Dell Inspiron 15 7000 laptop keyboard not working

Before I discuss my issue I would like to say that i have been through so much problems with purchasing a laptop from Dell. I'll keep it short. Bought one laptop didn't work, second laptop replacement didn't work now I have a new 3rd laptop which is great and working, also would love it and appreciate it if I was given the same service you would be given on a technical phone support please, because I have gone through so much trouble and the support I was given was helpful and was happy with service but I do wish to do this in Dell support before I put my self to wait minutes on hold just to get support.

My problem started happening when I was typing in stuff in Google chrome search box as I was doing it my laptop froze and caps lock light on was still lit and frozen too. Couldn't do anything so i turned off my laptop and as i did that i got 3-4 beeps when turning it off and when i turned it back on i got another 3 beeps, after that I logged in and tested things out to see if i was only a small glitch or something but no. The touch pad was not responding when i clicked on the wireless connection but did work after though. So i'm not sure what caused this, I looked in "My Dell" for any blue screen crashes or issues i've might of had but nothing. But at least the keyboard was working for some reason but I would love to know why this has happen and get to the bottom of it.

Also when getting the laptop I did update everything but after 2 days with it. It's been fine just today (11/07/14), so I highly doubt it was any update.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 wont turn off at all.

I have a dell Inspiron 15R model N5010 laptop and just encountered this problem recently. Whenever I press the shut-down button, it tries to shut-down but kicks back on immediately. I am unable to shut-down my laptop and the only way to shut-down is to press the actual power button.

I recently purchased a replacement battery for the laptop but not sure if the new battery is causing the issue. I tried with the old battery as well and with no battery at all (plugged in) but the laptop still wont shut down.

I have tried almost everything from disabling the start-up programs as well as services to replacing the CMOS cell but no luck. Tried to search for a solution online but nothing yet. Can you please help me with this? I have no other choice left other than pressing down the power button which I don't want to keep doing as it might mess up my hard drive some day.

Thank you.

I have a Latitude D630 running Windows XP. I am able to type letters in any application, such as Word or Notepad, etc, but when I try to key in my password in the WiFi setup, all I get is a bonk sound when I try to enter letters. Numbers will go, just not letters or symbols. Consequently I'm unable to log in to my router since the password contains letters and numbers. This is weird. Help!

N7010 1st gen i7 cpu support

I have a N7010 with a dedicated ATI HD 5470, I've upgraded everything I could so far including the motherboard and cpu once already (integrated to dedicated and i3 to i5). I want to upgrade my cpu again, and am looking at either a i7 620m Arrandale, i7-720qm, or i7-q740qm Clarksfield. So far from my research these should be compatible with the HM57 Express chipset, and I've read it's been done before on n5010s. Would this be possible with a first gen i7 on a N7010 since they run off of the same HM57 express chipset?

start up is saying "Manufacturing Mode press Fn-X (level 01)"

Hello,

Using XPS15 L502X, on start up it's saying "Manufacturing Mode press Fn-X (level 01), Press Fn-X to return the system to normal running mode", and the fan is permanently blowing..., and every time a key is pressed it makes a beep sound...., also when the laptop is turned off if I plug the power cord into the back of the laptop it will automatically boot up without pressing the power button!

Not sure if it's related, last night when I stood up to get off the couch a pillow under my arm sprung up and knocked my laptop off the armrest and fell 1 metre to the floor...

What is the cause of this?, and how do I fix it?

Thanks

Inspiron 7737 Touchscreen and USB root hub gone AWOL

After the latest Windows update my machine restarted to no USB mouse activity. I checked Device Manager and could see that the USB root hub was not functioning so I then proceeded to reuse Windows update and it told me there was an update available for Intel USB hub so I ran this and after another restart and some fiddling (it tried to make me install a USB keyboard driver which I had to uncheck as it kept failing and preventing the mouse driver installing) I got my mouse working again.

However I now have no touchscreen functionality) this is shown as non fuctioning in the device drivers, it also says the transciever for the mouse isn't recognised but as the mouse works I don't really care about this).

In answer to the suspected responses, yes I do have a touchscreen (or rather did have!), yes I do have the latest BIOS, I've run the Dell update and touchsceen doesn't appear as an option for device drivers, no this is 99.999% not a hardware issue unless its unbelievably coincidental with Windows Update and no it did not give me an option to rollback my drivers for any of the devices that stopped working.

How do I get my touchscreen functioning again?

New XPS 13 (9333) Constant Noise

I have just recently received a new XPS 13 with the new haswell i7 processor, 8gb RAM, 256gb ssd, and windows 8.1.

I really like this laptop, but it makes a really bizarre noise. It happens constantly as soon as its powered on, like a high pitched whirring sound from somewhere beneath the keyboard. It also seems pretty inconsistent, like it flickers in frequency, and when you use programs (e.g scroll through webpages) it gets louder.

Can anyone help me with what the issue is here? Any help appreciated.

