I have an XPS 14z i7-2640M laptop. I wish to install an m-sata SSD drive on it - does my model have a port for one? (And just making sure - it's m-sata, not m-2, right?)

BIOS Doesnt boot properly
The BIOS does eventually boot my O.S, which is Windows 10. Though I did find a trick to speed up the 60 tries, (Resetting the BIOS to default settings) it doesnt work after a week of using it. I tried editing the MBR, (it was hard to access the X: drive) but it didnt work. I recently bought a Dell UltraSharp 24, which basically was the time when this happened. My computer is a laptop, a Dell Latitude E6520. I have a BIOS A15, and I dont know if I should update it. So my questions are:
Did anyone find a fix to this problem?
Or should I update my BIOS?

Dell 7720 Inspiron USB 3.0 drivers dead
I have seen yellow exclamation marks with the USB drivers !
I uninstalled all of them then restart and at that time THERE IS not a single
working USB socket !!! (before : 4 right sockets )
All sockets are "dead" !
I have windows 10 , please help me to reach my USB connections again !
I have the Driverbooster 4 program and all drivers checked !
They are all up to date and there is not a single MISSING driver !

Low FPS in games, only started happening recently
I need some help, I have the Dell Inspiron N5558 laptop. I use my laptop for studies and to play games on. When I first got the laptop I was able to play many games fine with decent FPS. Recently I have not been able to play any games at all because of the FPS issue, some games include League of Legends, CSGo and even minecraft. The FPS is so low that I cant even move in some of the games without glitching. I used Benchmark.exe to run tests on hardware and everything was fine, I used MSI Afterbunner to see if it was maybe the GPU temperature but everything was fine. I even sent the laptop in and no faults were found. Running tests via the BIOS also said everything was normal. Any help would be great.

Latitude E5470 random freeze when used with E-Port II
Hi,
I have a Latitude E5470 which is used with an E-Port II docking station.
Several times over the past few weeks the laptop has completely locked, dual monitors still displaying, mouse & keyboard not responding. If you remove the laptop from the docking station you get no display.They only thing that you can do is turn the laptop off by holding down the power button.
They system has the latest drivers/bios installed - all up to date in dell command update..
There is no pattern to the lock ups, happened at different times and whilst in different applications. Totally randomly.

Disable Touchpad Tap on Dell-1545 with Windows 10
Search for touchpad turned up over 27000 hits, so sorry if this is redundant.
Windows 10 has installed a generic PS/2 Compatible Mouse driver on my Dell 1545. No suitable driver is available for W10 from either Dell or Alps. (R270497 ran when I first installed W10 but MS has somehow decided it is no longer operable after the "Anniversary Update" and refuses to install it.)
I am happy with the way the touchpad works with my Alps touchpad exceptfor tapping. I am too clumsy to have tapping active, and would really like to disable it. Of course, the Dell Touchpad Settings software doesn't run on W10. Quickset gives me no access to touchpad settings.
Does anyone know how to disable tapping on that touchpad? Preferably a full-up package to make adjustment like Dell Touchpad Settings used to do. But I would have no problem editing the Registry if someone could point to the proper parameter that would disable it if no full-up package is available.

Can't Go Online after reinstalling Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell E6520
My hard drive died last week on my Dell E6520.
I got my hands on a new hard drive and after connecting it I reinstalled Windows 7 (64 bit).
All went fine. When windows rebooted the screen's resolution needed to be fixed and the computer could not detect any wifi signals nor could it go online via an ethernet wire, etc.
I tried reinstalling all the drivers from the 4 dell CD I had. However, nothing changed.
I went online with a different computer to dell's site and put in my service tag It only listed two BIOS files.
I am at a loss as what to do.

Dell Inspiron 7779 maximum RAM?
I have successfully upgraded my Inspiron 7778 to 32GB RAM with no problems. Is the same upgrade possible for the 7779?
The reason I ask is that the sales rep on live chat told me the i7 version which has 16GB, is single channel and the machine only has one RAM slot on the mainboard. This seems unlikely to me but I thought it was worth asking the question.

