my dell laptop battery is loosely connected. need a solution

my laptop battery is loosely connected,it is getting turn off when i move the laptop from one place to other, there is no problem with power jack or ac adapter. After many examinations i found my battery is loose, it is getting disconnect internally when i move or lift the laptop.

I need to solution to fix this battery connection. How to make it normal? should i replace the battery?

 laptop and the fan isnt working at all. it just stopped working. i search to the internet on how to fix it and i saw upon start press F2 or F12 something and i did and its checking everything and the fan turn on after that right after the testing and everything it went back to the windows, i check and its still not working..my laptop keeps on heating up im worried the whole thing will stop working so i hope u guys can help me.

I have a Precision 7510 updated with the latest Bios and drivers. Today my TB15 arrived. I haven't tested connecting a monitor to it yet only a network cable and USB 3.0 stick - this worked fine.

I also tried starting the laptop from the button on the TB15 which also works fine.

However on startup I receive an error message:

"Alert! You have attached an undersized 130W power adapter to you system, which is less than the recommended 180W power adapter" ... message carries on a bit.

Now the thing is both the TB15 power adapter and 7510 power adapter are the same (identical part number) and  are shown to be 180W output.

What's the problem here and what do I need to do ?

Hello,

I am using dell Inspiron 15R laptop. Some time ago my charger was broken out and my battery was also showing needs replacement. So, recently i bought new Original Dell Battery and Charger both. But when I plugged in both, it is showing plugged in not charging. I took battery out and again inserted it but it is still not working. Now tell me what to do. How to fix this issue.

My laptop has windows 10. When i power on my laptop often these days I see this screen comes up. After few seconds It starts beeping sound. I power off the laptop, then power it on again until the laptop boots up normally. Usually in two to three chances it boots up normally. After it boots up it doesn't give any problem it functions normally, its only when I power it on 70% of the time it shows this screen.

It starts from the top and runs to the bottom those lines.
What might be the problem ?
I am using windows 10 on inspiron 15r SE 7250 I updated chipset and bios driver few week back and also changed the thermal paste on cpu and gpu

Now, I wonder if the notebook , would have warranty on DELL PERU.

I was told , it was necessary to add "premium support" for international warranty.

I want someone can help me regarding my question.

XPS 12 Will Not Start

XPS12, Model “P20S”, with i7 processor. 2.5 years old

All was working well and the computer went dark. The only sign of life is:

-        Press and release the power switch.  The keyboard backlight (and the internal fan) turns on for about 0.5 seconds, then off. The indicator light associated with the power switch stays on. Occasionally, the keyboard backlight (and fan) will again turn on about 5 seconds later (and turn off 0.5 seconds after that)

-        Press and hold the power switch for about 6 seconds (which should turn the computer off), and the indicator light does turn off. The above process can be repeated, same results.

Nothing on the display. No beeps (I looked at the list of the Beep Codes, but the system doesn’t make it that far)

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Bad AC Adapter???

I just got a new Dell 65W Slim Adapter for my Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Model # 7537 and I started to have trouble booting up my system.  I plugged in the new Dell 65W Slim Adapter and was playing on importing a CD to iTunes but when I plugged in the USB plugin for my external DVD drive the laptop suddenly shut off and I could not get it to boot up again.  I took out the battery and then reinstalled it and the laptop started to boot up again.  Next I tried to plug in the DVD drive again and the laptop died one more time and I repeated to remove the battery again and it started working again.  After this I started to have great difficulty getting it to boot up consistently and it seemed to only want to work with the bottom panel off that allows access to the battery so then I ran the boot up diagnostics and they all passed all the tests.  Finally I booted up the computer with the battery completely removed and now it has been working since then.  I'm wondering a few things like if this problem is most likely the USB DVD burner since it crashed when I plugged that in and if it would be safe to use my new power adapter which I haven't been using since it started to not boot up after plugging in the USB DVD drive.  The 65W power adapter is labeled Dell and is the correct wattage and brand so I would like to keep this if it likely didn't cause the issue.  Also I guess the battery could be bad as well, so I would like to know if it is safe or not to keep the adapter.  Sorry for the long question but it was an "Interesting Problem".

Hello, 

             I presently have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 840 @1.87GHz 1.87 GHz. I also have 12 GB ram. As I recall all the slots are filled, making up the 12 GB ram. Can I exchange that in this model to use the slots for a higher amount, & if so how much will that improve the overall computer's performance. I'm assuming this is something if possible that wouldn't be extremely difficult to do myself. Finally what is the recommended ram?

