I have an e7450 that has had what I believe to be a system board failure. It is out of warranty so I am looking at replacing the system board myself. The part number is CN-0Y15C1-12963-54I- A0EF REV A00.
I believe the original unit has an i5-5300U. Most of the replacement boards I'm finding online have an i7-5600U.
Will there be an issue using the different processor if the board is still the same?
Is it possible to place a M2 SSD in the WWAN slot of a E5570? On the internet I only find posts that people expect that it should work based on experience with other Dell models. But that feeling is not enough to convince me for buying this laptop.
If it is possible will a samsung evo 850 m2 2242 work? This SSD uses the mSATA connection and not the PCI-E.

I am using dell inspiron n4030 laptop with intel i3 processor , 500 gb hard disk and 4gb ram (2*2)
Presently I am planning to upgrade RAM of my laptop, I came across many post that maximum expandable capacity for n4030 is 6gb, whereas in some post it was mentioned one slot has a capacity of 4gb so you can expand it to a max 8gb. This made me really confusing.
Can anyone help me with this please??

I have a customer that has a Dell XPS 14z, randomly the left mouse click stops working on the touch pad. Right mouse click and the actual touch pad itself works fine. If you plug in a USB mouse the left click works fine on the USB mouse, however the left click on the touch pad continues to not work.
Below are the following actions I have taken however they hasn't resolved the issue.
What is strange is that once you restart the laptop left click starts working again, however it will stop randomly and by randomly, I mean that it could stop working 3 weeks from now or 2 days from now.
I don't think it is hardware because if it was I would have thought that the button wouldn't start working after every restart.
So any thoughts or solutions would be grateful.

I have a problem regarding my laptop. I'm done a bios update from 1.2.12 to 1.2.14 inside windows 10 using the exe file from Dell. It's been 1 hour that the laptop in the state of blank screen. The fan is running and AC is plugged.
What is the course of action for me now?

I've recently purchased the Dell XPS 15 9550 (Core i7-6700 2.60GHZ, 16GB RAM, GTX 960m 2GB RAM, 512GB SSD). I've noticed that after gaming for a while, I get drops in frame rate. I'm guessing its throttling of some kind. Some times it lasts for a few minutes, sometimes it persists. So I downloaded Intel XTU to monitor my XPS while gamine and I see my Core Frequency dropping down to 0.80 GHz and Power Limit Throttling at 100% at the time frame that matches when I experience my frame rate drops. Is this normal? I was playing Star Wars Battlefront at 1080p on medium settings and 75% Resolution.

I am running Windows 10 on my Inspiron 5447 and my battery time remaining is way off. While the percentage is correct the time remaining when fully charge is somewhere between 300 to 400 hours. If it really lasted this long I would not mind at all.
Does anyone know how to tell Windows 10 to recalibrate the time remaining?
I'm not interested in doing a Windows reinstall. There has to be some registry bit to change.

I was trying to replace the harddrive on my Dell inspiron m5030 and the hard drive is not my issue. The issue (according to the beep chart given on another post) was that it beeps 7 times indicating a processor failure. I followed the first step of reseating the processor, NOTHING. I was wondering if there was another way I could fix this without spending too much money and losing all of my data. Yes this is an old computer but it worked up until the other day and I had a friend trouble shoot it. She suggested that I change the hard drive so I did. Then came the beeps and a black screen so please assist me..

After lots of research and even more confusion, I have purchased an Inspiron 13 7000. From what I gather, some models support an active pen, but others do not. So, I purchased the older model (7352), which by many accounts (including the infamous MobileTechreview article here: www.mobiletechreview.com/.../Dell-Inspiron-13-7000.htm) does support the active stylus - specifically the Dell 750-AAGN.
So, now I have the Inspiron 13 7352 and the Dell active stylus (750-AAGN); but, I have no idea how to connect the two. I also have not been able to find any documentation on this. Can anyone help me with a step-by-step guide to setting this up? Are there drivers, etc.?

My screen resolution on my Dell Insipiron 17 5000 series looks terrible. I thought it was because my images were bad and would spend hours editing them. Recently I saw my images on another monitor and the look fine. I tried calibrating several times and nothing works. My images look horrible on my laptop but look good on other monitors or smartphones. I bought this laptop to do all my photo editing and can not do it. Please help.

I have a dell Inspiron 15-3537 which came preinstalled with windows 8 but I upgraded to windows 10 and I just tried to reset my laptop which included wiping all the files. At some point during the reset the laptop displayed a message saying, "windows could not complete rest due to an error". So I selected an option that said something like "restart device" and then it got trapped in the loop. please someone help me :(
A few weeks ago I got an XPS 13 laptops. And it's a great machine.
Except for an issue.
I have a PNY 128GB SSD connected to a Startech USB 3.1 interface with a type C USB connector.
When I plug it in, the system keeps recognizing it and then unrecognized it, ad infinitude. Windows chimes each time. The drive is unusable. Note that going via USB 3, it works fine.
I have installed all of the drivers an BIOS (1.4.3) updates and the latest Windows 10 updates. Note that I installed Dell's Serial IO driver, but every time I return to see if there are more drivers to update, the Serial IO driver needs updating again. It never seems to take.
Note that before the windows 10 updates, it was more stable.
Also if I boot to safe more is seems much better.
I have very little installed on the system. Only Microsoft stuff (office 365, OneDrive). It is a fresh install.

I am too facing the same issue of the hinge on my inspiron 5547 when i checked with the dell team they say its not covered under my warranty.
When i further analysed the issue the problem is as follows
1. The hinges are strong made of steel but the base which fixes them to the front panel are plastics.
2.The nuts are moulded into plastic and fixed with screws which makes them break after our normal day to day usage.
3.I assume this has been overseen in the design review .
Can any one please advise how you got this fixed ?
Since I have upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 my WiFi connection keeps dropping off. I run trouble shooting and it repairs the WiFi adapter. I have tried to run Dell Detect but each time it begins checking for SupportAssist I get this message "There was a problem with your internet connection. Please try running the diagnostic again."
No matter how many times I try I get the same result. I had none of these problems with 8.1.
Any suggestions? I have a Dell Inspiron 5721 laptop

My dell N4030 turns off automatically once it gets overheated. When it's not overheated then its working fine. I'd like to know whether its an hardware issue or I can solve the problem by doing diagnostic. I'm using Windows 10 OS. Pls help me in this issue
