I recently purchased an antivirus software instead of using the free versions. Whenever, I try to run a full system it always gets hung up on Dell Photostage, it freezes and then the blue screen appears stating my computer has crashes and will restart. I've tried uninstalling Dell Photostage under Control panel Windows Installer starts the installation then it stalls and again my laptop crashes. So, I tried downloading ArcSoft's Installer Remover Tool, again same issue, it stalls and my laptop crashes. Instead of uninstalling I tried to repair Photostage but the same result. I was advised to try to uninstall in safe mode however my Windows Installer will not run in same mode even when I choose the with networking option.

I don't use the Dell Photostage application so it would be useful to uninstall it to free up space and to successfully run a full system scan, I'm not a computer whiz so if anyone can help and keep it in laymans terms that would be great

I simply want to give my opinion on the Dell Inspiron 13-7378 that I purchased four months ago.  It’s a great little laptop, fairly high quality.  One problem, however, is that the on/off button is on the bottom right end side!  Imagine, every time you want to move your laptop, it turns itself off!  Very annoying!  I hope the engineer who designed this found another job.

Buena tarde a todos. Hace tres años adquiri un portatil dell inspiron 3421 y el único problema que tengo desde hace un tiempo es que en bluetooth del portatil no reconoce mi celular, y lo he intentado con otros celulares , trato de emparejarlo, le doy aceptar cuando me arroja unos números pero nO EMPAREJA y me bota error en bluetooth periferico, por favor ayudenme. les agradezco.

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 5458 laptop that sporadically flashes a bright light (almost like taking a photo), and also the screen flickers quite frequently while I am working on it.

I have Windows 10 and an Intel Core i5 processor and it comes with a touch screen. What can I do to stop the flashing and flickering? I have taken it twice to a computer repair shop, and they couldn't fix it. Please help! It's driving me crazy.

FedEx just dropped off my new i7-7779 2 in 1 laptop with two drives. A 1Tb HDD and a 128Gb SSD. Can someone explain to me why it is setup to boot from the Hard Disk and not the Solid State Drive. I apparently assumed that operating system and programs are loaded on the uber fast SSD leaving the pokier old Hard Drive to contain the massive amounts of pictures my wife seems to take.

It ask me the admin or system password to unlock the bios password but it not entering the windows so please send me the password for this it as main company documents.

It will be great help for me and my company,please.

Hello Folks,

I have the 1600x900 glossy non 3D/non Touch screen in my L702x. Now I'd like to upgrade to a Non 3D Full HD 1920x1080 matte screen.

Is that hardwarewise possible or do I need a different motherboard for that?

I've had my computer for about a year and 5 months now and I've reset it quite a bit because it would always be slow or the screen would turn black and say "runtime error." I'm close to just saying it's faulty. But anyways, this time I tried to reset it, it said no boot device found. Then I turned it off and turned it back on and the logo would continously loop. It wouldn't even go to sleep, it would just loop for hours. I already tried the online idea about taking everything external off of the laptop and holding the power button but it hasn't worked. PLEEAASEE HELP

The XPS13 is 15 months old and has only been lightly used yet the battery has ceased to charge.  With adapter plugged in it shows 86% charged but not charging.  Charge light flashes orange only.  Battery test lights 1, 3 & 5 all light up.  Will not work on battery but does on adapter.  Dell diagnostics show battery is fine.  BIOS shows battery as needing replacement.  Battery management drivers are up to date.  Disconnecting battery and holding down 'on' button does not change anything.

Dell state that only Dell batteries can be bought from them yet they do not appear to sell an internal battery for this model (BIOS states get new battery from Dell!).

How do I establish whether I need a new adapter, motherboard or battery?  If I need the latter, how do I obtain one?

Any help much appreciated.

I have installed Windows 10 Pro on my trusty Latitude d630, but ashamed by the old BIOS that opens whenever i open my machine.

Anyone to help me on upgrading the BIOS.

Hi guys,

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere (though I haven't been able to find anything). I'm testing a TB16 dock for use with the Latitude 7480 but cannot get it to work with the monitors. it is supplying power to the laptop, but nothing else plugged into it is recognised. I have updated all the available drivers for the 7480 and the BIOS is updated to 1.2.9.  The BIOS was updated first.

