All of a sudden, computer would not boot up. I was not watching the screen, so I shut down and started again. It showed the dell logo, then it disappeared and nothing else happened. Somehow I got to diagnostics and ran complete diagnostics, all of which said everything passed. However, it took all day to do it. Everything seemed to run VERY SLOW. Then I rebooted, it said Windows could not load (or something like that) and asked if I wanted to repair. I said yes. Then later it asked if I wanted to use a restore point, and I said yes. The computer finally came on line. Everything seemed slow, but it worked. The next day, again, it would not come on, This time I was unable to do anything. I used F8 and again got to repair, but this time, it took forever to load windows files, but nothing happened after that. When I selected repair, the lines on the screen disappeared one at a time, very slowly.

Problem With Switchable Graphics Dell Inspiron 15R 5537
Hello,
I have a dell inspiron 5537 laptop.I just update my bios version from A07 to A08 but on restrating the pc i noticed that the configure switchable graphics option on right clicking is not appearing now and on trying to open the catalyst control center the message displayed is that THERE IS NO AMD GRAPHICS CARD DETECTED.
Please Help me out with this issue.

DELL M4600 & Signed Firmware Updates
Hello,
I'm having a problem updating my BIOS from A08 to A16. I found out the problem is with the Signed Firmware updates being enabled in the bios.
Is this any work around for this?
Ive tried to use CCTK along with the Command Line to try to disable but nothing is work.
I have looked at post back from 2005 about this and them saying Dell needs to replace the board. Is there still not fix for this?

Latitude E4300 will no longer accept same password that I have been using for several ears
All of a sudden my Dell Latitude E4300 will not accept the password I have been using for several years! I tried going into the system settings and resetting the password to the same thing it was before, but that didn't work. The password works for logging on the computer but not for logging on to Windows. Another laptop I have (Dell Latitude D531) is set for the same password, and it still works fine. Can anyone help me?

Dell XPS 15 L501X Battery not charging
Hi,
Recently my laptop started to not charge the battery every time it was plugged in but about 3 days ago it completely stopped charging the battery. I also have that little pop up message about the battery not charging as the adapter could not be recognized.
I have tried a different supply cord so far which was not the issue. Dissemble the whole computer to see if there was any apparent damage to the input jack from the inside. Again everything seems to be completely fine.
My question now is: Could it be the battery or the motherboard. If it's the mother board, does it mean that it is starting to go and will most likely die soon? I have had the laptop for 5 years now.

Dell inspiron 17r se 7720 cpu upgrade to i7 3630qm

Few days ago I bought from ebay i7 3630qm and wanted to upgrade my i5 3210, upgraded power supply from 90w to 130w, replaced cpu today and laptop not booting -power led turns on for a few second and goes off , nothing on the screen , I have a friend who also have the same laptop so I tried cpu with his mobo but results were the same, I put back i5 and all is ok.As far I know motherboard hm77 should support that cpu , seen many laptops with that cpu on youtube.Battery trick didn't work.

Bluetooth not working anymore after update to Win 8.1
Hello Everyone,
I have a dell Inspiron 17R (5737, Mid 2013).
1) Updated Dell Pc from Win 8 to Win 8.1
2) Bluetooth not working anymore.
3) Unable to install Bluetooth Drivers via dell drivers. says "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch" and I cannot continue even after switching.
4) In Windows Device Manager "Bluetooth Audio Device" has a yellow warning and the driver therefore is not working.
5) In the Log I find "[09:57:42] <ERROR> EnableRadio - failed to load BtwRSupport.dll"

No Wireless Dell Studio 1749
This laptop has been sitting unused and broken for a while so today I decided to fix it and install a new hard drive. I reinstalled Windows and used the drivers CD to get the graphics and ethernet drivers, but I can't seem to get wireless internet to work? Any help?

