Hi ,
My old Vostro 2420's battery gave up the ghost, as it did, the windows 10 1607 stopped detecting it. So I got a new battery.
Put it into the Vostro...it holds a charge! Fantastic....but no detection. I did a hard reset. This didn't help.
I checked the drivers, updated all from Dell, latest stuff.
anybody got any ideas?

I am using my laptop from 4-5 years without any issue but now usually after 5-10 min (some time after 30 min) it gets directly shut off. I thought its a battery problem so I tried charging and using simultaneously and without battery also I found the same issue. Please suggest some idea to out through this issue.
I am owning one dell inspiron 7537 laptop. I had a problem with my laptop LCD(dead pixel) and it got replaced with some refurbished panel just before 2 months. after one month of replacement the screen started to show some problem (flickering / freezing) again I raised service request, this time I asked them to replace a my own lcd panel after serviced. as per the technical support they are ready to replace the part with another refurbished one. they can't replace it my original panel or new one (which I didn't ask) reasons they are saying is like my laptop is old so Dell policy not supports to replace a New Panel to it. OK no problem what I am asking is to get me the original part of my laptop after serviced. There will be no age problem / or dell policy issue. Because I know how much I cared my laptop. And I don’t want someone’s unknown parts that too after refurbished state. Get my laptop’s own part after serviced. Because as you see after fixing a refurbished part, it is not even passed at least a 6 month (most common warranty period) then how much I can blindly trust it again. This is my personal laptop. So I don’t plan to spend another big amount just after the warranty period expires.I have 14 more months remaining my warranty with Accidental cover insurance.

Laptop Model: Inspiron 7537
After updating BIOS to latest version (1.2.13), the battery only charges to 60 percent and then it stops.
- cable is connected and bios shows status as OK.
- if I disconnect and let the battery discharge below 50% the charging will kick in once I reconnect but will only charge until 60%
- tried changing battery modes in BIOS settings - standard / adaptive / express charge but regardless of which mode I choose charging seems to stop at 60%.
- behavior seems to be independent of OS as charging won't pass 60% even if laptop is turned off
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Have I made a huge mistake buying Dell Inspiron 5558, i7, 16gb Ram, Eight months back, Its my first dell purchase.
From the First day First boot machine heats up and shutdown, that time sales person and dell customer support tell me not to worry thermal pest will settle gradually after that machine will be normal.
After that -
1) dell change my heat sink - not resolved.
2) change mother board, update Bios (A11), still problem are not solved,
I haven't even used for 30 min and its heating up; CPU thermister temp. reached up to 93 degree high and low is 67 to 69.
I have windows 8.1 on this machine and it feels so slow on this new machine.
I am fade-up with this machine, infrequently shutdown due to this wants to rework again and again and again !!!!!
There is any solution ?

Now 1 Tb SSD are cheaper than before. Why is it not available in current laptop?
We all know that SSD perform better than HDD and it's very quiet. I think the next laptop when Kaby Lake will be released in November (so new laptop in November or December for christmas?) should have 1Tb SSD.
More SSD sold, better the price will be after right?
Or at least use SSHD?

Can the Dell XPS 15 9550 w/ 4K Touch Display be configured with both a PCIe SSD and a 2.5" drive? Dell Chat Support says "yes", but I have also read that the 4K Touch Display requires the 84WHr battery which extends to fill the space of the 2.5" drive. At 4:44, in the YouTube video below, I think we see that there is no room for a 2.5" drive. But, maybe Dell has a different model option that supports 4K Touch and dual HDD. This question has probably been posted before, but I didn't find by searching.(Please visit the site to view this video)
I am on my 3rd docking station.
The first two reported that my power supply was suppose to be 180w but apparently only 130w was being passed.
My current one only shows 60W.
I have all the BIOS updates for my 7510 and I have followed the procedure for WD15 and it too has the latest updates/drivers and yet, it still will not charge my laptop and I need to also connect my external power supply for it to charge.
Does anyone have this working? Is it suppose to actually charge? Should I return and try yet a 4th docking station?

