Having an absolute nightmare after an engineer visit to fix a touchpad button on my XPS L502x
Engineer replaced the Palmrest, then A few minutes after he had left, The laptop screen went blank and appeared to be going into a standby mode ? Couldn't switch it off via the power button so had to remove battery before powering back up. But after reboot it would do the exact same thing again. Noticed the media touch buttons top right above keyboard were weirdly blinking on and off every few seconds.
Contacted support who got me to run a firmware upgrade at boot up to do with quickset ?. This made no difference and telephone support told me to stick with using it as it is until Monday ! ( Guess it was late Friday and he wanted to go home !)
But since gone to turn the laptop on today and it doesn't even power on at all ! So seems to have died completely. Absolutely disgusted with this situation which has seemingly all occurred since the Dell engineer did a fairly minor palmrest replacement yesterday. Now without my important PC that I do a lot of productivity until support figure out what to do about it .
Not good Dell ! Not good at all.