Enable E6430 raid-0
I would like Dell to enable raid-0 in the bios hdd raid settings.
It's possible but instead of using fptw, UEFITool SetupPrep, and change line 2030 "the name of the setting ("RAID0"), the hexadecimal address in the NVRAM (0x19D) and its possible values (0 - Disabled/ 1 - Enabled)." it would be great if lovely Dell just activated the option in the official bios. Wouldnt cause problems. Only Dell goodwill from enthusiasts...
Would be great to make this lovely laptop even greater...

XPS13 L322X "Plugged in, not charging"
I guess this is yet another case of a laptop failing right after warranty expires.
I obviously have the problem so many had before me with a L322X XPS13.
I tried a brand new Dell adapter at a shop, didn't solve the problem.
I had the laptop plug and cable changed, didn't solve the problem.
I changed the battery, didn't solve the problem.
I drained the residual power, updated everything, reinstalled drivers and even windows. Guess what? Yep, didn't change a thing.
I now have an XPS13 that is at 9% from a brand new battery that is going down each time I have a security check at the airport... It's a matter of time until I have to leave it home because it won't charge.
I have now ordered a brand new mainboard / motherboard because it actually is the only thing that is involved in charging the battery I haven't changed...
I'll let you know, what happens with it, guys...
But now, what I can say is Dell laptops sux big time if you are stupid enough not to buy the extended on site support.

Dell Latitude E7440 - Keyboard behaving weird
Hi Team, My new Dell Latitude E7440 is giving such problem which doesn't have a solution on Google. Keys like windows key gets disabled, Windows + D, Windows + R doesn't work. Arrow keys doesn't work. Sometimes arrow keys rotate screen without pressing any other keys. Alt + Tab shows multiple windows stuck but doesn't switch between them. I shows this to my office's dell support guys. They formatted the laptop but it didn't work so they gave me a new one but same thing is happening with this new laptop as well. I am not sure what kind of issue is this. This happens multiple times a day and gets alright on its own. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks, Himanshu

It was easy on old bios' because there was a list with cd, usb, etc... now I can't see them anymore

XPS 12 (9Q33) A07 BIOS update problem
I saw there was an update to my XPS 12 (9Q33, Mid 2013) BIOS about a week ago and decided to install it at some future date. Well today is that future date, and I now regret having done so. As you can see in this picture of the screen (with some minor photoshopping to protect my privacy) it shows 59% programming EC. As I type this, it has been stuck at that point for the last 35 minutes with the fan running very loudly. EDIT: Correction, I just checked and the clock has advanced as has the progress bar, but only to 65% and that's after roughly 40 minutes (difference between that desktop gadget's displayed time, and the system tray time).
I have unplugged the system from power and am now waiting for the battery to die out so that I can determine if my XPS 12 is dead as a brick. Dell, please remove the A07 BIOS update from your site, because as I, and the others who have posted here about this exact same issue have discovered, is clearly a bad update that does bad things to those who install it. I wish I had searched this forum first, and avoided this awful mess.
Now, to the inevitable question regarding my installed video driver version, I don't know what it is, and it may be hours before I know what it is, assuming the laptop works again at all. My best guess is that it is the one currently available on the support page (XPS-9Q33_Video_Driver_1N5FK_WN_10.18.10.3574_A04.EXE), since it appears from my included picture that I downloaded a file on June 27th that is roughly the same size as that file released on May 28.
If the system does boot up, I intend to revert to the A06 BIOS to avoid the issues that others have experienced with A07.

Precision M6600 SATA II or III or both?
This precision has 2 hard drive bays. I have looked through spec sheet and I think I am seeing that there is (1) SATA III 6GB/S which is the main hard drive, and a second bay (2) that will allow another drive, therefore allowing a RAID configuration.
The question:
Are both of the drives bays (1) and (2) SATA II (3GB/S) or SATA III (6GB/S), or is there one of each, and which is which??

In no way it is possible to enable Remote Access from a remote computer both with preinstalled software AND Windows 8.1 professional. This seems to involve BIOS but I find no parameter to set. Any clue?
