I replaced the battery in my Inspiron 14Z-5423 ( I did this once before with no problems). This time, the laptop booted up and everything looked ok but the only 7 keys working on the keyboard . I thought it was a bad keyboard, so I replaced that and now the same keys only work on the new keyboard. I checked all the cables that I unhooked to get the battery out and all appear ok. An external usb keyboard works fine.

Dell Studio 1458 not woking
Hello.
I have a problem with my Dell Studio 1458 laptop. Service Tag: <Service tag removed> (Purchase on Feb 2010)
When i turn on the power button, the power indicator above the power input port blinks with 4 red and one white colour. And after few seconds the power indicator blinks only red colour.
No Display turned on, No heatsink fan sound(not running) and only i can hear HDD running.
I tried switching the power button on without the battery. But i still face the same problem.
Can you please help issue.

Precision m4800 behavior after a19 bios upgrade
After a19 bios update, if laptop is powered down and then powered up without disconnecting the power supply, the 4 cores exhibit high use, speed, and temp even in idle and do not reduce over time. If the power supply is disconnected for at least 45 seconds prior to startup and then connected, laptop powers up to normal idle of 798mhz core speed and 42C-ish cores temp with little core load. Have repeated this behavior 20 times.

Dell Vostro 1520 no login screen
Hi
My laptop upgraded to windows 10 and all was fine until one day randomly it decided not to go past this blue start up screen where the login screen would usually have been.

Has anyone figured out how to get the laptop touchpad to stay disabled?
I have a 7353 and when I disable the touchpad, it either doesn't do it, or it enables again upon restart. I have seen many people asking about this, and no one seems to have an answer that works.

Alienware 15 R2 Returned from repair center SCRATCHED
Had to send my alienware 15 r2 in for repairs under warranty, received my laptop back this morning after 4 weeks, the lid cover is heavily scratched (this had no scratches prior to sending in for repairs) the macro keys which i had to purchase new one of the keys is bent, the keyboard when typing feels like its made of sponge, NOT HAPPY!!
My warranty is now ended, how can this be resolved? HELP

Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth(R) Technology not installing.

XPS15 9550 touchpad starting to lift up, buttons not working
I've had my XPS15 for over a year now, and I recently noticed that my touchpad is starting to life off the palm rest area of the machine, and the buttons no longer work. I'm not exactly sure when this happened because I'm a staunch mouse user and hardly ever use the touchpad. Is this an item that can be repaired under warranty? Also, is this a commonly reported problem with this model?

Laptop only works when plugged in
Its only been the second day of me using my new laptop, and already I'm having a major problem with it.
My Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming now only works when it is connected to the AC Adapter, and whenever I remove it, it turns off immediately.
It says that the laptop is charging, although it has been stuck on 93% for hours as of the time I am writing.
What is the solution to this problem?
Please reply as soon as possible.

brand new laptop with errors
Brand new Dell laptop w/i7 processor having error messages:
1) self test unsuccessful and given a QR code said to scan with mobile device
2) no bootable device found (says possible causes could be corrupt OS image or bootable device not enabled in BIOS.
Why would a brand new laptop (bought @Office Depot) be doing this?

Likely going to buy an XPS 13, but I have one question.
After much research and reading other threads, general consensus is that Dell would begin implementing their A02 motherboard xps 13's in March. That's FIVE months ago. Yet i'm reading reviews as recent as May that people are still dealing with the coil whine issue. If I order directly from the dell site (as opposed to new egg, amazon, etc) can I be assured I will get the A02 motherboard to mitigate the coil whine?
I keep hearing things like "i'm just learning to deal with it" which is absolutely ridiculous when talking about a $1500+ laptop. I'm planning on getting it with the i7 processor, HD screen (no 4k touch), and 16 gig of ram. Discrete ticking noises that you can only hear in a quiet room or by putting your ear to the machine is acceptable, but the loud screech i see in some youtube vids is ridiculous. I will not be one of those users "just learning to deal with it". I'd rather have my lap burnt off by the hp spectre's high operating temps.

Black screen and 8 beeps dell 15r turbo 7520
I had this problem with my laptop whenever I switched it on there was black screen with 8 beeps it starts sometimes by putting the screen at a specific angle to keyboard what could be the issue. It starts sometimes but like after 15 -20 tries and sometimes it starts without any problem.

Connect to ethernet and wi-fi simultaneously
I'm currently running Windows 10 Enterprise on my Dell Studio 1555 laptop.
This is not the first time I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise. Before I format my laptop to reinstall a fresh version of Windows 10 Enterprise, I can connect and receive connections from both ethernet and wi-fi simultaneously. However, after I install a fresh version of windows, instead of receiving connections from both ethernet and wi-fi, i only receive connections from ethernet while the status of connection for both is listed as "connected". If I plug out the ethernet cable, the wi-fi connection will be working fine. I had gone through forums and the possibility of a altered BIOS setting is one of them. If so, how do I fix it in BIOS setup, if not, what are the other options? Please help. Thanks.

I have removed the battery, drained the power, and reattached battery and adapter.
I have tried a different adapter.
I have cleaned all the connections.
When I unplug and plug the adapter in, it's connecting to the laptop because my screen brightens up (due to my power saver options).
STILL, battery is not charging. Down to 50%.
PLEASE HELP! I have a convention to attend Wednesday and am desperate. Thank you!

Inspiron 15, 7537 will not boot from Macrium Reflect Rescue USB Flash drive
Inspiron 15, 7537 with recently installed SSD and clean Windows 10 Home + added programs, data, settings, etc.
A few days ago, I logged in as Administrator to change her profile name. Long story short, the OS got stuck and couldn’t get rid of one of the logons and I could only enter the OS as a temp and that work would be deleted after logout.
I tried two restore points. Both installed ok per OS but both had a non-operating ‘left click’ Start button.
I then went to boot from the Macrium Reflect rescue bootable USB flash drive to do an image restore.
The following are my failed attempts (I confirmed that the flash drive would boot Reflect on my laptop):
1. F12 on boot loads the following boot screen:
UEFI Boot: Secure Boot On:
Windows Boot Manager (thought I’d get a list but the machine booted as normal)
Onboard NIC – Ipv4
Onboard NIC – Ipv6
Other Options:
Setup
Diagnostics
Peripheral Device Setting (OPROM Setting)
Change boot mode setting (I selected this, then Legacy, then USB, but the result was ‘Operational system not found’
2. Set the BIOS option to UEFI, Secure BootOFF, F12 to Boot Menu Options.
The F12 boot screen now showed Legacy as an optional category and did have the USB option, however, booting to same resulted in the same, previous ‘Operational system not found’. I hit Esc, got <<Start PxE over IPv4>> and then I shutdown and restarted into the OS with bad start button.
3. Google search result for this machine:
F2 on restart
Select Boot tab and change to Legacy Boot, Secure Boot Off
Restart shows the boot sequence and the order can be changed to USB, I did
Restart and the same the result as previous attempt to boot to USB flash drive ‘Operational system not found’
