DELL VODTRO TOUCHPAD DRIVER ISSUE SOLVED

HI, 

I recently upgraded my dell vostro 3558 to windows 10 but after installing it touchpad gestures was not working properly. i re installed the drivers many times but was not able to find out the solution of it also searched on the web but got no solution.then i found fastboot is one of the reason also disable it but gestures workerd for first time only.then finally updated the BIOSand installed the driver again and finally the problem was solved

Battery not charging after power adapter replacement

Just replaced the battery in my XPS 1340 and found out I have charging issues. When I plug in a charger, Windows sees it but won't charge the old total depleted battery, instead, runs off ac power. Tried a different charger and a new battery with 30% charge but same results. As a last chance effort, I replaced the male prong power adapter in the computer. Now Windows doesn't see the charger and will not run on ac. 

Is there something in the Bios that needs to be done to fix this or am I to assume it's a motherboard issue and retire this little workhorse.

i have installed window 10 pro 64 bit and downloaded drivers but when i open maxx audio controller it is blank and doesn't appear and the quality now is so bad for my audio what shall i do to make it works ?????it is very important to me as it was working before on windows 8.1

Whenever I start up my Dell XPS 15 I get the error "Internal hard disk drive not found..."


I checked the BIOS and it shows the hard drive is there and also ran the Dell Startup thing that checks the different components and got no errors.

What do I do next?

My Insipron 5558 seems to have problems loading an Intel Driver.  I just gives an error while trying to load the Intl Man. Engine driver (chipset driver OF63x_Win32.  Any aid would be appreciated.

Need help with a DVD drive unit for laptop

I have a Dell Inspiron 17, 3737.  I need to replace the DVD drive.  I have the new one and see that I need to take the plastic facing from the old one and put it on the new one.  It appears that it just snaps on the new one, but I can't figure out how to remove it from the old one.  I hope I don't need special tools, but if I do, where would I buy them?  Can someone please help me?  Thanks.

I bought a dell laptop in  November which had several issues including issues with the touch-pad and keyboard. After spending about 2-3 hours a week with dell on the phone for about 3 months, including having a technician come and replace the necessary parts, and then further consultation where dell technicians attempted to solve my issues through their online support system, Dell finally send in a replacement. I was happy, assuming that I didn;t need to spend anymore time with dell custimer care in order to solve my problem. 

Little did I know that this was just the beginning of all my problems

The replacement laptop that dell sent in had even more issues, and DANGEROUS issues than the first. 

1) the laptop gives me electric shocks randomly while using it

2) it over heats making it impossible to keep on my lap, as the bottom feels hotter than a candle

3) The battery doesn't last more than an two hours

4) the display driver crashes when I watch youtube videos. use excel or a programming IDE

5) randomly the terminal pops open and code runs down my screen giving quite a terrifying experience

 These issues started popping up randomly and increasing with frequency as time went on, Naturally I called Dell customer care and tech support on multiple occasions, however these calls never last less than an hour, and on MANY occasions after the technician gets frustrated, they either put my call on hold long enough until I hang up or until they give up and cut the call.

After many such occasions, I gave in and bought a secondary laptop to help with my work as dell was becoming impossible to use. I was busy in the middle of term studying engineering and working as well ( my laptop being my main source of income) and decided it wasn't worth it to spend my time on dell when I was so busy, and that I would get back to it later when I had the time.

My second laptop was a third hand macbook I bought for cheap but that also stopped working after two month when someone spilt powerade all over it. Then I went back to using my dell and began experiencing all those problems again.

I waited until my exams were finished and began dealing with dell again. I finally managed to carve out enough time in my schedule for the 2 hours it normally took to get anything done. As Dell had sent me a FAULTY replacement, I assumed that they would either give me a refund or change the laptop again. 

THEY REFUSED to change the laptop even though it was FAULTY and practically UNUSABLE. Instead they want me to send in this death machine so they can work on it for over a week so they could send it back, leaving me without my main source of income for a week. The technicians were all rude and refused to do what they did before and exchange the BROKEN LAPTOP they gave me, despite me having paid for all the premium services and warranties, and despite this being COMPLETELY DELL'S  fault.

I honestly just wish that I had a working laptop. Never buying dell again and will strongly encourage everyone I know to never by anything from Dell. Horrible service and products that never seem to work.

 

need help with e6420 xfr broadband what a mess....

