Dell Vostro 2520 Touch-pad and USB problem

hello,

i am using Vostro 2520 laptop with windows 7 64 bit OS,

my touch pad not working properly,

its working automatic without any touch , after restart it work fine for 2-3 minute then same problem again and again

when it work automatically my USB optical mouse also cant work , it show USB device not recognized ,

but both of my usb mouse and usb port working properly with other devices ,

N.B. when touch-pad cant work properly usb mouse also cant work but modem / pen-drive etc work fine at same time, i have changed to another mouse but result same.

please give me proper solution or tell me what should i do,

Hi, I was trying to look for the hibernation option in Dell Inspiron 11 3162. Someone suggested me to look under the Power option, but I cannot find it.

I am a newbie, so any help would be appreciated.

Hello

I've had a Dell Inspiron 5520 that's grown on me for the last two years. I haven't made any changes to the BIOS in a while(probably a year) until recently when I was needed to change back to Legacy boot mode.  I was able to access the BIOS problem is I found out I can't make any changes until I input the correct password  (the setup is locked).  This is the error it gives on a wrong password input, the BIOS version is 'Dell INc. A13, 11/15/2012'. A master password would be really appreciated(or some pointer to the right direction).

I recently bought

and I get the standard "unrecognized charging adapter" message.  And no charging. My ACCOUNT charger works fine.  Can someone recommend a DC charger that will work?  This laptop is for a boat and 110 is not available.

Sending my 7559 for a repair, how does the process goes exactly for backlight bleeding?

I'm sending my just-bought laptop 7559 to Dell for a repair. The issue was a keyboard that randomly double-typed letters and a back-light bleed that is very noticeable in dark rooms.

The rep helped by sending a box over for a replacement of the screen and keyboard. My question is how exactly does it work? Is it a full replacement of the monitor? Did anyone had experience with that type of service? Usually with FHD panels such as this they should be completely dark without bleeding beside the normal IPS glow, is that correct?

I'm really bummed out about the bleed and typing issue (student).

My Dell XPS 17 L702X just stopped working and now won't boot.

I was using my Dell XPS 17 L702X last night and it suddenly switched itself off with no warning.  I pressed the power button to reboot it but it won't restart.  When the power button is pressed, it lights up, sounds like the HDDs spin up, the row of LEDs on the control strip to the right of the power button light up in sequence, then all go off and it shuts down (all within about 3 seconds).  No sign of life on the screen at all.  I've tried numerous times, both on battery and on mains (including mains with the battery removed). The battery is fully charged (all LEDs light when pressing the test button).

I've removed each of the RAM cards, both in turn and together and even swapped them over.  With all RAM removed, I get the usual two beep code.  Likewise, I've removed/swapped the two HDDs.  I've tested the HDDs on another PC and both are fine.

I've stripped the laptop down to motherboard level, checked connections, removed/tested/replaced the BIOS battery and even re-seated the processor and cleaned the fan, etc.  There's no obvious signs of component damage.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, any ideas on what the problem might be?

Hi,

I have couple problems with my new Dell XPS 15. I will get straight to the points:

*) I have updates all drivers and windows system
*) I have tested the laptop with all of your test tools - and they say it is perfect (passed all tests)
1) I had three blue screens in first week. Another three a week later. Plus once laptop completly hanged.
2) What ever I do laptop is lagging. Every about 15-120seconds it freezes for 3-8seconds.
3) Battery has 90% Health - but it is a new laptop?

Could you help me here. I cannot work with those freezes and I think that battery should be 100% health on a new laptop.

XPS 9550 15" Will NOT install BIOS Update

Hi All -

I am trying to install the XPS_9550_1.2.19 bios update for the XPS 9550 and I get an error message saying "Error validating password" when I try to run the installer. I've tried rebooting several times. None of the hardware has been modified on the device, and all the parts are original, same as they shipped with. The laptop is less than 2 months old. 

The service tag IS set in the BIOS, and there is no BIOS password configured.