Image recovery - what to do when your hard drive dies?

I own an Inspiron 7520. Got it in 2012 and it was a very good machine. Then the hard drive completely died this month. I had previously created a image recovery on a USB flash disk which now I know it is completely useless. Can't do anything with it on a new hard drive.

And then, I tried to download my original drivers and original OS iso from Dell's page. I simply CAN'T download the OS iso to reinstall my system (I always get the infamous message: Recovery image not available for your Service Tag. Sorry, but a Dell Hosted Recovery Image is currently not available for the Service Tag that you entered. Please enter another Service Tag or contact Dell Technical Support for further assistance). How am I supposed to do????

Please answer in dummy language, I'm no tech geek here. Thank you very much!

New Dell XPS 13 - top cover crumpled near hinges area

Hi Dell Support Team,

I have noticed that top cover of my newly bought XPS 13 has crumpled near the hinges area. Please refer to the pictures attached to see the xact issue.

Now, I have called the support line, but was told that this kind of damage is not included in the basic warranty and could be repaired with a fee only. How come? This is clearly a defect of this laptop and should be either repaired or replaced. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I am sure, that over the course of time, this will crack open completely.

DELL VOSTRO 3700 clean install WIN 7 need drivers

Hi,

looking for a bit of help. I just clean installed WIN 7 PRO on an old Vostro 3700. Now I'm looking to load drivers. Don't have network connection no driver. I can get driver off DELL easy enough but how do I find which ones to use and in what order to load??
Does DELl have a standalone tool to scan my machine and tell me which drivers I need?

My odissey with XPS 15 9550

Hello,
I bought the XPS 15 in April and from the start it has  been an odyssey. The problem is the screen, I have a band of 5 mm on the right side that is with some brighter colors of the rest of the panel. I noticed it watching the football matches at full screen, with green field is very noticeable. After this discovery I noticed that you could see it with some wallpaperthat before i hadn't noticed. I called the Customer service, they have replaced the panel and nothing has changed, then they have replaced the motherboard and nothing changed too. I noticed that it is more evident with middle tone colors, not bright, not too dark. I started  my test with the green of the field that i discovered that it happens with purple, red and of course with gray.  Then they replaced my pc and nothing, I see still the *** light stripe on the right side. At this point I don't know what to think, maybe it is a normal phenomenon for this type of panel . Please tell me, do you have it too? I want to understand if I have to keep this second PC or return
I enclose a photo taken with a cell phone of the problem, even if it is more evident with movies.

W10 upgrade impossible on R15 7520

Hi

I have bought a R15 trough Dell's shop 2/3 years ago. I've been very happy with it untill its RAM went down. It is time to refresh my laptop. So I've changed the DDR for a good one and I bought a SSD to replace the actual hard drive. As Windows gives windows 10 upgrade I went for that but it didn't work.
As I want a clean install I was not frustrated, I just should reinstall Win7 on the SSD, then upgrade to Win10. As I've lost my install disk I went for solutions gived by Microsoft.

Microsoft ask for the product key in order to allow Win7 download, but doesn't recognize mine as valid.
Plus I've looked in my Dell's account and I can't find my laptop in my product list.

It's like my computer doesn't exist for Dell or Microsot even if first thing I did when I received it was to register.


How can it be ?
What solution can be found ?

Hi,

I have an XT2 laptop that isn't working and I was wondering if anyone might know what might be wrong with it. The power adapter has the indicator light on, so the adapter must be fine. The battery light on the laptop works too. But, when I try to start the computer it doesn't start.

I removed the battery and held the power button to discharge any static charge, then put the battery back and tried to start the computer. The light around the power button comes on, but then goes off again after only a second or two. When I close the screen the power light, the one beside the battery light on the lid of the case goes on and when I open the lid again the power light goes off again. The light on the caps lock button is on and the lights above the F4 and F5 buttons are also on, the light above the F4 button was blinking but is now steady.

Could parts of the hardware need re-seating? I've heard that can work.

Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Hi All

I have drooped my laptop and win10 crushed. 

Now every time when I turn it on  `No bootable device found`  appears.

BIOS diagnostic shows that drive is not detected. 

When I run win10 recovery options through pendrive it shows `drive is locked/blocked please unblocked it`

my laptop battery is loosely connected , it's getting turn off when i try to lift or move the laptop . i'm sure it is battery connection problem because i examined it by removing the battery and connecting the ac adapter, the problem didnt persist when i removed the battery. There's no problem with battery life or charging port. Only battery connection i guess, How can i solve this problem. Please help.
