Blue Screen - system_thread_exception_not_handled (netwtw02.sys)
I have an Inspiron 7348 2-in-1 for a little over half a year now and I have not been too pleased with it from the start. It is rather slow. When I close it without shutting it down and open it later half of the screen is black. When I open a new folder or switch between two folder some icons change place and color...
The last month it has been going downhill fast. Whenever I open something, (email, browser, webpage), basically everything that requires the screen to change, it freezes for a 10-20 seconds. I expect this from a laptop which is 3 years old....not a fairly new one.
My main concern is these blue screens I get every week now. It has two different messages:
- SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (netwtw02.sys)
- DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (netwtw02.sys)
What is going on!?

Recently purchased a refurbished Latitude E6510; decided to run Dell System Detect, dellsystem detectlauncher downloaded and installed OK, it checked for Support Assist and gathered tests OK and began running tests, now Instead of preparing test results it says, "There was an issue running diagnostics." What should I do?

E4310, E-Port Plus and USB3
Just picked up an e-port docking station which has 2 x USB 3 ports on it. I've docked my E4310 to it and all seems OK but I dont seem to have USB 3 functionality through the USB3 ports on the back. I've plugged in a Seagate USB 3 drive, done a speed test on it and am getting the same read/write speeds as I get with the same drive on USB2 and an older USB 2 drive (circa 19/24 MB/s).
I've looked in Device Manager and can see no USB3 reference in the USB controllers section.
Is there some sort of driver upgrade I need to do, or something else I need to do to get USB3 functionality?
Cheers for any thoughts, pointers or specific directions.

SMART Short Self Test Failed - (Error code: WHD16-8NR)

I have had my XPS L520X for 4 years 2 months. I've never had an issue with its operation till last week. It randomly restarted and came up with the Realtek PCI Issue when it rebooted.
To cut a very long story short to fault find what was happening, I re-installed the whole operating system including a formatting of the hard drive.
The problem of the laptop freezing/crashing and rebooting with various erros while doing usual tasks has not been solved.
I ran the Dell support centre software and it shows the SMART self test has failed with the following code (Error code: WHD16-8NR).

I also went into the BIOS BOOT MENU by pressing F12 on start-up and ran the diagnostics which seemed to have said everything passed however I did see a faliure error during its process which was too quick for me to write down the error.
In a nut shell, my thought is that my hard drive is failing/ or is about to fail or is corrupt.
My simple question is, do I need a new hard drive with the information I have provided?

Surface Pro 4 compatibility with Dell Monitor U2412Mb
I just purchased a Dell Monitor U2412Mb and have been trying to get it to work properly with my Surface Pro 4 and have not been able to get the audio or the screen size to fit the entire screen. I have tried updating the lastest drivers and Window 10 says that I have the most recent drivers. However, on Microsoft's website, it states that the Surface there are compatibility issues with this monitor and the Surface Pro 4. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Is Dell working with Microsoft to resolve this problem?

XPS 9550 TB15 dock combo, closed lid issue?
Hello,
Everyone appears to have issues with the dock such as a port not working or stuttering or resetting. But I am not having ANY of these issues. The only issue I am having is I cannot close the lid with an external monitor. I have already changed the settings on the XPS 9550 to "Do Nothing" when the lid is closed both on battery power and without. I also plugged it into the power adapter just in case.
What happens when I do close the lid is the external monitor goes to sleep and ALL peripherals connected no longer work (including display) after opening the XPS again. I have to restart the computer for the dock to work again.
No overheating issues, no fan issues, no stuttering, other than this small problem.
Anybody have any solutions?

HORRIBLE alienware technician ! Can I replace a new laptop ?!
My alienware 17r3 got some problems these days, and after discussing with dell tech, we found the issue is on battery or the motherboard. This is just the beginning of my horrible experience. Last day, a dell technician came to my home to replace the batter of my laptop. After replacing the battery, the laptop still cannot work normal, so we knew the issue is on the motherboard. After the technician gone, I found there were two plastic buckles damaged! ( which connects the frame of the laptop) . And there were also two screws
installed in the wrong place ！ It makes me really disappointed. I really doubt whether dell technicians got trained before or not.
I just bought this laptop about 4 months, then the motherboard works abnormal and I can tolerate this. But dell technician let me laptop became worse, and I really cannot accept it.
I just want to ask if I can replace a new laptop. Because I dont want dell technicians touch my laptop anymore. Some of them even worse than me.