After a recent Windows update (I am using Windows 10), I have found that there is now acceleration on my built-in trackpad input. That is, the distance my on-screen cursor moves for a given amount of movement of my finger depends on the speed at which I move my finger. This is undesirable.
Normally, mouse acceleration is caused by enabling the "Enhance pointer precision" setting in the mouse settings section of the control panel. However, I have this setting disabled.
Is there any way I can disable this mouse acceleration? Thank you in advance.
here is my problem this was given 2 me and i dont have the owners info and i cannot acess F12 or F2 it was left at my place . it ask for the bios password after the dell logo.
I upgraded the memory in my laptop and Windows won't start and blue screen always appears and it restarts itself. Suggestions on a fix?

I recently got a refurbed M7510 with 16GB memory and my intention was to replace the memory to get 64GB total.
So, I bought a 64GB kit, and started to open up the M7510.
I removed the battery cover, battery and the bottom cover, and I see 2 empty SODIMM slots, but I can't see any way to get to the 2 (apparently) 8GB sticks that are already installed (chip-side down)!!
Can anyone tell how to remove those 2 memory modules?

I've now discovered it's not my backup drive that doesn't work through my WD15 - it's that none of the USB 3 ports work, with anything. My conversation with Tech Support was, although not for lack of effort on their part, uneventful and without result. How did Dell release these docking stations which are so insanely flawed? The other ports are, dare I say, working well. It's just frustrating that I need to bring my USB hub back into play. I can already feel more cables creeping back out onto my desk. Dell, if your listening, please fix this; and no I'm not changing my WiFi card or settings.

Hey, guy's I've been faced with a problem these past 3 day's I'm some what of a PC Gamer and for the past couple of day's I've noticed that my trackpad and keyboard weren't working simultaneously whenever I tapped w and tried to use my trackpad at the same time It wouldn't allow me I've recently updated my Laptop that's possibly causing the problem, I'm on a Windows 10 Dell Inspiron 15, also I'm using a Dell Touch-pad manufactured by Synaptics.

I am having issues with my Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I have been having multiple issues with this pc. It first started with the mouse flickering on the screen. After multiple drivers I was informed to install, I was told to use the windows tool to reinstall windows on the pc. I completed the install but now when the pc boots, it beeps continuously. If I press enter, windows boots like nothing is wrong. I have done a dell hardware diagnostic and everything passed. I am at a complete loss of answers.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My 5759 purchased in late April 2016 has to nagging issues.
1. Overall sensitivity is far too touchy. Sometimes it seems if I just hover over it, it will react. Additionally, if I'm viewing a video and pause it and place the notebook on the side to get out of my chair, the video restarts as if I touched the pad. Nothing in the (Windows 10) driver provides any way to adjust sensitivity.
2. Just recently, the left-click area has started to stick in the down position. I've never spilled anything on the keyboard or touchpad and don't know what is causing this or how to fix it. Hopefully it can be addressed before warranty runs out.
Ideas or suggestions are most welcome?
I bought a Dell Inspiron15 laptop from Amazon about 3 months ago. Lately, it has been freezing up, and tonight I restarted it, because it was freezing, and now it won't turn on. No light. No noise. Nothing. I tried some of the suggestions on this board (such as removing the battery and charge cord and holding power button), and still absolutely nothing. Everything I need to do for my new business I need to do on this computer. I need this issue resolved immediately or I will start to lose clients. Please let me know you can help!
Hello everyone, I have a Dell 5548 it has been acting weird after a windows update.
The laptop stays on as long as I stay in login screen, after entering the password, few minutes later the laptop turns off and restarts, I too the cover off and felt the heatsink and it's very got, the fan kicks in when laptop is powered on, and turns off 10 seconds later and turns on just seconds before the laptop shuts off.
Is there any way to update bios without being able to completely boot to test if this fixes my issues?.
Also I cannot boot to any safe mode, I get stuck at Dell logo screen.
