Hi, When I got my laptop a little under a year ago it was a godsend, running everything I wanted on high. However recently it has lagged so much in all the games I had run perfectly on ultra settings before. So, I got antivirus protection as well as mal-ware protection and processor cleaners, no dice. I want to reset my system but I upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 and heard that there is issues when using that function if that is the case. Please, any input would be great. And, if you know how I can reset my computer without issue please share. Thanks in advance.

inspiron laptop has 5 beeps x 4 and then 3 beeps on start up
My laptop has started making a seies of 5 beeps 4 times and then 3 beeps on start up. Is this something dire or can I just put up with it? Should I be doing something to stop it if it is a warning?
As you can tell I am not very technically minded so please if there is an anwer keep it simple for me.

DELL 7548 with TN screen?
I'm running the HWinfo program and it says the screen is a auo b156hw01 v.0
looking this up online says it is a TN screen?, I thought all the Dell 15 7000's are IPS
my 7548 has a i7-5500U and 8gb the mid range model.

soon to get a baklit keyboard and need close up with so called tabs in battery bay or do i need to bother with that?
ITS A DELL E6400 LATITUDE. I know theres 2 screws atop to take out old keyboard, but someone said theres tabs underneath? i dont see it....where? is it needed, or just the two top screws? AND....NO extra ribbon needed for baklit from prior non baclkit? just plug and play? I took out keyboard once but corner id keyboard right sits higer presently...until i get new one.
FYI....IM IN THE MIDDLE OF GRIEVING OF BROTHERS SUDDEN DEATH AND NEED HELP TO THINK. I NEED EXTREME CLOSE UP IF TABSW UNDERNEATH AND WHICH WAY TO SLIDE THEM. GOD BLESS.

Bluetooth Upgrade to Dell Latitude E4310 not Activated
I upgraded the wireless card to my Latitude E4310 to include Bluetooth, The card is an Intel 633ANHMW which is the same card as in my daughters Latitude E4310 which works great. I confirmed that the BIOS are set to Bluetooth and that the radio switch is NOT set to turn the Bluetooth feature on and off. I tryed to install the Bluetooth software from the Dell Support Driver site and when loading, it stopped and requested that I "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch". I ran the Dell hardware diagnoses software and it returned a clean bill of health. I also tried to find the Bluetooth device using Devices and Printers and it didn't find the Bluetooth. That is as far as I have gotten, Please help.

XPS 13 bezel
A three-week old XPS 13 (9343), I've been very gentle with it, and now this. You can sort of push it back in, but after the lid is closed for some time and then opened, it's back.
Is this normal? Is it fixable? Am I insane to be complaining about something like this?

Inspiron N5110 Charging
My dad has an N5110 that can't seem to hold a charge. He bought a new battery and it seems to be the same. It can run all day plugged in. He can put it to sleep, unplug it, move it just about anywhere, plug it back in and open the lid and all's well. Open the lid before it's plugged in and all's kaput.
I'm suspecting the charge circuit, but that doesn't mean that's the problem. Does the IO board have that circuitry on it or would I be looking at a motherboard replacement?

latitude 7350 keyboard
I live in Greece and i cannot find a 7350 laptop with the optional battery in the keyboard. My question is this:
If i buy a 7350 latitude with a keyboard that doesnt have the battery will i be able to install a battery later , when ever i find one to purchase, or i have to buy a new keyboard with the optional battery

My laptop won't turn on
Hi I have a Dell inspiron 1525 I know it's really old now but can someone please help
When I press the power button nothing happens, it won't turn on. Ive tried the static thing which on read on other posts but didn't work. Another thing I've noticed is the adapter when it is just plugged into the wall the green light is on but as soon as I plug it into my laptop the green light goes off.
I know it is probably due to old age but if someone knows a way of fixing it that would be great but if it can't be fix is there any way of me getting my files like pics etc off my old laptop to put on a new one.

