I have Dell Inspiron 15R touchscreen and was wondering if I can use a stylus. Please recommend one. Can I use stylus made for mobile phone and tablets since there are many available in market at very low cost.

It just restarts after about ten minutes of normal use. There's no blue screen that pops up, and, after I ran a diagnostics test, it did not show any errors. Help!

So it's the 17th today and it doesn't look like the laptop is in the country. WW have today updated their ETA to the 20th. How nice of them, but not what we were told by the Dell guy.
I am aware of Dell's policies on delivery. Absolutely no responsibility taken from the moment the thing is in the hands of the carrier. Fine. At least use a reasonable carrier.
The moral of the story - if you are in a rush, don't buy Dell. Don't believe them when they say you will definitely have your computer by a certain date. They are just trying to sell you things.
Also, get a UK support site. I have no interest in twitter.

Hi, I have a Dell E4310 that stopped working recently.
When plugging it in to the power, both the Power and WiFi lights come on solid. Every 5 seconds the power light blinks off and back on. The WiFi light remains solid.
Nothing appears on the screen at all.
Tried re-seating / Changing Ram, HDD, DVD etc.
Any Ideas?

I have Inspiron 3521 laptop (service tag 9BYMGW1) with Windows 8. It seems like I have a fault with the hard drive (Samsung ST750LM022): I can load Windows, however quite often the hard drive usage is 100% and programs do not respond / return error messages. I have carried out Dell Diagnistics from boot menu and received Error Code 2000-0142 with Validation 106051. Does this mean that I need to replace the hard drive? How could I transfer the factory image to the new hard drive? How could I get Windows on the new hard drive if I fail to transfer the factory image? Where could I get the product key for my Windows?

i have a dell inspiron laptop and it has the power light on but will not start, no noises or beeps. i have tried taking the battery out and pressing the on button for a minute, then connecting the power cable and it still won't turn on. the power light goes on and if the power cable is in that lights up too. i did install a wacom pen and tablet yesterday, would this have anything to do with this problem?

From the time I upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1 Its facing problem,I do even check for windows official update.
1.Wifi does not get connected at first time,after twice or thrice it gets connected.
2.It Heats alot(already installed graphic driver from ATI)
3.When I start it some time it give me 5 beeps(CMOS battery failure may be)-but don't know where to buy.

Hi, just got my new Latitude E5540 with backlit keyboard. I can't find the setting for the time the keyboard stays lit. It switches off after only 10 seconds and I have to hit a key to switch it back on. This is very annoying because hitting a key will make changes to the program running at the time. I need to keep my keyboard backlight always on (because of the lighting conditions I'm working in).
My Latitude E5540 Windows 8.1 pro has no <Dell Quickset> or "Dell Customised" <Windows Mobility Center> installed. Does anyone know where the settings are hiding in this model, or is there an application missing in my laptop?
I've tried BIOS settings as well but there are only adjustments for OFF and BRIGHTNESS level, not for time.

I have a great working E6540 laptop but it lacks bluetooth and I want to add it. I heard the Intel 6235 mini card will work, but I also wanted to know if the Intel 7620 card will work also? I mean I can buy the 6235 module all over the place, for as cheap as $15 but I can't find the 7620 module anywhere. Is that some kind of "special" module or something? Anyway, right now my laptop has the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN module, but that lacks Bluetooth. Hopefully the Intel 6235 has all that I need.

I ve called customer care and they offered me to send my laptop to the service to be fixed..
And i ve sent.. They sent me laptop back almost a month later.. With exactly the same problems..
They put a paper in the box that saying "Driverss updated"
They said mainboard has changed.. And then i ve checked laptop.. What i see?
Some screws are missing o the laptops back cover..Which drove me more crazy..
I told them that laptop has still same hinge.. Same battery problem..
Such a silly things..Customer care told me that they will call me back.. But in 3 days they didnt call me.. Even i call them back few times..
I am an Extremely unhappy dell customer..
Probably never gonna buy anymore..

My original 1555 cover is blue part # W395J. Can I replace with covers that are a different color? I'm not sure if there were any design changes or are the different part numbers for 1555 covers to designate color? In other words, will a DHDP5 fit?
The latest version (33) of Firefox doesn't work on one of our computers. After downgrading back to Firefox 32.0.3, I researched the problem and found that it could be caused by outdated video drivers, so I went to the Dell site <dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/X0X0X0X/drivers>, ran a scan for updates, and found and installed several; however, I reran the Dell scan after installing and found that it wanted me to install some of the same drivers I had just installed - including the video driver. In all cases, I ran the installers as Administrator, and rebooted after the installs (even if the installers didn't ask me to), so what could I be doing wrong in the install process that causes the detection to fail to recognize the newly installed drivers?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R 5521, 750GB, Radeon 2GB Dedicated 8730 Graphics Card, 8GB RAM (Added 4GB More) since June-July 2013.
Since the time I got my laptop, the Refresh or Reset option from the Windows 8* settings never worked, it always showed a pop up saying 'Some files are missing from the recovery~~~~ something like that'.
Then on October 2013 when Windows 8.1* released, I had installed it.
Then after that I just wanted to try resetting my laptop cause there were many minor problems with the Graphic Driver & USB Ports.. & the refresh/reset had started to work properly but it always took my OS back to Windows 8 from 8.1.
1st problem: Now since 3 or 4 months I've been having a Wi-Fi problem, once I'm connected to a network, in between of 1 hour-1day gap, the Wi-Fi gets disconnected and when I search for the Wi-Fi connections, it shows only my connection & it goes to 'Limited'.
Whenever this happens I have to restart my laptop, then go to Device Manager & enable the automatically disabled Wi-Fi driver..
I need some serious help with this problem^
2nd problem: Ever since I got my Dell, the CD/DVD drive could never burn anything. Except for once it did burn a CD with Music properly. When I try to burn anything, it just ejects the disc & says 'Error: ~~~~' different errors everytime. I just want to know If I can get any new driver for my CD/DVD Input?
3rd problem: Now I'm stuck with Windows 8.1 & my computer has got really really slow. My Optical Mouse stops working for 5-10 minutes & then starts again making the noises that comes when you connect an USB. So I WANT to reset/refresh my laptop. but all of a sudden I get the same error I used to get when I tried to refresh with Windows 8.
