YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE DATA ON THIS COMPUTER WITHOUT THE CORRECT PASSWORD. PLEASE TYPE IN THE SYSTEM OR ADMINISTATOR PASSWORD AND PRESS ENTER. IS THIS LOCKED BIOS OR HARD DRIVE? PLEASE HELP THANK YOU.

I recently purchased a Inspiron 15R-5521 two days ago and i noticed a very tiny black spot on the screen.
I tried the troubleshoot by press and hold D and turn on the laptop but the black spot remains at its place.
Please advice!
Since there is no finger print reader hardware or software installed, how do I remove upeksvr.exe and prevent it from loading at startup?

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 15R with the I7 processor and couldn't be more displeased with my purchase. Not only did it take 2-3 weeks for my labtop to reach me, now they refuse to refund my purchase because its beyond the whole 21 days from the order date refund policy. This is absolutely unacceptable considering that it took nearly 3 weeks for my unit to reach me. The brand new computer runs slower than my four year old HP with AMD quad core. Have had multiple problems with the printer that was included in my purchase as well. Did I mention that this unit was $1200 and the HP was $700. I will not buy another dell computer in the future.
Recently tried to turn on my Inspiron 15R SE 7520 laptop and the Dell logo appears with the spinning dots but then it turns blue saying that it my pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. Then, the Dell logo appears again but immediately turns into another blue screen with "Recovery" at the top saying that my pc couldn't start properly along with the error code 0xc0000001. I've tried to Shift + f8 at power up and tried to crash at Dell logo 3 times to bring up the advanced menu but the the blue recovery screen still pops up. Any help please?
I have, have purchased new Dell Inspiron 15R -5521 ,3-4 months ago, When laptop battery discharged fully or only 10% remaining. I plugged it into charging about twenty minutes ago while battery was 10%, and after that, for about fifteen minutes, it kept showing message "battery is 10%" and then it charged slowly .I updated BIOS to A09,I did Dell PC Diagnostics,Everything looked good.I also checked by removing battery and it worked fine on adapter power. But same problem came when on battery.I am not sure its problem with battery or problem with adapter.
Help will be appreciated.

I'm having some problems with my wireless, and I have off and on since I got my XPS 15 nearly a year ago. It will sometimes (often) stutter for anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, during which time it will slow to a crawl (50 kb/s) or drop entirely. I've updated all my networks drivers from their manufacturers' websites because they advertise newer versions than on Dell's, and still no improvement. Anyone else have this problem? Is it something that can be fixed, or do I need to give up and buy a new laptop?
This laptop is nearly three years old and recently has developed two rather annoying issues.
First, the computer will not shut down. It is eternally 'logging off' and never seems to move past that stage in its shut down process. I have pressed 'shutdown' and returned several hours later to the same 'logging off' screen. If i need it to shut down, I am having to hold the power button - which I'm sure is not ideal.
Second, and increasing in frequency, the laptop will not load any internet browser. It seems to work aupon restart after a forced shut down, however if I hibernate over night and try to load a browser in the morning often it will not work and I have no option but to force shut down and resart.
Any help would much appreciated.

Yesterday, I tried installing Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 Pro on my Vostro 1720 Laptop, but I found out I need to be logged-in as administrator. Since I never used this "account" since I first installed programs on my machine, I forgot my administrator password.
Is there an "easy" way to recover the password or to change to a new one?

I've bought 2 Inspiron N7110 laptops. Both have win7 64bit OS, and 2 usb ports (3.0 ports) are not working. I have all the latest drivers form dell's web page, but I can't get them to work. Is this a driver issue or this laptop series is affected by Chipset circuit design issue? Should I return them, or there is something wrong with drivers, and it can be fixed?

As the title states, I can't get the boot options menu to open. Prescribed method id to hit F12 during POST. I've done so numerous times and get the blue progress bar below the Dell logo and the F12 boot options label appears in the lower right corner. The lazy circle below the Dell logo proceeds and the system boots normally. What to do?

problem : doesn't start, no booting, and bip code : 6 short in a row, refered in dell supp center as : "Video BIOS Test Failure"
they just suggest to get in contact with dell or the community, so here i am !
it stopped starting properly a random morning when everything was going fine the previous evening, no chocs, small heat up in the previous afternoon, but no warning messages nor crash due to it.
I tried to clean up my keyboard, but it did'nt work out ... one touch is not at the same level than the others (scrnsht) i tried to boot without this key, still the same ...

I have almost one year old DELL 15r 5520 laptop and have some problem with cooling. Since I bought laptop I had problem with fan so I use warranty and they change my fan. But problems are still here, when I play some 3D games temperatures are too high, 85 degrees and thats mean that laptop automatically lowering frequency and game start to lagg abnormally.
I tried to use compressor to clean a dust, but no results.
What is my next step? To use warranty again or try something another?
All drivers I downloaded via service tag, also I update a BIOS before few days, and nothing help.

My trusty D600 hangs during boot. I am able to boot into safe mode (w/o networking). Boot log shows AGP440.SYS to be the last driver to load. Next is ACPI which can not or will not load. Suggestions needed.

As the title says, I'm experiencing some problems while playing games on my laptop, and since I'm not very knowledgeable where computers are concerned, I was hoping to get some advice here.
Description of the problem: Mostly the game just freezes, and the only solution is resetting the computer. Occasionally the computer resets itself or shows a blue screen with the message that it is 'dumping memory', or something along those lines.
Frequency of the issue: seems quite random. At times the pc crashes 2 times/night, 3 days in a row, but there are also periods where I'll have no problem for a month straight. It does seem that if a crash happens, more are likely to follow.
The problem occurs with different games (WoW, Skyrim..), so I guess it's probably the graphics card? I've tried updating the drivers, but that didn't fix the issue.

I've checked a website to see what kind of ram is compatible, in this case it could be any of these , DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-14900, DDR3 (non-ECC) ( Source from http://www.crucial.com/uk/upgrade/Dell-memory/Inspiron+Laptops%2FNotebooks/Inspiron+15+%28N5050%29-upgrades.html) However i just want 2 gb so my memory goes to 6gb because i don't want any trouble with memory for the next year or so, but most people say to buy 2 sticks instead of just 1 because there might be a problem with the ram compatibility. I was thinking about buying a samsung 2gb ddr3 pc3 10600-1333 mhz ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-memory-10600-1333MHz-SODIMM-laptops/dp/B004F1KY3I/ref=sr_1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1378062796&sr=1-6&keywords=2+gb+ddr3+204) but i'm not sure if it is gonna be compatible with the default N5050 ram. I would like to know which is the best option, to buy the single 2gb ram or to buy a brand new pair of ram sticks, and if the 2gb would be compatible with the default n5050 ram.

The DVD-RW Drive consistently makes a clicking noise even though it is not operating with a disc. Then, when a blank disc is placed in the DVD-RW Drive, the blank disc swirls as if being read. This too happens periodically. When I eject the drive and keep it out there is no clicking noise.
Troubleshooting Performed:
Performed Dell hardware diagnostics. No problems shown. Ran M/S Fix It. I was told the Detect Controller was fixed. I am not sure what this means? Dell replaced the DVD Drive with a new one but this did not resolve the problem, the clicking continues. Anybody else with this DVD Drive noise problem? Any suggested solutions from this great community? Thank you.
