The Driver will not install on my XPS 13 9360 and continues to call for a Reboot.  I am using the Dell SupportAssist.

My Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559 Laptop will not power on. The power light on the front of the laptop blinks 7 white lights ands 2 orange when I try to power the laptop on. I tried a different charger no help. I tried swapping the memory with my other 7559 latptop and no power up. Need help?

I have two laptops, a Dell Inspiron 5758, and a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming that I just received. The colors on the latter are beautiful in every area except for one - in the internet browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) some colors seem washed out or different. I'd share screens of this, but when I bring the screens over to the Inspiron 5758, they look completely normal, so I'm assuming they'll look completely normal here as well. I've been trying to find solutions to this on my own to no avail (the closest I've managed to come is thinking it might have something to do with Nvidia), and at this point, I'm not sure if this is something I'll be able to find a fix for, or if I'll need to send it in for repairs for. Anyone know what I can do about this?

Latitude 7480 wifi radio disabled after undocking - Intel 8265 wifi chip - Windows 10

When I undock the laptop by pulling the USB-C cable out (either sleeping beforehand or not sleeping first) then I am getting an intermittent issue where the wifi claims to be disabled. The only way to resolve this is a hard reboot.

Toggling airplane mode doesn't help. Disabling and reenabling the wifi network connection doesn't help. Toggling airplane mode from Fn-PrtScr doesn't help.

It is acting as though the hardware radio is turned off (like when laptops used to come with a hardware radio switch), but with no method to turn it on again.

Looking in the system event log I can see entries from source Netwtw04, Event ID 7012 stating "radio OFF"

Drivers and bios are all up to date.

Any ideas?

Inspiron 15 (4210u) max ram support

I have bought A dell inspiron 15 4210u. it has 4 GB of ram, but I want to install an 8  or 16 GB ram.

The question is if I install a 8 or  16  gb ram which one will work ?

no matter what page I am on it gets bigger up to 500% and smaller down to 35%. It is driving me crazy. How can I stop this ? and whats up with the robot thing I must have just done 10 pages of it.  why.

Inspiron 17R 5721 processor Upgradeable?

A young friend was just given his 'great aunt's' Inspiron 17R 5721 that has an i5 1.8GHz processor in it (according to what he is telling me), which is maybe a bit disappointing (IMHO).  ORDINARILY I would suggest 'upgrading' this to something more capable, but I've 'heard thru the grapevine' that this processor is soldered on the mobo so its not removable ..?  Really guys? is this true..?

He wants to improve the performance of this as much a possible, so we're sticking a 250 GB SSD into it (clean load of Win10 on it) and taking the old disk out for installation into a USB external enclosure.  RAM already sits at 16 GB, so that's more than sufficient (IMHO), and my next suggestion was a 'better' i5 chip, but I'm hoping someone will tell me that what I heard is ***, and I CAN replace this processor with something 'better'... (???)  Any chance of this..?

I have a new XPS 9560 with a Killer wireless card. The card is killing my local network even after updating it to the newest drivers. I had to downgrade it to an older Qualcomm driver to get it to stop doing that. But the card is still slow.

I bought this laptop last week through the Dell site. IT HASN'T BEEN 30 DAYS. I have never had such an awful experience with any sort of support personnel in any company. This guy just literally cut me off without any warning, after I was transferred to him from another clueless tech who said the only solution was to replace the whole laptop (the problem is just a wifi card).

I am returning this XPS because of my terrible experience with Dell. I will *never* purchase another Dell laptop/PC ever again.

Edit: Never mind on this, I think! Someone came over and helped me figure out a solution. It turned out to be the blue saturation/hue was off quite a bit on it.

No Boot Device Available: Built-In Diagnostics Won't Run

I'm working on a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series notebook.  At boot, I'm getting the,  "No bootable devices, strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility, press f5 to run onboard diagnostics," message.

I can go into BIOS, but I cannot run the diagnostics.  It just stays on the above message, and hitting any key causes it to repeat.  The Boot options in the Bios are also locked out so I cannot restore factory defaults.

