Hello
Got brand new "Dell Inspiron 5721" (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) and I have a huge problem with wifi card.
I have 802.11b/g network in my home, and max speed that I've seen is around 1,5-2 Mbps.
Other devices don't have problem with transfers around 3MB/s (so this should be around 24Mbps).
wget -O /dev/null http://mirror.ox.ac.uk/sites/releases.ubuntu.com/releases//raring/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso gives me transfers around 30kb/s
lftp -e 'pget http://mirror.ox.ac.uk/sites/releases.ubuntu.com/releases//raring/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso; exit;' gives me around 140-170kb/s
Where second one command on other hardware gives me my max transfer from outside - 3.2M/s
So.. those speeds are a far below acceptance criteria of modern user.
I've read a lot of web pages with hints, and I've tried most of them:
1. Turn off power management.
It's always turned off:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:"Sylwusia_nomap"

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:"test_nomap"

2.Turn off support for 802.11n networks.
Same as above - it's turned off.
3.Change iwlwifi options:
I've tried:
options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1
options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0
options iwlwifi swcrypto=1
options iwlwifi wd_disable=1
And even:
options iwlwifi auto_agg=0
options iwlwifi bt_ch_inhibition=0
4. Turn off ipv6 : /etc/sysctl.conf
#disable ipv6 to fix speed problems in ubuntu
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6 = 1
Still, same results.
5. I've boot live cd (linux mint 15) - same results, speeds around 1-2Mbps
So, any other hints? (System is updated (apt-get update & upgrade executed just before last tests))
And some outputs for help:
