Hi,

I have a had Dell XPS 15z for a around a year and a half and it very suddenly stopped charging whilst plugged in. I didn't notice until the low battery warning came on that the computer had stopped recognising the battery or the charger. I rebooted and went on BIOS, I don't know much, but I noted that it didn't see an adapter plugged in and it said that the battery is functioning normally. I've plugged the adapter into other laptops and it worked so it isn't the adapter(I don't think,) what can I do?

I just ordered a Latitude 3330 and I'm surprised by the lack of information for it online. I have a basic question. My machine configuration has 4GB RAM (1x4) and I see the specs say maximum is 8GB. My question is does the laptop have 2 DIMMS slots so I just need to get another 4GB for the blank DIMM slot, or does it have a single DIMM slot, so I need to get a 8GB DIMM and replace the 4GB DIMM with it?

Hi everyone,

I got this problem suddenly after I installed a plugin for online shopping from a bank and the whole keyboard is not working.Then I delete that plugin and   restarted the laptop several times, but it doesnt work.

I can enter the password but I need to be quick since it wont work after like 10 seconds. And I can only type one character and then it is not working.

I can get in the BIOS page and there the keyboard is working well. So I am worderning the hardware is not broken. Are there any button for lock the keyboard or does anyone know how to solve it?

Hi Everyone,

I have Dell Inspiron n5010 it is automatically shuting off after 5 min, 2 min, 1 hour and sometimes I press power button it not starts.

I cleaned fan, heatsink and apply new thermal paste but problem didn't solve and also resold power jack but power jack is working properly.

Can I change Adapter 65w to 90w and is it possible my adapter is not bearing load?

Please help me.

Hello.

I had a problem with my Note, first the Harddrive was broken and i exchanged the harddrive. Now during new start up, it was not possible to restart it. So i made an BIOS reset. Now it is still not possible to restart and i get 5 beeps - what due to manual means "Real Time Clock Failure".

What is it?? And how to solve??

I've installed Max Payne 3, the gameplay is decent during the first 5-10 mins i.e 40-50 fps, but then there is a drastic drop in frame rate to 8-10 fps, it stays at 8-10 fps for about 30-50 seconds and then goes back up to 40-50 fps, this happens even when paused!!! and occurs again after 2 mins. so every time there's a drop in frame rate I have to pause and wait for the fps to increase, its really frustrating . This happens to all games installed i.e Street Fighter X Tekken,NFS Hot pursuit, BF3...etc
the cpu temperature is 80to 86 and GPU temperature is around 88-93 degree Celsius while gaming
I thought its a driver problem, so installed a Beta version driver released by Nvidia, but the problem same. any ideas?


So, could it be a mt laptop problam or should I get a proper laptop cooler??

Hi everybody!

I recently bought an Inspiron 7720 with Win8 pre-installed. The only slow-down in its performance, is the 5400 rpm disk.

I installed a new SSHD (500GB Hybrid Seagate) as second drive and kept both drives. My thoughts are to have a dual boot using the SSHD with Win7 and leave the pre-installed drive intact with Win8.

I'm getting an error (0x80300024) before installing Win7, on the disk selection page for the installation. The SSHD is recognized both in BIOS and installation, as Disk 1.

Do I have to move it as 1st drive (Disk 0) in order to work? Do I have to partition it in a more "proper" way for the installation? I remember setting up Win7 on other pc's without any problem, even in a brand new unformatted disk. Setup takes care of everything.

If moving the pre-installed disk as second drive, will it loose it's ability to boot in Win8?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15z, bought in Jan 2013 in India.

For the past 10 days, the laptop gives out 2 short beeps, repeated twice, exactly every 30 seconds. I ran My Dell utility on my laptop to diagnose any hardware issues but it shows no errors.

What is it that my Dell is trying to tell me?

Friends, I am in trouble now. Last week, my laptop got crashed, and the only way I know to fix is to re-install the OS and I did so with the OS CD provided with the shipped box. Everything was successful, and that was not for long time. Currently my machine getting booted, but it is not detecting any drivers, all the desktop images and fonts are huge and it is not detecting my Wi-Fi. I tried installing all the drivers from CD, it is getting installed, but no changes.

Please help me on this.

I too like many of the individuals in the forum can not get my wireless to work. I am working on the laptop for a friend and installed Win 7 64 bit. I have everything working except when I unplug the ethernet cord I get not. The wireless light is on but I can not even search for nearby wireless devices to log in. Can someone please answer me asap I would really like to finish the laptop for the friend.

Does anybody know what kind of SATA use in Dell Studio 15 (1555), SATA 1, 2 or 3?