No internet or USB access after re-install XPS L502X
Hello,
Long story short, I have recently re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed Win7. After the install I found I had no internet or USB drives working so had to jump on the Dell driver site and download the wireless drivers, which finally gave me access to the internet.
However... after this small victory I still had no access to my USB drives so thought the best approach was to flash the BIOS with the latest driver... that was a big mistake as I'm back to square one again (No internet or USB access), but this I believe Windows can't even see the wireless card, so regardless of what driver I try to install it doesn't see the device so wont work... I think this is a BIOS related issue but am stuck as to what to try next...
Any help or guidance would be gratefully appreciated.

Dell Latitude E6520 bottom cover screw size?
I bought a used E6520 and a number of the bottom cover screws are missing. I've consulted Dell documentation, the internet and this forum and can't seem to identify the size of these screws. Can anyone tell me what the size is so I can replace them? I don't have the means to accurately measure an existing screw.

I need to get this thing charging again.
I'm trying to breath new life into an old laptop. I have the N5010 (Service tag:<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>).
The original charger was lost long ago, I have a charger with (almost) matching specs.
The computer takes 19.5v, 65w. The charger I'm using supplies 18.5v, 65w.
The computer starts up just fine and runs as long as it's plugged in. The battery doesn't charge.
I've already purchased a new charger and it's on the way but I worry that the problem may not actually be the charger, but the battery it's self. Should it be charging? I've done quite a bit of work so far and the computer is actually running flawlessly now, in fact I'm typing this message using the laptop. There has been no overheating or performance issues or unexpected shutdowns at all. Seems like the laptop is perfectly compatible with this charger. The computer indicates that it's plugged in, but the battery meter stays at 0%, as soon as it's unplugged it shuts off.
Any advice is appreciated.

Hearing beep sound ( 8 beeps) when I try to power on Dell Inspiron 15R

I am not able to see any display on the screen when I try to switch on my laptop.
I am hearing 8 beeps in a cycle. What could be the issue? Pl help me out. Can it be LCD issue as I am not able to see anything on screen?

XPS 13 touch (early 2015) will not start beyond showing mouse cursor
My nearly brand-new XPS 13 touch just quit. Win 8 pro 512 GB ssd
When I turn it on the screen remains black except for the mouse cursor and the brightness indicator in the upper left corner of the screen.
The mouse cursor tracks both the touchpad and a USB mouse. NO program icons appear. Pressing the Windows key does nothing that I can see.
Please help.

Still having intermittent CardReader issues a month later, so I went to the support site to see if there is a new driver (just in case) and LOH-and-BEHOLD there is a driver from January 15 for the Realtek CardReader.
AWESOME! New Driver!
Except... Probably not.
Because I started having this issue back in April? So why is there a new driver listed as new as of January?

See, I started having this issue back in April, so I tried to download latest driver (like many of us here) from the support site and it was listed as:
Realtek CardReader Driver v6.3.9600.21261 (A00) October 24, 2014
Which is now the driver version for the "New" driver last updated Jan., 15, 2015
Tried to install it anyway and yeah.
STILL EPIC FAIL.
And no one at Dell really seems to give a ***.
So keep that in mind if you are thinking about buying one of these...

Hard drive capacity on XPS 13
I have a new Dell XPS 13 with the hard drive rated at 128GB. Yet when I open the computer the C drive shows a capacity of only 108GB not 128GB with unused space of 83.6 GB. Why the capacity difference? Is there a problem with the computer?

Inspirion 5110 USB ports not working
All of sudden I can't hook up my digital camera in the USB port. I get a notification from within the Device Mgr.:
I've attempted to reinstall a device driver. Windows first says that I don't have a device driver to update, so i attempt to install one. Then it says the device driver is a duplicate. Error message 45 and 43. I've updated the BIOS, same version would not reinstall. Attempted to reinstall the camera (device) driver from the Canon (mfg)...no good. What to do? I'm at a loss.

Dissatisfied customer: XPS13 Touchpad
Got the new XPS 13 (2015), and as EVERYBODY mentioned (for example here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/xps-13-one-of-the-worst-touchpads-ever.770504/ and countless times on your own community website: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19616659 ) I have the same touchpad issue.
I called Customer Service today only to request the operator forwards my complaint to higher management.
He wasn't aware of any issues affecting the new XPS 13 touchpad. Obviously.
But I believe that the more people report the issue, the less DELL will be able to ignore it. Time will tell.
DELL, please provide a new touchpad driver !