I have not yet removed the hard drive to test it.  The Bios issue and the inability to access the onboard diagnostic makes me wonder about a motherboard issue and/or Bios corruption by a virus.

I would appreciate any information on what not being able to run the diagnostic means and thoughts on doing a Bios update and/or resetting it by removing the battery from the motherboard.

I've also run into information about resetting the Management Mode: (add the www)

Inspiron 5545 AC charger not recognized (Battery plugged in, not charging)

All, my Inspiron 15 5000 15-5545 is having an error with the battery charger saying that it is not recognized and that the charger will not charge my computer.  I know that this is an official Dell charger (it is the charger that came with the laptop) - so there shouldn't be an identification issue.  

I have noticed that there is a pin problem, however.  There are six pins in the laptop charging port (2 for charger identification in the middle and the four other pins that connect to the charger itself at the 3, 6, 9, and 12-o'clock positions).  Whenever I plug in my charger the pin at the 6-o'clock position gets bent upward towards the 2 identification pins.  This may also be bending the identification pins upward, but I am not sure because it looks like they are in the same place, just the 6-o'clock pin is not in the same place.  

I believe that this may be the issue, and has this happened to many people before?  Is there a permanent solution to this?  Do I need to replace my charging port?

Day old computer went into support assist mode should I return it?

I'm just tired of this new computer already.  Why did support assist popup on a computer that was a day old.  Laptop got stuck when a new standard user signed in.  Had to hard power off after waiting a few minutes.  Then hard power off a few more times to get rid of the support assist at start up.  Then finally the computer boots.  OMG really hard power offs a few times fixed the problem.  I didn't want to go through the learning experience of see support assist fixed the computer.  OMG support assist caused the problem.

Later.

I finally sign in with standard user Dell pops up a dialog asking  to download and install new software.  OMG you are not allowed to ask standard users to install missing software.

So here I am maybe I return it the day after tomorrow.  

Later I've got the standard user that locked up at boot deleted and I've wasted 8 hours just watching the computer update but still feel like I should return it.  Maybe fdisk a hidden sector a say the hard drive is the wrong size.

Replaced cell battery correct boot(loses time and date). Failing a to power on fixed by moving power adapter connector in its slot,, obviously loose connection. Also will fix if need be but this is my backup Dell.

Overheating and/or loud fan on Inspiron 13 7000

The fan on my laptop is often times going off at full blast. I do not believe this is physical damage, because I did not drop or otherwise damage my machine when it started having a loud fan. I have also checked for dust accumulation, and there is little. My computer has the latest updates from dell, and I have done a quick scan on the system that didn't work. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed similar issues like this, and how I might be resolve my problem.

E5470 sata port question

Hi,

I replaced the hdd with a samsung evo ssd, and it's only running at sata gen2 speed. Can someone confirm this is expected for this laptop.

I have attached some screenshot from wfinfo64. It says in the SATA Host Controller that it should support Gen3 for the ports

I got the puter second hand so I miraculously don't have a booklet or any other hard copy to look upon, The port in question is smack in the middle of the bottom if the machine is folded up. It's about as wide as a firewire socket and I really don't want to experiment, you know? The machine is way out of warranty and I don't have a fallback.  If it is firewire then groovy, I can attach it to my Mac devices without slowing down the data flow by converting to usb and back to firewire. There are some apparently mucked up numbers or letters above the port but they're a) mucked up and b) black on black.

I have the same unpredictable and dangerous problem...

It is dangerous because some times the laptop turns itself on inside my backpack and it gets very hot, without me noticing it. Dell's Chris answer is honest, but ... it does not solve the real issue. I expected more competence from Dell's team specially for their top of the line product.

Stylus for Inspiron 15-5568? Can somebody help me find the right stylus for this computer?

I bought an inspiron 15-5568 so that one of my tutors could use it as a tablet as well but the computer did not come with a stylus. I check the computer's specs and for the Pen and Touch category, it read "Touch support with 10 touch points". Is it possible to use an active stylus with this computer? I found that the dell's active stylus pen is compatible with the 5578 model, but is it compatible with the 5568?