My laptop does not work anymore.

When I start it, only black screen and intermittent sounds liki bip-bip.

Neither the bios seems to initialize. I checked the ram, substituting it, and the hard disk, trying to start without it, but there was always the same problem.

What can I do? Thanks a lot for availability

Corrupt registry. cannot install any .NetFramework updates

Dell Espron laptop with Vista Home Premium.

My friend has been advised that the original registry installation may be corrupt.

He cannot update any  .Net Framework updates, after following a great deal of online advice over a period of two months or more.
its now suggested that his original installation files could be corrupted, and that he should use the disc that came with his laptop, to rectify the problem.
The Discs provide with the Laptop are

Operating System already installed on System
Drivers and Utilities  - Dell Espron
and Applications already installed

But none of these disks allow him to follow the paths suggested below

Steps to repair the .NET Framework installation

1.    Obtain the original installation source. For example, if you installed the .NET Framework from a CD-ROM or from a DVD, insert that disc. If you downloaded the .NET Framework , download the .NET Framework again. Make sure that you click save to disk. If you installed the .NET Framework from a network share, reconnect to that share.
 2.   Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then click OK:
    N:\dotnetframework\dotnetfx.exe /t:c:\temp /c:"msiexec.exe /i c:\temp\netfx.msi REINSTALL=ALL ReinstallMODE=vomus"
Note Replace N:\ in this command syntax with the original installation path.

He has "chckdsk"  "sfc scannow"  " clean install", and various "dotnetfix cleanup tools" and the tool to remove all .Netframework and reinstall them, although we understand that the first are pre-installed.
Can anyone resolve this problem for him, or suggest alternatives?  all other M/S upgrades install correctly.

Thank you

Dell Inspiron N5110 - General reduced Laptop Performance

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110.

Problem:

After two years, my laptop starts to have reduced performance in gaming and watching streaming videos.

I did a factory reset. Everything seems fine.

I did a test by installing Warcraft 3 which I played with no lag at all.

After that, I started to install/ update the Graphic drivers, Windows updates and installed Starcraft 2.

Then I played Warcraft 3 to test the performance and it lags like for every 2 seconds in game.

Please note that I test my system by playing WC3 after installing the following individual items:

Item 1: Graphics driver

Item 2: Windows updates

Item 3: Starcraft 2

Please note that I did three (3) factory resets.

This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 1, WC3 lags.

This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 2, WC3 lags.

This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 3, WC3 lags.

Please note that I did a hardware diagnostic test and I pass all the tests.

I also did played around with:

1) Power Settings

2) Nvidia Control Settings and used the my graphic card instead of integrated video card.

But I am still facing the lag.

At the moment, I am using my laptop at the factory settings and not installing any drivers or updates.

Can the community please advise on how to troubleshoot my problem?

Thank you in advance.

To solve this problem, I installed latest driver "Dell Multi-touch touchpad A09", then tried to re-start system.
However, System could not start, and was shift to recovery installation mode.

Above 2 trials were failure, and I can't solve this problem.

Anyone, please teach me how to install win-7 64bit and drivers correctly.

Hello!

Vostro 3360

OS: Win8.1x64

I can't seem to find the webcam driver for the above laptop. I've attempted removing the device via device manager and rebooting but Windows is not automatically detecting or reinstalling it. To eliminate this from being hardware failure does anyone know where I might be able to find the driver so I can try manually install it?

Many thanks!

xps 15 touch 9530 / CD installation issue

Hello all. This is my first Dell and am fairly happy with it. Except that the keys and the keyboard are smaller than the one I had in my prior Sony Vaio and I keep missing keys.

Anyway, I know I will take a lot of <profanity> for this question... but I want to continue using my office 2003 system in spite of being outdated. Problem is, it's on a CD. How can I install this from a CD? Are there any adapters? Should I buy an external optical drive to make it readable on my new Dell?

Please advise and understanding.

Inspiron E1505/6400 2000-0141 error no hard drive found

I have an older Inspiron E1505 that has been updated with a T7400 CPU, 4Gb RAM and a new SATA III Kingston 120GB SSD,   I have Win 7 Home Premium running on it.

The laptop recently started failing to boot with a "no hard drive found" error.  In testing, I have found that re-seating the drive results in a successful boot to Windows.  After some time, I suspect when the unit goes to sleep, I find a "no hard drive hit F1" error on the screen.

The SSD drive works fine in other machines or in an external case.  I can plug it into any other machine and read and write to it no problem.  I have been able to recover all data from My Docs and Favorites.  I am confident the drive is working properly.

I suspect the motherboard in the E1505 but I don't know how to confirm the failure.

Running the F5 diagnostics, the hard drive test fails with a no hard drive found error, everything else is great.

Any suggestions or comments on likely root cause and best fix?

I know this unit is old, it is my parents machine and has been extremely reliable till now.  They are not interested in adapting to  Windows 8, hence the load of Win 7 HP on the machine.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments.