Inspiron 15 Screen Problem/Replacement
Hello,
I've been dealing with a problem with my Inspiron 15 where the screen has negative distorted coloration, black and white lines that wash out the colors, and so on. These problems are usually alleviated by applying pressure to the bottom left corner of the screen, and it had usually been manageable - until today. Now the screen only displays distortion.
I know the laptop is not dead (I could still hear audio even when the screen died), so my question is, how easy of a fix is this? Should I just replace the screen, or is there some other component I should replace/fix? Or is this not a fixable problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to explain things like I'm an idiot, as computer hardware is not my speciality. I removed the screen cover to provide a picture of the bottom left pressure area - in case that is any help (

Dell XPS 13 2016 - randomly double clicks to open pages
When say browsing newspapers websites, suddenly pages will be opened that I never clicked to open. The touch pad seems to double click on the link by itself!
How do I fix this annoying thing please?

No bootable devices- -
I was trying to do a factory restore on my Dell Inspiron 14 and lost power to the laptop and it now says no bootable devices and won't go passed that screen. I ran a diagnostic on it and it says all test passed and I F8 isn't working. How can I fix this? Is it fixable?

Dell Vostro 5568
I recently bought a Vostro 5568. My config came with a 1TB harddisk. It has an extra slot for a M.2 2280 SSD. And therefore I bought a Intel SSD 600p 256GB NVMe disk. But the laptop doesn't recognize the disk either in windows or bios. I have tried different settings in bios but no luck. I have tested the SSD on a other system and it recognized the SSD. So either its my configuration in bios that wrong or its a non compatible SSD.
What SSDs does Dell support? Is I doing something wrong?

Inspiron 14 3452 SD card
Got two of these last black friday for my sister and brother in law. Got two ssd's and opened one up to find out there is no way to hook up a 2.5" sata drive (glazed over the note that said either emmc OR hdd) Found a forum thread that states the best solution is an SD card and upgraded ram. Only problem is I see no information on max SD card size allowed or anything to do with speeds.
What SD card should I get and will it work to install program's on? They have put nothing on them and OS takes up entire drive.

Inspiron N5050 BIOS Update
Im in a quandry what to do and I dont fancy gambling and bricking a laptop. I have a customers Dell Inspiron N5050 on the bench, it has a problem with screen blank (but lit) after loading Win10 loading screen (just before logon) the Laptop originally had Win 7 it has BIOS A03. Selecting Basic adaptor driver and dell N5050 Intel Driver (but its for win 7 64 bit, dont see one for windows 10 ) display doesnt solve anything - when screen is blank I can plug in a VGA external display to VGA socket on laptop and the screen shows on external LCD, but it will not show on Laptop - even if I press the FN key and F(whatever key it is to change from laptop screen to external screen) try and switch between screens.
Now I found a BIOS A08 Update on Dell Support, but its for a DELL Inspiron N4050 (which has 14" screen) but it says it is an important update and said it fixes blank screen issue on Windows 8
What to do, what to do? - I have downloaded N4050 A08 BIOS go to run it but havent got the guts to let it run (its looks like it would load it even though is says different model) - I dont want to brick Laptop BIOS. I wonder to go ahead and try flash with N4050 or just roll back the laptop back to its original Win 7?

Dell inspiron 7437 Keyboard backlight
I've noticed that the backlight of the keyboard remains always on. There is no timeout anymore, the light is always on, no matter, I don't type nor touch the mouse pad. The F10 key function correctly.
The system software is fully updated.
Any advice will be much appreciated!

Dell XPS 15z Laptop screen dark shadow problem
Same issue as everyone else, wish I would've looked a little sooner. I've got a March 2012 model and this started just after warranty with a shadow that my kids got blamed for, Don't Touch Dads Laptop, feeling bad about that now.
It slowly moved across my screen until it wasn't worth using the built in display. *** when you buy a laptop and it turns into a really expensive desktop.
The only upside is that i use a 50" screen
If Dell could get passed the 7/10 rule of only 7 out of 10 products have to work correctly to meet expectations and goals just maybe they would have better ratings.
Their honestly lucky theirs so many people in this wonderful world to sucker in.