Windows Version: XP Home Edition SP3

I checked the disk management. There are 3 partitions and one of them has a volume name DELLRESTORE, status is labeled healthy but unknown. I've tried several times to press Ctrl+F11, it beeps for a while but it never brings up the Dell PC Restore by Symantec. I also tried F8 and the advanced startup options doesn't have the repair or restore option. Is there any other way to restore it? Some sort of software or something? Please help me!

Hey.

Wrote already yesterday. The problem with the real time clock failure is solved. I pressed the power button for some secondes after taking off battery and ac adapter.

 

After this the Laptop started, but stopped in a black screen with blinking cursor in left corner. Kept in on for awhile, but nothing was changing. So switched it off.

After switching off and restarting, i can see the light on the keyboard flashing, like usual when it wants to start and then its quickly switching off again. Tried this 3 times. At the second time i already saw the dell symbol on the screen, like it happens during start up, but then was switching off again.

 

No idea, what can the problem be?? From my point of view, cannot be a problem with the power, as i had static black screen with blinking cursor before. Makes no sense.

 

Please help!

Hi

I'm using DELL Inspiron N5050. When I start my laptop it boots with a slow speed,after the desktop icons are loaded a colourful splash screen is appearing and after 5 minutes it gets off. And sometimes producing 7 beep sounds on startup. Can anyone tell me wat is d problem with it and solution for it???

Hello,

I own an Alienware m17x with an Nvidia 560m graphics card. On Dell's drivers page, it notes that the BIOS is an urgent update for the card. I have experienced some bugs with the card, so I'm hoping that this will help fix some problems, however, the issue I have encountered is that I can't figure out how to flash the BIOS. The download is an ISO image which I have burnt to a disc, but when I try to boot from it, my computer simply says "Operating System Not Found". I also tried booting it from a USB drive, but it produced the same results. I'm getting rather flustered as I have tried many different things to get it to work. Any ideas? I'm wondering if the ISO doesn't include all of the necessary files. The download can be found by following the link below.

My Inspiron 14z on day 2 of use wouldn't shut down. Whenever I click shut down, it restarts instead. I tried both signing out first before shut down as well as shut down from settings. I'm running windows 8. After about 8 times of failure to shut down I forced shut down with the power button. However when I tried to boot it again, I got the error which said my PC need to be repaired.

I read responses to a similar complaint on this forum and tried to boot from safe mode but it wouldn't. The dell logo appears but the dots do not. Any help?

I purchased this laptop from a reseller about 4 months ago. It has been upgraded to the following by the reseller: i7-3630QM 16GB DDR 3 nVidia GT 650M 256 SSD + 1TB HD To be honest I purchased the laptop for photo processing and graphic work, which it is great for. However I've just started to try Starcraft 2 and it just shuts down pretty shortly after starting a game. When the system is idle the temperature of the video card is around 40c. I had the game windowed doing pretty much nothing and it shot to around 83c. Then I go full screen and about 30 seconds later the laptop just turns off. I ran the optimiser from nVidia for Starcraft 2 and it puts all the settings around Ultra. Is this normal? The game runs fine and no lag, but the laptop just can't seem to keep the temperature down... I've just updated the BIOS run the F12 diagnostic, and compressed air the vents etc to no avail. I wanted to know if this is to be expected or whether there is something wrong with my unit. As I've already had a technician out for something to do with the casing and I didn't want to get another one out for no reason!

Hi,

I have an Inspiron 15R 5521 (Service Tag: Admin Note: Removed Service Tag as per Privacy Policy) running Windows 8 Enterprise.

 

When I try to run analyse system for updates from here, it fails and says "We're sorry, we were unable to analyze your system.".

 

I have tried this in up-to-date IE10 and Chrome 28.

 

Please advise.

My laptop  is DELL Inspiron N4010 with I3 processor with windows 7  home premium

I unsinstalled Intel Pro wireless and installed the driver  using the CD provided by DELL.

The program is no longer  listed under Control Panel > Programs

but the software is working and I am able to connect to my Wifi router. I have to uninstall and install it again

How do I repair this  to solve the problem of  My WIDI software  which is giving a error " unable to load MY wifi dll "

I have been using Dell Inspiron n4050 for about 1 year 2 months. I had to face blue screen error after using 3 months and that problem was solved after re installing windows. Now I have to face the following problem while starting it:

When I press the power button, nothing happen unless i press any key. If I press any key, I get the following message:

Then it starts the windows. I re install the windows but problem isn't solved. I can't start windows without pressing any key.
