Hi i have a dell laptop latitude d620 and i was deleting some items in add and remove and somehow i think i have deleted the sound as i dont have any even the sound symbol as disapeared at the bottom right side of my screen can some one give me some advise on how to get this back many thanks mark. I bought this laptop few months ago (still under replacement warranty) and facing some problems with the hard disc and keyboard
about keyboard
the base of the keyboard seems weak i.e. when I press a key the base slightly goes down too with the key and also the left ctrl key seems broken
when I was using the backlight I saw the reflection of left ctrl on the screen and I was shocked to see the broken key (light outlet was seen more)
what to do...please help me dell
about hard disc
whenever I boot windows either the hard disc or the disc dive (not completely sure though) makes a click noise (like a small metal rod hitting to another metal with small intensity)
the laptop is perfect which is the reason I am skeptical about almost everything
Im running windows 7 home on a dell 1745 laptop, needing to do a fresh instal but have lost my disc, can anyone advice please s its genuine, its still under warranty

I just received my new Inspiron 15Z with Windows 8 from Dell yesterday. i had purchased dell laptops eariler dell provided Windows OS Disc but for the DELL inspiron 15 z touch they didn't provided any Disc in case i have to take a back up of OS ?
Any reason why my brand new Inspiron 15 isn't picking up my Buffalo router? My phone picks it up just fine.

Ordered an Inspiron laptop on June 6th and received my second email saying the order is delayed! I'm so frustrated by this. What's the reason? Customer service can't give you any information, only that it's delayed. Really?
I have always ordered from Dell, recommend all my friends and family to order from Dell but now I'm reconsidering. Looks like it's time to cancel the order and go with a different company. Oh Dell, how you let me down! 
About a two weeks ago my Dell Studio 1555 started having trouble turning on. Sometimes it would start the first time i pushed the power button and other times it took multiple tries. If i couldn't get it to boot i took out the battery unplugged the computer and put the battery and power cord back in and it would work after a few tries. I ran diagnostics on the computer and found out i had a bad hard drive so i replaced the hard drive but i am still getting the same problem. Could it be a bad motherboard? i am fairly unexperienced with working on computers and don't have a clue what it could be. Thank you, John
Is it possible to get my Dell XPS 15 - L521X (with 512 GB SSD) to run cold, such that there is no need for the fan? I believe I need to reduce the CPU usage, since it is only a problem when the CPU usage is high. I have already put it to power saving mode, but that is not enough. I think I need to adjust the power saver settings or else maybe it is impossible. I was hoping that with no moving parts, I could get a totally quiet computer. I don't mind my computer's CPU performance being sacrificed in the name of quietness.

Actually works using Novatel software which is frustrating. Is there specific driver the Mobile Broadband Software requires?
Also no drivers are missing when check within device manager

3-4 days ago I was on my laptop, it was working fine, I left it on the side to grab some lunch and came back to it and it had turned itself off. The laptop had become overheated (which has happened in the past but not for a while). I went to turn it back on but the only light that appears is the power on (the first of the three lights at the bottom left of the laptop itself). Nothing else happens, the fan heats up a little, not too much and the screen stays blank. There are no beeps or anything like that.
What I have done to troubleshoot the issue (I AM NOT A TECHY - wish i was!)
It terms of the tech spec its a dell insprion 1564, 3 years old (ex warranty) core i-5 processor, 4gb ram, 500gb hard drive, windows 7 64 bit OS, no hardware modifications from initial purchase.
I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do - i have a hunch it maybe a faulty motherboard, but as i say i am no techy. Other thoughts could be the overheating could have melted something - it was hot but not that hot - as I say i am no techy and at a real loss here so any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought the latest Dell XPS 12 (Haswell) and really love it. The only problem I'm having is that when I leave it in sleep mode for more than 2 hours, it wont wake from sleep: the keyboard illuminates but the screen remains black. Pressing any key will not turn on the screen. I am forced to hold the power button until the keyboard lights turn off and then turn the laptop on as usual. I'm afraid that this will wear out the power button slider. Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately, I just realised that I lost the cd of windows (windows 7 Home premium) of my laptop (INSPIRON Q15R). The problem is that I bought this laptop 2 years ago in Greece but now I am in Germany, so I do not know in which regional office I need to refer to in order to replace my lost cd (I hope that this is possible). I have all the necessary documents ( receipt etc.). Thank you in advance for your time.
