Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 5759. I started seeing alerts that the above bios update was available. I haven't installed it yet.

Latitude 3480 questions and upgrades
I've just got a latitude 3480 with an i5 7200u service tag#<Service tag removed>, and would like to squeeze as many upgrades into it as possible. I also have a few questions
- My laptop came with Ubuntu, I have a windows key. Can I dual boot it? Do I get Canonical Ubuntu? From doing some research, Dell seems to have optimized the version of Ubuntu it came with. How do I dual boot that? Are there even any meaningful differences between the two? Can I 'recover' to an SD card if I use the downloadable .iso?
- In the Bios, it mentions SATA 0 and SATA 1. Is there any way to shove another 2.5" drive in there?
- It seems to be a version without a WWAN card pre-installed. Can I drop in a WWAN card and get it that way? There's a slot for it. Where does the SIM card go? Is there a place for the SIM card on the motherboard? Do I have to buy anything else? I see from the 3480 manual that some versions have WWAN support.
- Is there a backlit keyboard I can swap for?
- When I go and try to get a replacement battery from the support page it tells me that the battery is no longer offered. However, when I go through acessories.dell.com, there's batteries available. I can even add them to cart. So can I buy a battery or not?

GPU failure?
I have a Dell Inspiron 7559 w/ i5 and nVidia 960 that just went out of warranty. While playing a game a day after a Windows 10 update the laptop crashed to a blue screen "DHP Watchdog Violation". I ended up factory resetting the laptop and it started up fine. After I reinstalled a few drivers I went to restart to finish the driver process and it will not turn back on. I get the watchdog error again. Then the repair software says repairs can't be done and it never boots again. I tried reformatting the SSD, tried reinstalling it several times, but every time it just boots the first time and never restarts. I'm thinking hardware failure? Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

Inspiron 5567 modifications
There are Inspiron 5567-2655, 5567-2662, 5567-3195, 5567-3201 and 5567-3546 modifications in stores in my town. It says that they are all with i7 7500U, 8GB memory, 1TB HDD and have Radeon R7 M445. OS for all is Win10 Home. I thought that the difference is in the color, but there are three different laptop body coloring and five modifications.
What are the differences between these modifications?

BSOD when gaming on AC power
Hey guys,
I recently bought an XPS 15 9560.
There seems to be an issue and I can't figure out whats the root cause.
So everytime I game on battery, the game runs flawlessly and nothing happens. But when I plug the laptop into AC power, I get a BSOD within 5 mins and the computer restarts on its own. So far the BSOD has shown multiple causes ( RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED , BAD_POOL_HEADER , dxgmms2.sys error , POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA )
I have updated all my drivers but still the problem persists.
Please let me know of a solution.

E7470 firmware upgrade on Linux
Hello,
I'm running CentOS 7 on E7470, and a few of the devices aren't working, like smart card reader, fingerprint reader, etc. According to some sources, deploying the latest ControlVault firmware/drivers package may fix some of those.
The native installer is built for Windows, and I was wondering if it'd be possible to do the upgrade by either booting a Windows portable/live version and running the upgrade, or, copying the installer to a USB and doing an upgrade in the way it's done with BIOS upgrades on Linux?
Perhaps LVFS? (Although compiling that on CentOS 7 is not really straight forward)

Dell Vostro 14 5000, temperature control
During play games or GPU HW testing temperature of GPU very quickly reached 70 degrees. I don't think that it is normal and top of the keybord is too much hot. Do you know how to control perfomance and temperature at Dell notebook? I would like to set max temperature of laptop to 55 degrees. Is that possible by BIOS setting or any software dell monitoring tool?

XPS 9360 BIOS 1.3.7 killed the TB16 dock?
This morning I've upgraded my XPS 9360 to the latest available BIOS (1.3.7). Since the restart I've been experiencing serious issues with my TB16 dock. The USB devices connected via dock are being constantly turned on and off in short intervals which make impossible to operate a mouse, listen to the music (I have an external soundcard) or use a printer...
I thought it might have been some software issue, so I reseted BIOS to the factory defaults - no change. Then I actually reinstalled Windows from the scratch but it hasn't helped either. All my drivers are the latest versions...
Anyone experiences a similar issue with TB16? Can you suggest any resolution / workaround? It would be much appreciated!

Dell XPS 17 L702X Not turning on! :(
I have a Dell XPS 17 L702X and I know this is an old product however, recently I have purchased a new screen, new LCD Ribbon and a brand new battery, I've plugged them all in and it doesn't even seem to turn on even with the AC plugged in! I do see a yellow battery sign near the power but nothing else. Before I had purchased all these items it used to turn on as I heard the windows boot, and when I plugged an HDMI in it worked to the TV but now it doesn't even boot or turn on

Multiple Issues with my 1 year old Inspiron laptop
I bought a Dell Inspiron 5558 a year and a half ago for my daughter. I own many computers with 4 kids in college. This is my first Dell but I thought since we use them at work (software development) I would give them a shot. Within about two months of purchase the hard drive failed and she lost everything and had the send it back for repair. Now about 18 months after purchase the laptop wont charge. It works on AC but wont charge a battery.
I've read several blogs and bought a new battery. I've tried updating the BIOS and finally took it to BestBuy and now they want to send it away again and charge me a bench fee of $35 with no insurance they can fix it.
Are Dell personal laptops really this poorly made? Can anybody help?

I have tried everything I know to do. I am an IT Pro with 30 years experience and this one has me stumped...
With the July cummulative update to Windows 10 15063, the Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth driver has completely failed. It will not load and reports it is corrupted or unusable. Here's what I have tried...
1. Remove and reinstall driver - Fail
2. Ensure latest driver from Dell, remove and reinstall - Fail
3. Download latest driver package from Killernetworking.com - Fail
4. Roll back CU (KB4025342) - Success
5. Reinstall CU (KB4025342) - Installs, but kills the bluetooth driver again
6. Contact Dell Support - Fail - Technician said it's a Microsoft problem and I would have to contact them for support. (Ironically: I just bought this laptop two months ago and purchased a 4year premium support contract!).
7. Roll back CU (KB4025342) permanently - Not possible, as it is managed by our Windows Update Server on corporate domain and would effect everyone. I could do this, but it would be a last resort, and it's unknown what vulnerability I would expose the rest of our W10 clients to.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, what did you do to resolve?
Dell: Can you please investigate and resolve? All bluetooth functionality is broken so long as this CU is in place.

reinstalled hd to 32 bit, very slow wifi
My internet network adapter is too slow for my 32 bit Win 7 OS. It is an Intel Centrino Wireless N1030 (updated).
I tried installing the WiMax 6150 drivers, which it is calling for, but it wouldn't install.
I then tried disabling the N 1030 and during that time, installed the N 6150. That did install but was overridden by the N 1030 when I cold booted. I manually disabled the N 1030 and the N 6150 took over. My internet speed improved 10-fold.
So, I uninstalled the N1030 but then the network controller was gone and nothing worked for wifi.
I then restored to my last Windows update and it all is working but still very, very slow on th N1030.
I got the N 6150 to install but it won't start, assuming I have a conflict.

Base System Device (Windows 10, Studio XPS 1647)
Hello,
I'm having a problem with my devices.
PCI bus 9, device 0, function 1
PCI bus 9, device 0, function 2
In my device manager it states that Base System Devices have warnings. When I look for driver updates it states that driver software could not be found and that i must visit a manufacturers' website. I visited the site, completed the driver detection and it stated that everything was up to date.
Im not sure what to do at this point, please help. Thank you!

dell xps 9560 dead
has anyone else experienced their 9560 just shutting off randomly? mine just went and it wont respond to anything dell told me over the phone so i have to wait for it power down due to the battery which was nearly fully charged, the power light just blinks white now every 5 seconds and thats it, slight click after each blink. its only a couple of weeks old.

I brought this Dell Inspiron 5559 with Service Tag: <Service tag removed> Express Service Code: <Express service code removed> with windows 10 home Prelaoded from Costco.I checked all the ports that time except blue tooth one as i didn't had blue tooth speakers that time.Now i got a Bose sound link mini ll and i paired with laptop .but the audio breaks in between and its not having range even i stand between the speaker and laptop it breaks.But my I phone works superb with this speakers even in other room !!. I updated all the drivers and ran a diagnostics still issue is not resolved.I contacted customer care but they are not able to help me .Does anyone faced this type of issue ?I think its a hard ware issue and next time i won't buy nor recommend Dell .
