I've noticed recently that my Dell XPS 13 battery has been charging less and less. It started at 90%, then 75%, then 50%, and is now down to only charging about 30 or 32%. I typically leave the laptop plugged in and seldom use it with just the battery. I did push the button on the right side of the computer and there are only two LED lights lit out of the five. Is my battery bad or could it be the AC adapter. The adapter doesn't even feel remotely warm to the touch. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Dell Studio 17/1749 Light Blinks 3 Times but no Post
I just replaced the motherboard with a new one in this laptop and when I plug in the power the light blinks 3 times but the machine will not turn on. I have checked all connections, verified the correct voltage of power is going into the jack and to the motherboard. I have reseated the memory too. Any other suggestions?

Dell Inspiron 15r SE 7520 Shuts down after boot up
Hi folks,
Almost exactly a month ago i received my new Dell Inspiron 15r SE 7520.
Right from the start i'm having issues with booting up.
When the laptop boots up from either being shutted down or in sleep mode for i guess more than 2 hours, it crashes after approximately 1 minute after logging into my laptop.

In the video you will see that it takes quite a while to fully load all programs. I open Google Chrome (wich a always start with when booting up), this also takes a long time to load. When Google Chrome finally opens, the fan begins to blow harder for a second and then the laptop shuts down.
NOTE That this is not because of Google Chrome. Sometimes i do not use my laptop after logging in. And then it still shuts down after for about 1 minute.
I hope you can help me diagnosing the problem.

Weird Fan Behavior E6540 (A02 Bios)
So after having an issue with my palmrest (you can check my previous posts) and getting a system replacement, I am beginning to notice some weird behavior from the processor fan. It seems to sit at 0 RPM and spin up to ~3.5k RPM seemingly at random. It basically has no correlation with CPU load at the time. It just spins up the fan whenever it wants to. When it does, it spins up for about 23-30 seconds. This obviously creates a distraction in a quiet room. Whats also weird is that sometimes when it starts to spin up, the system will abruptly power down the fan. So instead of spinning up to the speed described earlier in this post (and spinning for 23-30 seconds), the machine just quickly turns it off abruptly (like after 1-2 seconds). Any ideas?
I have run several rounds of the pre-boot diagnostics and everything returns green. Can a Dell representative comment on what the minimum fan speed is for this laptop (besides 0 RPM = off).

L702X Bluetooth frustration
I opted for the Intel Pro set wireless on this computer when I bought it, giving me the ability to share my WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Lately I cannot keep my Bluetooth drivers installed. They either fail to install (with the latest download from Dell) or they are gone again on reboot. EXTREMELY frustrating. Windows 7 64 Home Pro. Any ideas?

Dell XPS L521x Four Problems (Not Charging, Heating, Display, Wifi)
Hi, I am from PAKISTAN, Their is no Official Dell Service providers in my country...So i am unable to fix out my problems... This is my first post here. I bought my Xps L521x in Jan 2013 at $1016, but all my investment for the future proof laptop wasted... Till Now i am suffering From 4 Big Problems,
Plugged in, not Charging: This Problem i faced after the 6 months of the purchase, when i plug the charger most of the time it won't charge, and status says "plugged in, not charging", when i checked on google i found that some other dell leptops in xps series have the same problem, so Unprofessional Company, but i found some solutions by the local users on youtube, unfortunaitly in every solution i have to pull out the bettry for few minuts/hours, but the bettry is fixed in L521x. I simply unable to pull it out.. This is very big issue for me, plz any one from Dell or from Users Tell me how to fix this..plz
Heating: This is another unprofessional consequence that L521x heats up, every Electronic product heats up but here the new thing is that it heats up below that laptop like every laptop as well as above the laptop...the entire left side and the key board on the left side gets very hot. Along with that the screen from the bottom to middle gets hot. Any Solutions???
Black Spot on the Display: Sometimes when i plug the charger a big and dark black spot appears on screen from bottom to middle, When i restart the Laptop the spot goes away. but when i next time or other day plug the charger than it again appears, so i have to restart the laptop when i want to charge it...what should i call it? simply nonprofessional. plz any solutions??
Wifi:Everyone is familiar about it,From the very first day i suspected that my product has a wifi issue, later on i checked on google and i found that many peoples are having this problem, i was waiting for the solution because in some threads of this forum dell representatives were answering that they are working on this and those threads was of 2012, so i concluded that dell is working on these solution from early days of the launch of this lapii, that give me satisfaction that now they will fix it very soon... Dell provided varius bios updates for this but none of them worked, but unfortunaitly some peoples posted that bios update effected their Graphic Card thats why I never updated the bios. What Should i do with this problem?? i am tired of it.
No Graphic Card Issue Yet: Some people are also suffering from the problem that their graphics card is not working any more and that is due to updating the bios, every new bios has a new problem and thats why i never updated it...
If any one can sort any issue are can consult me for any option than please tell me. Specially plugged in, not charging and black spot problems are the big issues for me.

Software for External Mike Fails to Launch
I just got a brand new Dell Laptop and installed a software for recording with an external microphone with ots latest driver . I connected the hardware and microphone to the laptop as instructed. Everything on that side is done according to installation procedure.
When I double click the software shortcut it fails to launch. I try to launch it as an administrator, it does not work. I double click the main "***.exe" file in the Programs folder, but nothing happens. I rebooted the puter and tried it a few times, nothing works.
The software is up to date and the puter is brand new. What could be wrong?
I have a feeling that "MAXX Audio 4 Sound Manager" that is pre-installed on the laptop may be preventing that software from launching. Could this be the problem? If so, how can I bypass it and get the darn software to launch?
Is it possible to temporarily disable "MAXX Audio 4 Sound Manager"?

