Dell XPS 13 9350 battery charging to only 80%

Hello all, I just purchased a 9350, win 10 Pro , 4GB ram, 128 SSD. I noticed that the Battery Icon would stop charging at 80%. Shows Connected , not charging at the 80% mark. I have read on the Forums about this being an issue on this 9350! SEEMS TO ME THAT THE BATTERY SHOULD ALWAYS CHARGE UP TO 100%!

So I innstalled the latest 9350 Bios and Power management drivers updates from the Dell seb site.

I thought that would correct the issue but it didnt!

Dell XPS 13 9350 battery cstill stops charging at 80%!!!

I performed the Dell ePSA F12 Diagnostic tests and the battery results are as follows.

Charge cycles 13

Battery Health 93%

Voltage 8420 millivolts, current 2717 ma. 

I have also read that after some 9350 owners replaced the battery they were still haveing the issue of the battery not charging to 100%.

Anyone have the same experiences?

e7240 lan issue while docked

Hi,

I've been experiencing this issue for some time now, and haven't found any permanent solution. The lan port on laptop itself works fine, once docked the link lights go down which indicates that the connection has been relayed to docking station lan port which doesnt light up when cable plugged in. Things that I already tried are: Bios upgrade, downgrade, multiple different lan drivers, different power adapters for docking, reinstalling windows, hardware diagnostics, running without battery, trying 15+ different docking stations. What really confuses me is that theres software called Dell power manager, and when I changed the default setting from Adaptive to Standart it did work for some time with any docking station, when it stops it would only work from switches/routers that have PoE ports. All power adapters that I used for testing are 90W. I'm out of ideas here, any help would be appreciated.

Dell Studio 1735 dosn't charge battery + corrupted charging socket.

Hi, everyone.

I've Dell Studio 1735, which doesn't charge the battery.

When I plug in a charger all the way I hear a sound of short - the laptop doesn't power on. there is a green light on the charger that's usually lit, now it's off.

when I pull the plug 1/8" out, I could hear the "short" again, and laptop powers on. Charger's light is on.

I suspect that this short sound is due to burnt charging circuit.

BTW, whoever designed 3-contact plug???

I checked terminals that feed the battery - 3.34V (on five pins, 2 "longs" pins are "-").

I need your ideas on find the fault and fix it. Picture doesn't show it well - the center "double" contacts are burnt, there is the same burn on the inner tip of charger's plug.

Dell Installed some SupportAssist Components - Yikes

I made a mistake and allowed Dell to install some SupportAssist components today.  I have seen quite a few errors created for the Dell Software, (SARemediation) but nothing like this... They all happened this morning between 12:56:22 and 12:56:29.

I am posting this in case someone at Dell may need to know... 1568 errors in 7 minutes seems like a lot.

The error says:

DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service TrustedInstaller with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:

{752073A1-23F2-4396-85F0-8FDB879ED0ED}

Is anyone using a Dell XPS13 with Cubase?

I am seriously thinking of buying an XPS 13 in a few weeks when they get refreshed with the 8th generation quad-core i7-8550U?

One of my main uses will be as a digital audio workstation with Cubase.

Is anyone using Cubase 9 (or an earlier version) with an existing XPS13?

Are there any particular problems that I should know about?

Black Screen while machine is still running - Dell Inspiron 27 7000

Hi,

I received a Dell Inspiron 27 7000 all-in-one pc early this week. I have used it in the last couple of nights (very light usage). The machine randomly goes black screen quite a few times every day. I can only force shut down the machine in order to reboot when the problem occurs. What's even worse, there are different issues when I try to start it again. Sometimes it complains I am using a non-genuine AC power adapter but of course I am. Other times it just shows different colors in full screen mode. Then the only way to start the machine is by unpluging it from the powerpoint for a few minutes so it somehow restarts from scratch.

Another interesting observable was: When I was doing skype screen sharing with my friend last night, it suddently had the black screen problem. I could still talk to my friend but no longer able to see the screen. Because I was sharing the screen, my friend saw the error message on my screen: Power surge on USB Port. Not sure if it's relevant but I looked it up online . Tried reinstall all the USB controllers but did not help.

