bios, and other recommended drivers, disabling sensor monitoring service in "services.msc", didn't help.

Xps 15 battery replace issue?

Few days ago i was replaced my xps 15 9530 battery and trackpad but now my laptop providing me 30 mins to 1 hour instead of original backup which was almost 4 to 6 hours battery backup and almost at 60% its power off ownself even without any battery low notification why?

Can someone please tell me how may pins total are for the memory (i.e. 204 or 240).

Also I want to upgrade the cpu to a i7-3740qm and I don't know if the fan & heatsink that came with mine (i5-3320 I think?) can handle it for playing steam, stream movies, and multitask. If you can give me a link for were I can buy the heatsink and fan I would be very happy.

my other plans for the laptop is to upgrade to a 97 cell battery, Samsung evo 2.5" ssd sata III, an opticale drive caddy to add another ssd or hdd, and getting one of those laptop fan coolers or whatever there called.....

laptop specs:

windows 10 pro

4gb ram

250gb hdd

sandy bridge i5 at 2.8ghz or 2.7ghz turbo clock to 3.3ghz or 3.2

ghz when using on steam.


Issues waking Latitude 7280 on new docks

We've been getting in the new Latitude 7280 laptops and the Dell WD15 docks to replace some of the older outgoing models using the old docking stations that connect through the connector beneath the laptop. 

Every 7280 we've tried with the new docking stations seems to have the issue that it won't wake up at all when you reconnect the dock to the laptop.  For example, when you connect up the laptop in a morning and power on through the docking station, it works fine and displays on the monitors connected to the dock.  The user then unplugs the dock, walks away with the laptop for a meeting where they'll use the laptop in a meeting, then closes the lid which puts the laptop to sleep, walks back to their desk, reconnects the dock and no matter what they do, they can't get anything to display on the screens.  To resolve the issue, the user has to open the laptop to see the screen, log in, shutdown the laptop, close the laptop and then power on with the dock again which is causing a lot of grief.  Another "solution" would be to not close the laptop screen, this causes an issue that when you plug it back into the docking station, only 1 of the displays plugged into the dock will work leaving the other blank presumably as the dock/laptop can only run 2 displays at once. 

Any one suffering the same or offer any advice?

E5570 input freezes while on docking station

I have a Latitude E5570 laptop that was purchased in November 2016. I have been using it with an E-Port that was purchased perhaps 5 years ago with my previous laptop. The combination has been working fine until the last week or so. Several times a day, the input will freeze. Neither mouse nor keyboard respond to input. This includes the keyboard and touchpad on the laptop. If I undock the laptop and allow it to reset, then redock, everything works again. At first I thought this might be a dock hardware issue. However, after looking through the forums, I am wondering if this might be a driver issue.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

KeyBoard Backlight stopped working - DELL INSPIRON 15 3542

Hello everyone ! 

My keyboard backlight was working fine since I bought the laptop , but then one day it just stopped working.

I've pushing F10 as always to turn on the light , but nothing happens

I've gone to windows mobility to see if there is something to do , but the keyboard back light options are not there, and the CAPS LOCK light is always working , I don't understand ? 

Please if you can help me out with this , because I need this feature considering that I'll my work is at night.

Problem with keyboard - Inspiron 15 7000 Series

So I recently bought this new laptop(windows 10) and I discovered something wrong.

It's a qwerty keyboard, and the letters work fine.However, the buttons in the top row are reversed; meaning that when both shift and caps lock are OFF, these buttons show numbers, not symbols.

When I enable caps lock, I get capitalised letters and the numbers stay the same.

And when I press shift, I get capitalised letters and the symbols instead of the numbers.

So essentially, if I want it to be normal(lowercase letters + the top row giving symbols) I need to enable both caps lock and shift.I tried it using the touch keyboard.

I tried every language I can find that has QWERTY and although some of the symbols change, I always get numbers when shift and caps lock are off.However, any azerty keyboard works fine..

I have been googling for days and looking at dozens of forum threads but NONE of them matched what I was looking for...

I don't know if this is supposed to happen, nor do I care about it.

I just need help in making it stop.