Latitude E5470 - Win 7 Installation - No Drivers
Hi ,
I am having problems installing our corporate version of Windows 7 Enterprise.
I have four new E5470 Laptops, all without an internal CD/DVD drive installed.
When loading Windows 7 Enterprise from either an external USB connected CD/DVD Rom drive, or from a USB 3 stick, the installation commences as far as letting you change the language set from US to UK English but then bombs out after this.
It comes back with the error "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains drivers and then click ok".
I have downloaded and installed all the drivers from the Dell web site for this model laptop onto the installation USB 3 stick but it still does not see and let you select them. Or if you plug in another separate USB stick or if you burn the drivers to CD and change the disk in the external drive unit.
It seems to be because these 'drivers' or whatever files are required, need to be slip streamed into the installation routine.
I have four of these laptops in total, all brand new, and the fault happens on each.

Namskar, i have a laptop of dell i.e.inspiron M5030. And when i start my laptop with pressing the start up button, after a few seconds it starts beeping 3 times and then after 3 times beeping with interval of 5 seconds it again start for beep. What should i do? This problem occurs from very long time from atleast 6-7 months. With this fear, i never try to use it again. Please give me some solution.

Can't boot, C drive messed up during partition merging [Inspiron 15 5000]
Hi
I was merging C drive with that little bit of space (about 700mb) before C drive using EaseUS partition software, it has once shown a warning that merging OS drive may cause system not to boot. I went ahead anyway now I can't boot, the thing is during the rebooting for the partitioning, I have the win10 recovery USB plugged in, the interface went to the recovery menu, then I can't boot to windows since, don't know if this might have caused the partition not to complete.
I have tried reset windows, using fix startup tool and fixboot, fixmbr command from the recovery USB to no avail, it shows "the drive is locked" or with secure boot turned off "no bootable device is found" .
Here is a snap shot of all the partitions under DISK 0, partition 1 is the little space I was trying to merge to partition 2 (C drive), I don't know what DISK 1 is, could it be the product of the partition failure?
Any help is much appreciated! BTW, is this something I can sent to Dell customer service, I just bought this computer. If the fix is simple enough I prefer to do it myself.

Dell Latitude E7270 - Mcafee Drive Encryption Fatal Error: [0xEE020006] Getting disk info
Hi,
I have been sent the E7270 and E7470 as test units for our company and I have run into issues once Mcafee has encrypted the drives. Before Windows boots the above message appears.
I had the same issue with the E7250 and E7450 and a bios update was the eventual fix. I was on bios version 1.3.0 when the issue occurred. Tried flashing to the latest 1.4.2 and rebooting with no joy.
Currently re-installing the whole image again to see if 1.4.2 works but was wondering if anyone else has the same issue or if Dell are aware of the problem.

Network Protocols Are Missing
Greetings, all! Just bought a new XPS13 9350 laptop this week. First thing I updated Windows 10 and all drivers (Wish there was a utility like the Intel one to tell you which Dell drivers NEED to be updated...). All seemed to be fine and have solid connection on home network. Then last night went to a Panera and had a nightmare trying to connect there. Had their Wifi tech support onlne almost an hour and never succeeded. It connected to their network but never got internet connection. Used the Windows troubleshooting for internet connections and got a message, "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer" and it could not fix the issue. Haven't found anything online of help. Need to get this resolved or might as well return the unit. Whole purpose is to be able to have a Windows unit that is powerful and portabl - right now this one is useless if I can't connect on public wifi systems. BTW, when I got back home, no problem connecting again to my home system.
Any ideas? I'm normally pretty good at troubleshooting issues like this, but I don't know where to start on this one, since everything "appears" to be working properly.

Install and boot to SSD on Inspiron 7000 17 7737
Hi,
I have a new SSD that I have installed in Dell Inspiron 17 7000 (7737)
Its a crucial BX200 240GB.
Disk works fine as a secondary disk. However I'd like to move OS to SSD and use the HDD as data disk.
I cloned HDD to SSD (keeping the 5 partitions identical) Using EASEUS to do
disbaled UEFI, and enable legacy bios to allow to boot to SSD.
However, when it boots to SSD I get "Operation System not found"
I gues that should say "Operating system" but thats how it is displayed on my screen, "Operation System"?!? weird.
I'm running Windows 8.1 (build 9600), 64-bit
Is there a recommened method to boot to new SSD?
I dont have the windows media, do Dell supply this?
I'd rather not do clean install if possible, as the system setup is fine and I'd like to keep it as it is.
