I know it an old question but I am having problems getting a 1470 wifi card to work on my Inspiration B130. I have tried several drivers Dell, Intel, Microsoft but none seem to work. The 1470 shows up in the device manager and it says that it is working with no problems. When I try to set up a wireless network it fails and fails the hardware test. Is there a better wifi card to use. Does anyone have a solution?

Hello. I am owner of the Alienware 17 (2014) and my laptop is still on the warranty. This morning I wanted to add more storage space (HDD) inside my alienware laptop, but I realised that it is not possible, because there was missing 90 degree connection for a HDD. I tried to look for answer in the forums and I found that Dell.forum solved that issue by sending this detail to customer without any additional fees. I would like also to get this part - 90 degrees connection for HDD. My XPS has the Geforce 960m 2GB. It's not great for 4k gaming. But it is awesome. My question is, how does an external video card work? Does it enhance my current GPU? Or does it act separately all together?
I have a Dell XPS 15 (9550) / Windows 10 and sometime within the past month, my system began no longer being able to take an active window screenshot using the Alt-PrtScr key combination which I previously used very regularly. I seem to only now be able to take a full system screenshot using Win-PrtScr. Alt-PrtScr, which is far more useful for specific window screen captures, no longer functions as it previously did.
I have checked all current Dell driver updates, etc. Had even performed several driver and Bios updates on Feb 15. Not sure if the problem was immediately following this or came on later. I am only sure that it has been an issue since Mar 19. Any thoughts? Thanks.

If I go to a product's page with it's express code thingy, and install drivers, will it install the drivers on the device that's viewing the page or will it install them on that product with the express code thing?

I have Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop with Windows 10 x64 (Home) for already 2 months.
Until now I have 2 issues problems which maybe related to drivers.

Regarding the first issue, I found (with the Inter Driver update tool) that there are some updated drivers but when I'm trying to install them, I got an error that it not supported by the computer manufacturer.

I've got ADATA Dual USB thumb-drive, i.e. it has USB-A 3.0 and USB-C 3.1 ends. I can plug any end and access data on MS Windows.
I have BIOS 1.1.19 installed. I can boot using USB 3.0 end (mode), but I can not boot from USB-C (USB 3.1). Do I need to enable some option in BIOS or is it simply not possible?
I have booted into it while in Legacy mode
But is there a way to boot into it in UEFI mode?

i bought a dell inspiron 15 7559 back in january. recently, i have discovered that the airplane mode icon always remains on, even when the wifi is working and switched on. when i click on the airplane mode icon, the computer goes into airplane mode and then i again need to click on it and only then is the problem resolved.
I have updated windows as well as the bios but the problem still persists.

I recently bought a Latitude E5450, and there's one thing I'm missing: On my Asus I installed a driver that showed me icons in the middle of my screen, popping up when I used on of the Fn-keys. For example, if I hit Fn + the key for lowering the volume, I had an icon showing me I was going down with volume.
Is there a driver that does that for my Dell notebook?
First post, please be gentle. I have a Inspiron 3147. I updated the BIOS a couple weeks ago after the Dell Assistant kept recommending I install it. Ever since then, the laptop will not go into sleep or hibernate mode. Every time I close the lid, when I open the lid, I have to press the power button and then it reboots.
I have tried to refresh the BIOS version A09. The Dell website gives a date of Feb 2, 2016 but when I check the msinfo32 page, I see version A09, dated 11/13/2015. Is that problem?
Is this BIOS update a known problem for Dell Inspiron 3147's? What do you all recommend? Oh by the way, it just went out of warranty a month before I loaded the BIOS update. Other than the Sleep Hibernate issue, it works perfectly.
Hey...... I bought a DELL Inspiron 5558 recently and I upgraded it to windows 10 form windows 8.1.
So there is this game that I play - Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and at times while playing ( random I guess ) ..my screen becomes unresponsive and a blue screen appears mostly stating the error Video_Tdr_Failure and yeah I've got many other blue screen errors but this was the common one. Please help me..this error has been occuring to me quite frequently and I hope someone gives a proper solution.
So what happened is my laptop got dropped and I turned it on and it said no bootsble devices and gave me options like f1 to retry or hit f5 for diagnostics and f2 for system info or something so I ran the diagnostics and it came up with an error , so I called the dell company and stayed on the phone with someone and they said it was the hard drive so they sent me a new one and I self installed it and when I put the new one in it does the same no bootable device thing and I run diagnostics it says hard drive not installed ! I have been fighting with this for days and this computer is how I work on school work so I am so behind in my online classes any help will do , :( please and thank you!!
This laptop had click sound going on when closing and opening lid. It had this from day one and i assumed it is new laptop and will get fine after few uses. As i used this laptop rarely i did not mind this issue until recently i opened the lid and heard click and found right side corner hinge pop out. Now my laptop is unusable and needs the replacement. I used this laptop with care and am sure this was manufacturing defect. This needs to be replaced for free.
I tried to reach DELL support few times but was put on wait for hours and had to give UP. Now when i call them they say your warranty is expired and you have to pay for this replacement.
I don't buy this . THIS IS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. 100's of users experienced the same. DELL has to OWN responsibility and fix it . This makes CUSTOMERS DAY.
This breaks customer trust on DELL. I see this is getting more and more into Fabric of DELL. So many customers are complaining about DELL

I have a new Inspiron 5758 laptop. When I press the power button on it, the power button does not light, even though there is a small translucent stripe on it designed to show the light from an LED behind it.
At work we have some new Latitude 15 laptops, and their power buttons light up when pressed.
A person at Dell tech support told me the Inspiron power buttons do not light up when pressed; the only LED on the system is one at the front on the lower half of the case that serves as a combination charging and disk activity indicator.
Did the tech support person give me accurate information?
There's an issue with a Latitude e5550 that I purchased some months ago. Since I prefer complete silence I swapped out the included harddrive with a Samsung SSD. However I soon started to notice a high-pitched electrical noise coming from the CPU area.
It appears that the noise is present when the CPU is idle. Not when the laptop is in sleep, but when the processor is not loaded. I have confirmed the noise is not coming from the fan because it occurs even when the fan is off and it is coming from around the CPU area. The whine varies in volume, sometimes it is unnoticable while other times you can clearly hear it from meters away.
The BIOS is up to date. Has there been some other update that fixes this issue or should I get a replacement unit?