I have also done all the windows updates, dell updates, drive updates but the problem remains unfixed.

I am an IT professional so good at troubleshooting most of the problems. This one seems to be a defect in the hardware/drivers.

Can any one please help?

Azure NB290 Wifi + BT Combo

So I had a Intel Wifi and Realtek Bluetooth in my Precision M6500. I couldn't get the BT to work in Windows. So I decided to take both cards out and replace with Combo Card Azure NB290 which is a Broadcom card.

Now BT works out of the box, but Wifi will not work. BIOS will not even detect, says Unknown Device. I'm running A10 version of BIOS which is the latest.

Any ideas?


Inspiron 15z 5523 - OS issue, fails to boot

My laptop is 4-5 years old and it's failed to boot since Tuesday after it cut out while in use on Monday night.

So far I've tried

Safe mode to remove recent software (NowTV media player)

System refresh

System restore

Running diagnostics/ePSA (no issues)

Initially I was getting different error codes (bad_pool_header, kernel_security_check_failure, ntfs_file_system and some others) seemingly at random so I decided to just do the system restore after all else failed.

Since then though it seems to be stuck on a preparing automatic repair start and crash when after displaying the logo. I've failed to find my recovery disc and after searching for my service tag on the support page there wasn't a stored image for my laptop available to download either.

Is there anything else I can try without needing to purchase a new version of Windows or having to locate a backup disc?

I got SCAMMED by Dell Store(Thane, India) into buying Dell 5577 laptop

I wanted to buy a new laptop and found out about Dell 5577 on the internet. I wanted to know more about it. So in the evening, I went to nearby official Dell Store in Swastik Plaza, Vasant Vihar, Thane(W).
Over there, I met Sandeep Kanade, who is the customer representative at the store. He showed me a Dell 5577 which was on display. I tried it out for a few minutes.
The laptop was good but the display looked somewhat off. The colors were not vibrant and picture quality looked dull.
Before going to the store, I had read on the internet that recent Dell laptops have TN displays with poor screen quality. An alternative to TN is IPS display which has much better display quality.
So while I was trying out the on-display Dell 5577 laptop, I asked Sandeep if this display is IPS or TN. To which he replied that its an IPS display. Then I asked the price of the laptop. He said its 85,000 Rs.
Then I asked, what if there is an issue with laptop in first few days? He said that if there is any issue with the laptop, within the first week of purchase, he will replace it.
I told him that I will come by next morning to do the payment.
September 2nd, 2017
 
I went to the store to ask about EMI options. Over there, I again asked Sandeep, if the screen is IPS or not. He replied that the screen is IPS.
I looked at the EMI options and didn't like them. So I decided to do the payment in full and went back home to get the amount.
Meanwhile, Sandeep then sent his store assistant to get the laptop from Mulund godown.
He told me that once his assistant is back, he will call me on my number.
In the evening, around 6PM, I got a call from him asking me to come to store to collect the laptop and make the payment. After reaching the store, his assistant unboxed the laptop so that I can check if everything is OK.
The display still looked off and I once again asked Sandeep is the display is IPS or not. To which he again said thats it's an IPS display.
I confirmed with him that if there is any issue with the laptop within first week, the laptop will be replaced. To which he said yes.
Then I made the payment of 85,000 Rs and took the laptop home.
That night, I was watching videos on YouTube and noticed colors are looking dull. I played videos on 1080p and the quality was still poor. I also watched Netflix in HD and the issue persisted.
Then I finally checked the Dell website for info on 5577. It was clearly written on Dell India website
"See every move your character makes with a FHD (1920x1080) anti-glare TN panel display."