Back Up CD for my laptop
Hi,
I recently purchased Inspiron 15R. And I noticed that Dell did not provide Back Up system CD for my laptop. Is there a way that I can buy separate from Dell?
On a side note, I tried backing up via Dell Backup and Recovery. However, it did not work because the system asked me the memory card / hard disk of 100 GB and above.
I tried using my existing hard disk to back up. But, the system warmed that if I do so, my hard disk will be formatted and I will lose all my data completely.

Latitude E5530 optical drive
Hi, I bought a Latitude E5530 off the outlet but it didn't come with an optical drive and instead just has a blanking plate. I'm trying to work out which drives are compatible with the E5530 so I can purchase a replacement (I'm in the UK), I have checked the Dell site but the price they're charging is a bit over the top (not far off half the cost of the laptop). Dell only list the drive as being compatible with the E5430 and the E5530, is that correct or is compatibility any wider? Is it a standard optical drive with a custom bezel and back plate?

which drivers should I download?
Hi, I am updating the drivers of my alienware 14 (I changed the HDD to a SSD) but in the download page I have 2 options, one says "Dell Update Packages in Microsoft Windows 32-bit format can be deployed on Microsoft 64-bit operating systems by implementing the WOW64 emulation applications." and the other one is the default option, 32 bit I guess?

Dell Inspiron 15 7000(7537) WiFi issue
Hi,
I purchased the dell inspiron 7000 laptop last week. It has some issues with wifi connectivity.. Though it gets connected, we can see the signal bar fluctuating randomly and the speed of the interent connection is very slow. I am using the same connection for my phone and also checked it with other laptops and the wifi connection seems to have no problem. The download speed on the laptop shows 0.50mbps, while the download speed on another laptop connected to the same connection at the same time and spot shows 6.8mbps.
I have reported the issue the very next day of my purchase, so far I have not obtained any help from the dell customer support. Finally two days back I got a mail stating that there will be a service engineer visiting me in 2-3 working days. But ironically today I get a call form the customer support and they said the person wont be coming for the next week or so as they do not have the parts available.
Why would you want to change the part of a brand new laptop which is not even two weeks old????Is this a known issue for this model??

Inspiron 17R N7110 wont start up / black screen
Hello,
I have a major problem. My Inspiron 17R N7110 wont start up. The boot goes without a single interruption and the opening Windows screen is shown. After the Windows screen the screen goes black and nothing happens and the Laptop is still working.
When I go to the Safe mode it opens up perfectly fine. I have disabled the graphic card in the Device manager and restarted my Laptop in Normal mode. Windows starts up without a problem. But when i turn the graphic card on in the device manager and restart the computer its the same problem with the black screen.
Please tell me there is an another solution except replacing my motherboard.

Laptop won't start - Black Screen and series of bips
Hi everyone,
I'm having big trouble with my Studio 1555...
I had strange freezing bugs and the fan was very active so I thought I might open my laptop (I had done it already in order to change the screen) and try to dust it off.
One week later, freezing bugs almost having disappeared, suddenly I was not able to start my laptop anymore...
The sceen stays black, and I hear those bips. First, one long and 2 shorts, and then series of 6 bips that come repeatedly.
I spent one week trying to figure this out, I found that the 6 bips may signify a problem with the keyboard, and that the 1long-2shorts may signify a graphic card problem.
I thought, maybe I have disconnected a cable or a plug, so I opened my laptop again and checked everything, but still nothing. Some of the cables seem very fragile though, and I found somebody on the Internet having a similar problem and it turns out that it came from his fan, which was not powered anymore. So I thought maybe I could have broken the small power-cable of the fan, because I don't hear it anymore running when I try to start my laptop. Could this be possible ?
Would any of you have another idea, or have maybe encountered the same problem ?
The laptop is only 4 yr old, I don't want to throw it away....

Precision M6800 DVD noise or defective DVD drive
Hello Dell,
Got this new Precision M6800 and the DVD drive makes noise for almost every 2-3min but somehow it was solved following the A03 update and UsB 3.0 update. logged to BIOS and confirmed update. The DVD noise was gone but actually went back for 15-25min of use. I was installing different programs for work but DVD installation stopped and can't be read anymore. Is there any other way to fix this?

Dell inspiron n5050 black screen
I got a problem with dell inspiron n5050 with the black screen. When i restart the laptop after installing win 7 and a graphic driver (downloaded from dell website), the screen is black, i guess the laptop is running, however i can't see anything. tried some tricks like removing the battery, running with power cable, pressing the power button for a while, but all in vain.

Dell Inspiron 15 3521
I purchased my laptop on august 8th 2013. Recently it has had a problem where it will power on but it will not boot at all. Instead it will make seven beeps repeatedly. The service tag on the back has worn off and because it won't power on I can't check to see what the service tag is. Is there anyway you can help me with this situation.

XPS 12 9Q33 USB Problems
I've had this machine for about a month and have had a USB port/driver/who knows problems since. Had this problem with both Windows 8 & 8.1. First off, all drivers are up to date as far as I can tell. There is one driver that consistently appears on the Dell's driver/download screen, Intel Lynx Point Chipset Driver. No matter how many times I download and install it, it still pops up as a recommended driver.
For the problem: All of my USB drives whether it be a thumb drive or a portable, have never had any problems when connected to my desktop. However, I consistently have them drop when connected to the XPS. The portables drop the most. This happens no matter what I try to do whether it be accessing files, listening to music, watching vids, or copying from one USB drive to another. I currently plug the drives into a USB hub as the drops happen more often when they are directly connected to either of the two USB ports. No clue why that is. Maybe it's just luck. I ran diagnostics from the Dell site without errors so no clue what the problem could be.
