Went to turn my laptop on today and it wouldn't power up.  DC power supply light is out so I changed wall plugs and the green light came back on and plugged it into the laptop.  Green light goes away and I call up Dell.  

Dell support claims the motherboard and DC input will need to be replaced and that it will take about 12 business days not including shipping to complete this.  I'm in school for computer science and my class starts next Wednesday so I will probably have to purchase a new laptop to replace this Inspiron as I need a laptop.

Quite disappointed in the system as it wouldn't handle dual monitors properly.  There was significant lag in the monitors from the laptop.  

Does anyone know if priority repairs can be set up?

Either way, I would honestly avoid this laptop unless it's for casual use and you aren't reliant on it.

Anyone else run into issues such as this?

Hi. I would like to unpack the Dell Latitude D530 BIOS exe file without running the bios flash tool (to modify the BIOS boot logo). How would I go about unpacking it? And how to unpack the propietary .hdr file containing the rom?

I purchased Dell inspiron 5577 yesterday and its screen is flickering, any idea how to resolve it? Or should I ask for new laptop. As this is the basic thing and if it is not working than there is no sense of such high expense laptop.

I updated all the drivers still no success.

As heating is somewhat high in 5577 so can the speed of the fan of this laptop be controlled? And If it can be controlled then how? Or by using which software?

Hey, I really need help. I'm having problems with my laptop. It's a dell inspiron 7559 and was bought around January. Recently I have seen that the battery has no longer been as hot as it used to be when I first started using it. Along with the sleeve on the tip of the screen power adapter (below the part where the adapter lights up) has started to come off, exposing the wires. The battery has continually dropped down its percentage rate ever since I bought it, and it won't go back up. It is currently at 0% battery life and it says when you highlight over the battery icon ( plugged in, not charging). It also happens to show the BIO setup when I start the computer and shows that the batteries wattage and type cannot be determined. In the BIOS setup, the ac adapter type is unknown. The battery has not been through any harsh conditions along with the laptop. I have tried removing the battery, starting up the computer with the ac adapter (which is 130 watts), then adding the battery back, and ac adapter, then turning it on, but it had no effects. If I remove my ac adapter while my computer is on ,it instantly turns off. If someone can support me with this issue, it would be gladly appreciated. Thanks.

It took 3.35 min to shut down and with restart it was 4.28, then it will take more time to connect to internet and get websites loaded.

 

 

Problems- wifi used to turn off automatically without notice because teredo got disabled multiple times , repair centre told me that OS if forcing it to disable and i did updated OS yesterday, except 1 update, still i am facing this issue.

Other issues- too slow shut down since the last time this laptop was serviced in warranty . evem after turning on, it takes time for laptop to start working.

3. Laptop hampers productivity during busy hours. hangs                                                                   

4 . Laptop screen went on and off multiple times in past.

5. keyboard didnt work

System blocks wifi

laptop hang

dell website insecure as per av, and not encrypted!

dell service centre misbehaved and doesnt want to find error,same with dell executive who came home to change keyboard.

USB  socket is loose

I am not able to install Tor on licensed version of OS, cant even use chat feature to contact dell, why/?

Toredo keeps getting disabled and doesnt get enabled on few networks, whats the issue?

Hey support,

I forgot my BIOS password on DELL Inspirion 5720. The leptop was not in use for three years, and now I would like to prepaire it for my son, as he will need it for school. I allready misstyped password three times, and now I have on display UNLOCK KEY HINT NUMBER. I called DELL service/dealership in my country, but they were not able to help me.

Is there a way to unlock my computer ?

How many other Dell customers have recently bought Dell Laptops and had MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE PRODUCT!  I have had to replace mother boards, received one without Windows installed and many other Issues!  6 of the 14 that I purchased had issues.  Would like to see how many other customers had similar issues?

About 4 days ago, my laptop keyboard randomly stopped working. I have never had issues with it in all 4ish years of owning this laptop, I did not drop it recently, spill a drink on it, etc. I was able to log into my computer perfectly fine but then after that it just completely stopped working. I was able to pull up the touch keyboard and I noticed that every time I'd turn caps lock on on the touch keyboard the light would light up on my actual laptop keyboard. That was the only sign of life coming from the keyboard and even that I could only control from the touchscreen keyboard. After that I searched around on the internet for a bit and tried these things:

1) made sure I had the latest BIOS update (went through dell and downloaded the most recent driver for it)

2) I tried cleaning the keyboard and removing/reconnecting it to the laptop. 

3) I tried restoring my laptop to a previous version from about a week ago, before the most recent update since this problem started happening.