Additionally - I am seeing 3 minute boot times, this is not an exaggeration, typically between 180 and 210 seconds from power on to Windows desktop and this is on a CLEAN install of the latest insider preview after wiping the drive. Admittedly I am running the Windows Insider builds, but I have to due to a program I wrote for work that requires the Linux Subsystem for Windows stuff and the released version in the AU version of Windows 10 is missing too many features to make what I made work. I have checked that all drivers are installed and are on the latest versions. This one has the 512GB XG4 Toshiba M2 PCIE SSD.

Inspiron 5721 laptop 8GB running extremely slow

I have had this laptop for a few years and discovered recently that it is running extremely slow. I installed Windows 10 from Windows 7 about 6 months ago.

Best example is during reboot. Each time I reboot the system after performing a system upgrade it will not complete the reboot. I tell the system to "RESTART" , it begins to shut down and then completely stops the restart process. The screen turns black, the restart stops, and my laptop begins to make this "bleep" "bleep" "bleep" sound, about every 2-3 seconds a continuous bleep sound. I'm now forced to power down the system and start over again.

If anyone recognizes this sound and you have any idea what it could be your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

XPS 12 9250 Screen brightness rises unexpectedly to 40%

Hello,

Short description of the issue:

BIOS version: 1.1.25
OS: Windows 10 Pro (OS image from Dell)
Drivers: Latest from Dell

Issue description: Screen brightness rises unexpectedly to 40% when initially below 40%.

It can be reproduced on login or after device rotation. Here is how it happens:

1. On every windows login. Set the brightness bellow 40%, restart and observe that after login the brightness rises to 40%.

2.When device is rotated from horizontal to vertical position, without screen rotation. Just put it on the table and set the brightness to 15% then take it in your hands so the device is in vertical position but the screen(desktop) is not rotated, wait for 5-6 seconds and the screen brightness goes to 40%.


Note: When sensors are disabled from device manager the issue is no longer present but the screen rotation is disabled as well.


I have reinstalled Windows couple of times and tried with different versions of drivers (from Dell and from Intel) but the problem remains.


Can you please help with that issue?

Burning music cd's on Dell optiplex 9010

I have a Dell Optiplex 9010 computer. It has a DVD-rom slot, which will rip music from a CD, but will not burn a new disc.  My last two Dell computers both had a CD writer/burner built in. Evidently this one does not.

What can I do about this?

I would like to perform a system restore back to the image the laptop shipped with. I do not have a SYSTEM RESTORE option at all. I have followed the following and the option finally was available but immediately after clicking on it the laptop just performs a generic reboot to windows 10 and the option is no longer available.

Currently I am having issues during booting where the boot device is inaccessible at times. It usually boots fine on the second time but on occasion I have had to recover the boot record. Any ideas on how I can perform a system restore?

I restore my windows and copied the hdd to ssd.

Now he wont start and in the bios ist boot option priorities are missing.

Any help how to fix this?

Hard Drives Dell Inspiron i7 7000

Just purchased 2 in 1 Inspiron i7 7000 which has a 1tb hard drive and and 120gb SSD.  After set up it seems to have installed Windows on the 1tb hard drive which is designated as C: and the SSD data designated as D: drive is empty.

I tried to speak to Dell - long distance hard to hear conversation - and they seemed to say this was right. And that there was only one hybrid drive with partitions?

Other literature suggests there are in fact two separate drives. And that Windows should be on the SSD.

Is that right?  And if so how do I fix it? There is nothing else of importance on computer so drives can be wiped etc.

Hello, I have a problem with a memory upgrade. I bought two different chips - Transcend and Kingston of 4 gigs and after mount on the 2nd slot of the laptop, the laptop turns on and immediately turns off.

The laptop is originally equipped with 4 gigs and I want to expand.

I called to Dell service and they preferred me to install only one module of 8 gigs but this is not my aim because it's more expensive and I will have one unnecessary module of 4 gigs.

Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 no boot device found

Hi, can anyone help me please? My Inspiron 15R 5537 laptop suddenly went to "checking media: fail" after running diagnostics twice it said my hard drive had failed. I ordered a new Hard drive from Dell which I have just installed, but all I'm getting is "checking media: fail" again, then "no boot device. Press any key to reboot the machine" and it's looping like this. I have run a diagnostic that says everything is ok!? Any ideas anytine? Many thanks in advance
