I have had this laptop for years but not used it very much only because, when i turned it on the screen is black but the computer seems to be starting up xx i have tried F8 and F12 and it hasnt worked any help would be appreciated xx thank u xx

Dell Laptop E5520 I7-2620M w/Intel Graphics 3000
Strange Problem?
After sitting (turned off) overnight, laptop hangs on boot, will not start, turn off, it will start normally and run normally all day.
Put laptop in Dell recommended repair facility, was told mother board was bad and repairs would be from $250.00 - $750.00 (OUCH)
The laptop passes all Support Assistant dell tests (have results), ran tests several times just to be sure.
Again after start up hang up, it will boot normally (non UEFI) and run all day.
Does the group also feel that the Mother Board is on it's way out ?

Dedicated graphic memory
I have a Studio 1749. The amount of dedicated graphic video is 128 MB. Is it possible to flash the BIOS to get that value to 512 MB.? I have 8 GB of RAM installed. Or is there another way?

New Dell XPS 13 (9343) not wake up
Hi,
Last night I was using my New Dell XPS 13 (9343) and everything was ok.
Today when I tried to use the PC again it did not start anymore. The power button light is on, the keyboard light is also on but the screen remains black.
Does anyone know how I can fix?

Dell Inspiron 560 - operating system corrupted
Hello,
I am not sure what happened but when I go to turn my pc on, it will show the main dell logo with the options to select F2 and F12 but after that, it goes to a black screen with a white cursor at the top left. I have tried booting my pc with other options such as DVD or USB. I think I downloaded the correct file on my usb to try to load the operating system back on but I still don't know how to run it exactly..if that makes any sense. The option to select F8 to set my computer to factory reset is not working. I really don't care if I loose my info, I just want my pc up and running. Any help here?? Thanks!

Swapping Function Key Functionality
The function keys along the top of the keyboard of the XPS 13 9343 are used primarily for adjusting volume, screen brightness, multimedia, etc, and secondarily as traditional F# keys when the Fn key is depressed. Is there a Fn lock, or a quick way to swap functionality so that F# is the primary functionality and volume, brightness, multimedia, etc are secondary?

Inspiron 1525 H/W upgrade
Hi All,
Would you please advise on hardware upgrade for a 2008 Dell Inspiron 1525 piece ?
I would like to upgrade the processor (if possible), the RAM modules and have an SSD instead of the current HDD.
I guess I cannot upgrade the Chipset and Motherboard, please tell me otherwise if it is possible to upgrade these as well?!.

Real tek PCI: PXE-E61
I bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 and kept it in a good condition for almost 4 years, Just recently around last week I've been getting this problem: "Real tek PCI: PXE-E61: MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE, PXE-MOF: EXITING PXE ROM. REBBOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE." My warranty only lasted a year so getting a new one isn't possible so I went ahead and installed a new hard drive. I knew it was the hard drive since I diagnosed it but even after I installed the new hard drive the same problems keeps appearing. I even diagnosed it and it says there was no problem in the system, especially the hard drive. Is there any other problem that I've not checked?

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 3147 Bluetooth, touch screen problems.
Im facing multiple issues. Firstly whenever I turn on the laptop after sleep mode the touchscreen starts behaving erratically, touch is active without me touching the screen and in 2 or 3 particular areas. after i sleep and turn on again it works fine but does the same thing after some time. bluetooth is not working properly as after connecting(it shows bluetooth device has connected and working but no sound in the bluetooth device). Also when i open apps from start menu they dont show up in the taskbar on desktop mode. I have updated all drivers etc but no solution. anyone facing similar problems and solutions for these problems??

Dell Inspiron 17 FN key not working ONLY in Windows
Used machine, did all the updates (even have Update Manager on here, which says I'm up to date), and Windows 8 only recognizes the keyboard as a standard ps/2. I can use the FN key up until it boots into Windows (changing brightness, backlight on/off), but once in Windows, I can't. Can't find a driver for this keyboard either.
Any suggestions?

New Dell XPS 13 9343 Coil Whine
I recently received the new Dell XPS 13 with 8GB RAM and i5 processor (non-touch matte display). I have noticed it has a noise that I believe to be coil whine coming from the keyboard. I can hear it when sitting in a normal position and have to say it is irritating when trying to work. It seems to be worse when charging at 100% battery, but is still audible at all other times. Any ideas on how to fix this?