Next day around 12:30PM, I called Sandeep(the Dell Store representative) and told him that the display quality is bad and colors look dull.
I again asked him if the screen is IPS or not. To which he said the display is IPS.
I took the laptop to Dell store at 2PM. There I asked Sandeep to call some technical person who actually knows about the laptop.
He then called one of his contacts to confirm if the screen is IPS or TN. The person on the other end of the phone said its a TN display.
Now Sandeep CHANGED HIS STATEMENT and says that its a TN display.
He then goes on to say, that he had said its an IPS display only once since I asked him only once.
This guy is trying to bury his head in the sand by ignoring that its a serious issue. It was clear that I have been cheated into buying a Dell laptop.
I confronted him that he earlier said that the display was IPS but I got at TN and I wanted an IPS display. I have been asking this from the moment I entered the store if the screen is IPS or not. I have asked this on multiple occasions to which every time Sandeep confirmed that its an IPS display.
I have read on the internet that IPS display is better than TN that's why I have been asking about the display from the moment I entered the store.
I told him that I want IPS display. So just the replace the display. To which he called the same technical person on the phone and asked if Dell 5577 comes with an IPS display. The person on phone said that Dell 5577 doesn't even have the option of IPS screen.
I clearly told Sandeep, that he promised a Dell 5577 with IPS display and the one that he sold to me is not with IPS display. If he would have told me that this model doesn't come with IPS display, I would have asked him to show me another one. But instead he promised me one thing and sold me another.
At that point, I said, I don't care about any of this just give me the IPS display. He then said, that he will refund me the entire amount.
I told him since he has made such a mess, the least he can do is refund my 85,000 Rs. He repeated that he will refund me the entire amount.
Once again, he called the same technical person and asked him how to initiate a refund. The person on the other end said that amount can't be refunded since the warranty on laptop has started.
This is ridiculous and irresponsible. One minute ago, he himself says that he will refund the entire amount and now he says he won't be able to refund it. He doesn't know about the laptop or the policies. Does this guy know anything at all?
I reminded him, that he himself said if within first week there's any issue he will replace the laptop. Even though this is a scam, he is neither replacing nor refunding.
On top of that, he even bragged, that has done many sales in the past and the display issue which I am describing is not an issue at all. Many customers have bought laptops from him and no one had any issues. How is any of that relevant?
Not even 24 hrs after buying, the official Dell Store representative goes back on everything he promised. How am I supposed to ever trust Dell again? When the representatives are changing their statements as per their convenience. And not giving a *** about the customers or their hard earned money.
I have had enough already. Kindly look into this case and refund my money.

My Inspiron 13 7000 series turns on w/o battery but not with the battery. The battery is a brand new one purchased from Dell.

Any suggestions on why with the battery in it does turn on is appreciated.

Preparing automatic repair - black screen asus laptop

I bought this laptop 1 year ago and it's been 2 or 3 days since this message appeared on the screen and I let it "repair" for over 10 hours, then the screen became black and I couldn't use it. Since then It doesn't boot.

Every time I restart it, I see "Asus" and "Preparing automatic repair", after about 30 seconds the screen turns black.

I've been trying literally anything, I can't change the battery because it is inside the 'hard case' (I don't know how to call it) I don't care about the files, I just need the laptop.

I've also tried to reset W10 using a USB 3.0 and Create Windows 10 installation media from the official site, even entering the BIOS: nothing works.

It can recognize the Usb as a device, but the consequences are the same (even though the Asus logo appears and "Preparing automatic repair" doesn't).

I really don't know. I wish I could find something to solve this without going to the experts.

PSA Diagnostic HDD Error 2000-0146.

Hard disk failed to start some three months after automatic Windows 10 upgrade. Subsequent efforts to load Dell repair utility proved futile. Ran PSA that listed Hard disk error. Does HDD Error 2000-0146 mean certain death of hard disk and require replacement as clean fresh install of Windows 10 returned System Thread Exception Not Handled or Bad Pool Header error alternatively.

I bought laptop 7566 inspiron in April. After 3 month my computer suddenly died. Guys at service center said that problem with motherboard!!! HOW could it happen with a new laptop?!? Now I'm steel waiting a new part. I'm waiting already for 20days! Can I ask to change this laptop for a new one? How long it will be? I'm from Russia. I bought my laptop in Moscow. Laptop made in China..