4) I messed around with the sticky keys, languages settings, etc. None of it worked

5) I uninstalled the keyboard drivers, turned off my laptop, and let windows reinstall it. Something I saw as a common fix online 

6) I went through the dell online support program they have. I ran a couple tests for the whole computer and the only one that came out as not being fine was the keyboard one. This was the result: https://gyazo.com/68a32c0a1d7b0e53768e085e233f02c4
really didnt help at all except to confirm that my keyboard obviously isnt working..

7) finally after all of that, as a last ditch effort I bought a new keyboard. It came in today and I plugged it all in and got the same result. The only response I get from the keyboard is when turning caps lock on on the touch keyboard.

8) lastly, something I was really trying to avoid, I reset my laptop and the problem is still occurring.

If anybody has any suggestions I would be happy to hear them. I've tried everything I could find and think of to try and fix it and I would really like to avoid having to pay to get it looked at and fixed. Could there possibly be some other part of my laptop not working that I should try fixing or replacing? As a side note I dropped my laptop about 6 months ago and made the headphone jack crack and shatter which I was able to fix. I don't think me dropping it that long ago is what caused this, but who knows. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if you need any more information or have questions I will try my best to answer them.

Described here. I have a problem with finishing work on "unknown device". For a moment, after installing from the DELL (www.dell.com/.../advanced) driver "ST Microelectronics Free Fall Sensor Driver ", file DRVR_WIN_R309372.EXE Device Manager has stopped showing that there is an" unknown device "in the configuration. After updating to "ST Microelectronics Free Fall Sensor Driver", the Chipset_Driver_RCHTX_WN_2.00.10.34_A11.EXE file, from the same DELL page, again appeared in the configuration unknown device.

I decided to remove the ST Microelectronics Free Fall Sensor Driver from the system via the Control Panel to install only DRVR_WIN_R309372.EXE. Unfortunately, the installation can not be resumed, the message "Found incompatible installation of, Version. Please uninstall it via Control Panel Add / Remove Programs before installing this version of Accelerometer". The problem is that Control Panel no longer shows this application. Suspecting that there were some traces left after the previous installation, I tried to remove them from the File Manager and also edited the registry. In the registry I searched for: "R309372", "RCHTX", "Microelectronics", "AccelerometerP11", "Freefall". I deleted the entries containing the above characters.
 
I would be grateful for directional guidance on how to proceed further. I am using Windows 10 64 bit Dell Precision M4500.

My Dell Laptop (N5110) is charging extremely slow (about only 1% rise in 24 hours continous charging). The battery health shows that battery is performing normally.

My battery is about 4 years old

Some how i managed to charged upto 16% but when i unplug charger, the battery level goes down very fast.

Do i need to change my battery or my problem is something else?

Is the message "battery is performing normally" fake?

when i connect a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth speaker simultaneously i am facing the issue like the mouse cursor shows a lag in the movement and the songs from the Bluetooth speaker also get distorted.

But when i use these devices one at a time they work perfectly.

I am using a Inspiron 7559 Laptop which i think has a v4.1 bluetooth which supports multiple devices.

I also updated the bios and all the drivers and windows OS to the latest versions available still the problem is not resolved.

Hope someone has a fix for it.

Hello i had an issue with a brand new Dell Vostro 3568 with Atheros WiFi that gave this error on each reboot:

A corrected hardware error has occurred.

Windows 10 Pro latest version, the problem was present in any windows 7.8... and linux 

went to service, they changed the mainboard, the error still present, changed WiFi to Dell Wireless 1707 and the error went away.

Now i have a new Vostro 3568 with Intel 3165 WiFi (2 days old), i was thinking that would not have the same issue with the Intel card but same problem:

I have Dell Precision M4700. It has original 87Wh battery (Type R7PND). But as the laptop has been used for several years now (4.5 years), the battery is getting old (lasts about 20 minutes). So, I bought a new battery. This time the type is: FV993 (97 Wh), Dell original. The problem is, the laptop doesn't recognize the battery. I even replaced the new battery (with another instance of the same type).

How it is not working. When I put the battery in, the battery led starts blinking yellow. When I check in Windows, it shows that there is no battery. I tried turning power off and took the battery out for a while and put the battery back in. Still the same.

Now, when I unplug the adapter (and the battery is in) when the power is on, it works on battery. Windows recognizes the battery and everything kind of works. When I plug the adapter back on, the batter is still recognized, but it says "not charging".

When I turn the power off and start the computer on battery only, it works and no led is blinking - everything seems normal. And when I plug the power cable back up, the charges the battery.

Can anyone give me some ideas, why it is like that? Is the new battery type wrong for my laptop? In specs it says that this battery suits for my laptop.

I have upgraded BIOS etc. Even run diagnostics - but as I had power cable on, it didn't recognize the battery at all.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I need to replace my battery for my DELL INSPIRON 15-5000 i5 1TB HDD 8GB RAM I'm concerned thought after zi buy it it the plugged in power still wont charge the battery. Is this a problem that may occur  & if so how do I fix it?