When I attempt to install the  Thunderbolt 3 Firmware update, I get an error that "No Thunderbolt controller update supported for this platform ID=0x7A0".  

I have installed the available thunderbolt drivers listed here in addition to the Thunderbolt Software 16.2.52.250

I'm running Windows 10 Pro version 1607 Build 14393.953

Short of uninstalling all the drivers and reinstalling in the right order (again), I'm running out of ideas, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to install my new ssd, but I need to know before proceed how can I change boot sequence to make ssd boot as primary. Can you tell me how to do it or have any tutorial? I accesed to BIOS, but I coudlnt find the way to change boot sequence. I need your help, thanks a lot

Hi,
   3 e d c keys have suddenly stopped working on Dell Vostro Laptop. 

1. I have cleaned the keyboard externally. Issue exists

2. Using USB keyboard, the keys work

3. Updated driver for keyboard. Latest driver already installed. Issue still exists. 

Checked the archives of this forum. Only 1 query posted about 4 years ago, and is unresolved. Hence, submitting fresh query. 

Please help.

Trying to load Windows 10 from SCCM on a Dell 7470, with secure boot on I get the F1, F2, F5 menu with Operating System Loader has no signature. Incompatible with SecureBoot.

Have a desktop doing the same.

Any help appreciated! Google has found me nothing.

Dear Forum Users,

In February, I received my first DELL XPS 15 (9560). The best laptop could have ever gotten.. so I started it up and done all the setup procedures. Many problems were experienced IMMEDIATELY!!! 

1. Very Very laggy! Cannot use chrome or anything at ALL

2. Screen flickering with random colours making screen unviewable and unusable!

3. Extreme battery Drain - Battery drains super, super fast

4. Laptop legit OVERHEATING!! literally too hot to touch, esp on the top left corner where charging is and the bottom middle of the laptop (vents) 

So contacted Dell, and after a few days they agreed to fully refund me the full cost, so I could get another laptop or a newer XPS 15 (w/ fingerprint reader). I then went ahead after weeks of negotiating and returning the laptop, got my money back.

I went ahead to buy another XPS 15 (9560), thinking the first laptop was due to a manufacturing error (cos you know, just came out).... The new laptop came in March - this time with all issues GONE, except 2 problems

1. Battery still drains fast

2. Laptop gets extremely hot at times, past 80 degrees celsius (too hot for the fingers). It feels like the laptop is melting.

SO that was my experience.... my question now is HOW DO WE FIX THE BATTERY DRAIN PROBLEM AND WHY IT GETS TOO HOT

My Laptop shut down normally last night and today it won't turn on. I disconnected the battery and power cable held the power button for 30 seconds. I pluged it back in and there was no change. The power cable light is on and the led power light in the front but there is not sound and the monitor doesn't come on. I tried connecting to another laptop with a networking cable but the other laptop doesn't recognized that the dell is there. I have an Inspiron 5558 that was bought in 2015 and is not longer under warranty. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or what is wrong?

Out of curiosity, by any chance Can I be able to upgrade my dedicated graphic card of my notebook latitude 3470? it came with i7 6th gen, 8GB RAM, and GT 920M which is dedicated.. I want to upgrade my GPU to GTX 960? Please Help...

I know it is not a wise choice but lack of funds forcing me. Thank you :)

I've got a new Inspiron 15 a couple of days ago with the following configuration:

Intel core  i7 7700HQ cpu

16GB DDR4

512GB SSD (bios reports M.2 PCIe ssd-0) -- no other hard drive

Graphics card NVidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti

Screen resolution 3840 x 2160

My problem is that I cannot split the hard disk into 2 partitions nor can i shrink the partition on which windows is installed from within windows. I used both the windows gui (disk management) and the command line program diskpart.

Does anyone have any idea?

Laptop Studio 1737 running windows 10 stops responding and I see PBR Y partition full. After some time the partition disappears and the PC starts responding again. What's happening?