I have a e6420 xfr that has built in broadband dw5800 g4 and when I got it had a verision sim but I have a data plan with att so I got me a sim from att installed it and att activated it,

When I opened the mobile broadband list and go to the properties of att the APN is still showing up as version, and when I change it to att it will work until reboot it takes about 10 mins to shut down hitting a blue screen that flashes by too fast to read but says something about a driver power problem.

when I get back started the ARN is back to version ,

I am guessing I have a mess with a couple things,

how do I make it stay on att APN and what is the correct drivers I should have for this, what I have isn't happy,

Replacement of battery under warranty

Hi,

my battery recently reported permanent failure, it was under warranty so I contacted Dell support to request a replacement. I've provided all the necessary information and had also ran some diagnostics, the person I was in contact with was happy with all the information provided and informed me that they'll send me a replacement.

Few days later he messaged me the below. I'm not quite sure why they need my whole laptop for this, I'm not really happy to have it collected and kept by them for what I can imagine will be several days if not  weeks. Is this a normal course of action for faulty battery?

"I forgot to tell you that the warranty on the system is Collect and Return, which means we have to collect that system and have that fully diagnosed and checked through our repair team. "

I returned my dock because of many of the issues described here including display drops and wireless USB devices dropping. I received an updated dock a week ago and while it still runs hot, it resolved all the display issues.

The manufacturing date of the first dock was March 1st 2016. The new dock was April 26th. To confirm the date, check the fourth term in the PPID. First digit is year, 2nd is month, 3rd is date (1-9, A-V); for example April 26th is "64Q".

Dell support rep confirmed that this was "a new version" and likely the USB issues would be resolved by driver updates to come...

INSPIRON 3521 DRIVERS

I have an Inspiron 3521 with a missing HD.  I also have a 350 gig  SATA HD with Windows 7 already installed.  Is there a driver pack I can download in order so I can use this HD?  Been many years since I've done this and I'm very behind the times!

XPS L501x randomly freezes, fan goes full blast with no BSOD, event log or dump.

This problem occurs at different times. And again it never produces a BSOD, event log or dump and the fan ALWAYS goes full blast. Sometimes it happens while in the middle of something, sometimes when the computer is idle. Have to hard reboot it then but usually it will then occur on reboot, freezing anywhere from the Windows logo to sometimes shortly after desktop icons appear. Could take me 5 or 6 tries before it finally makes it into Windows and sometimes I can run it for a few hours before it locks up again, sometimes not. Thought it was a heat issue but running monitoring software showed the CPU heat levels consistently remained in safe range 40-60c, even moments before freeze up. Still blew out of the fan area just in case. But many times it happens when the computer has been off for a while, even overnight. I turn it on and it will freeze on startup so clearly it can't be overheating. Actually once that happens it takes many attempts before it finally successfully boots up again.

When it has cooperated I have managed to run Burn In Test, Memtest86 (4 passes) and even S&M Stress which I ran like 6 times 2 of which it did freeze but I think it was just a random freeze rather than being specifically triggered by S&M's tests. Also it passes the Dell preboot assessment.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 but same problem. Resorted to trying clean install of Windows 10 but problem remains. Amazingly enough I was able to get thru both reinstalls with no freezup issues which I found odd. I think I have exhausted all other causes so my thoughts are its either a bad processor or a motherboard issue but before I invest in a new board or processor I wanted some opinions.

E7270 w/DW5811e Mobile Broadband

I can't get the mobile broadband to detect on the 7270 with Windows 10. I've downloaded the driver from the Dell website which completes successfully but the adapter remains as a "Generic Mobile Broadband Adapter". Does anyone have experience with this issue and know if I need to install another driver as a pre-requisite? 

I've also tried previous versions of the driver to no avail. 

Latitude E6430s - installing a Mcard SSD 128GB

I was wandering how can I install a 128GB,SSD-S3,Mcard,3.8MM, LITEON, L9Mon my Latitude E6430s.
My 500GB Toshiba HDD "died" and Dell support gave me the option to replace it with a Mcard 128 GB SSD, but I'm struggling to get it to work.

Can anyone help?

New 13 XPS external drive connection question

On my new 13 XPS with Windows 10/64 Home when I plug in either a USB Flash Drive or an SD Card I get the following;

1. The drive shows normally accessing it through the start menu into Control Panel via This PC.

2, I have not one but 3 icons for the drive or card showing in File Manager.

Can someone please tell me if this is normal for the XPS as in Windows 10/64 same version same build on our desktop PC by another manufacturer the File Library shows one icon for an installed flash drive or SD Card.

If the multiple icons are simply clones and all is ok, is there one I have to choose to use on backup via File History or can I choose any one of the icons as all 3 show a complete tree of the folders I put there.
