i recently transferred my ownership to india and now my laptop got a physical damage. the service centre people are saying that the ads warranty covers only in US but i already transferred to india. what should i do now???

Dell Inspiron 3521 Auto restarts with blue screen errors
I am getting blue screen errors after starting the machine, and exception differs everytime
1) SYSTEM THREAD EXEPTION NOT HANDLED
2) KERNEL MODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
3) DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO
I did hardware diagnostics test and all are passed.
Note: when i start in safemode or low resolution it works properly.

Is there a new model that uses the same battery and adapter as the Inspiron M301Z?
I recently bought, well, an adapter and battery for my old Inspiron. Can I use them as reserves in any new Dell laptops? (13.3 inches)

XPS 13 (9360) Kaby Lake
A few days ago I got the new 9360 with a standard configuration. In general a very nice piece of hardware. I do have a problem however (I am guessing it is the network killer driver). Of course I have been updating all available new drivers including 2DNC8_WN32_1.1.61.1297_A01.EXE
I am an online chessplayer using a chessserver (playchess). Since switching to the XPS 13 I have lag times not experienced before. I have been online multiple times and the result is very much the same. Funny with my 'old ASUS UX31' I have no such issues. At home I am connected to the same network, and my internet connection is via coax cable.
Since I thought this could not be true I did another test and set the Dell and the ASUS to do a ping test.
Firstly I pinged simultaneous (2 finger system) the chess server which is a long distance from my location (Australia to Germany) and then I pinged google.
Out of 10 tries the ASUS got 8 times the better ping times then the DELL for both the chess server and google. The ping times for google were of course shorter then the chess server.
Beats me, any idea anyone.

Dell Vostro 2520 Wake on Lan
Hi. I am trying to activate wake on lan function on my Vostro 2520 (Win 7 x64 HP).
I have enabled it on my NIC in advanced options.
But i don’t see this kind of option on bios (i have newest on A11)
My notbook when is shut down i can find it by app WakeMeOnLan (this app i am using and it’s working with my other comuters perfectly)
But i can’t wake my vostro.
Ca any one help me?

Dell XPS 15
Hi,
i have problems with my new Dell XPS 15:
6th Generation Intel Core i5-6300HQ Quad Core
8GB (1x8G) 2133MHz DDR4 Memory
1TB 5400RPM Hard Drive + 32GB Solid State Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M with 2GB GDDR5
From the first start i notice some slowing in general (high memory use without working, boot times too long )
The slowing increse when i connect a monitor through HDMI port.
A clear sign of this, is visible by right-clicking on desktop. Without HDMI, the flag opens instantly, with HDMI connected, the system show the loading icon for 1 second and after opens the flag.
The monitor i use is a Philips 244E1 - Model n° MW1244T
I try to upgrade the drivers of graphics card with last relesed, but nothing is change.
I don't know what i have to do, it's not normal that a machine with this kind of setup have this kind of slowing,can you help me?
It can be a fabrication problem?

Windows 10 Anniversary & USB C Not Working
Just had my Precision 3510 updated by the work technician and I am now unable to use my second monitor via USB C.
Before this, I had a USB C to HDMI adapter that worked without issue but nothing I have tried since will restore it's functionality.
Looking in device manager it shows the port as Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed) but before it was plug and play.
I've uninstalled the USB driver and had it reinstalled with no change via the device manager.
Any help on this?

hey out there, i'm trying to find out if the d3100 docking station work with any machine with usb 3?
i want to be able to have my two monitors, keyboard and mouse plugged into the docking station and then plug it into my xps 15 laptop but i want my partner to be able to use the desktop machine we have while the laptop is away.
if the d3100 supports any machine with usb 3, i can use it as a docking station for both my laptop and desktop ;)

XPS 12 9250 - Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Settings
For my XPS 12 9250, under the power scheme, there is only one setting for Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Settings, which is 6.0W@2.8GHz. This is the only setting for both on battery and plugged in.
The Intel m5-6y54 has a TDP of 4.5w and can be configured up to 7w or down to 3.5w. I believe in other mobile systems, users have the ability to select a lower power mode while on battery to extend battery life (at expense of performance).
Given that the XPS 12 has short battery life (when comparing to its peers), shouldn't it make sense for Dell to enter a setting within the chipset thermal framework to allow the cpu to operate at a lower power setting for longer battery life?
I certainly would want that option. Is that something that Dell can implement?

Secondary HDMI Monitor Flickers
I have an XPS 15 9550 with 4k Touch Screen. I use it at work and hook it up to a 1980x1020 monitor via the HDMI port. Pretty standard.
However, I've noticed that once in awhile the monitor will flicker to black for about a second and then pop back up. Annoying but not frustratingly annoying. This generally only happens a few times a day, but some days it will do it like 5 times in under two minutes which is frustratingly annoying.
And even worse, sometimes it will flicker to black and just stay black. The windows I had open on my monitor will jump over to the laptop screen and I have to unplug the HDMI cable from the laptop, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
This shouldn't be happening. I've thought that maybe it is because I need a 4k monitor to pair it properly, but that doesn't seem right. Besides, I'm not wanting to spend $400 quite yet.
Any idea what's going on? Do I have a bad laptop? From what I know, I've updated everything (Bios, Graphics drivers, etc.). I've tried a different monitor and a different HDMI cable - no difference. Same issue on all.

Inspiron 1545 no display on laptop, external works fine
I know this topic has been discussed before but none seem to be the same as my situation.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545. When turned on I get nothing on my display. Connecting to an external display works fine. Here are the current steps I have taken without any results:
1. Tried the memory swap thing....no display.
2. Checked fuse on motherboard. OK
3. Installed new cable. No change.
4 Installed 3 known good displays....same part number that was in laptop as original.
5. Installed 2 new good motherboards....no change.
6. This is an LED monitor so no backlight or inverter.
7. Removed keyboard....pressed on all the "known" areas that people have mentioned on this forum.
Connect is to an external monitor and all is good. Try the FN key an the F1 no change.....Sure could use some more ideas as I am completely out.

Dell Customer Support is a NIGHTMARE! (Vent)
I bought a used Dell laptop from a reputable vendor, but unfortunately the admin password in the BIOS was set. A week ago I tried asking Dell support if there was a way to remove or access the function.
"Oh yes sir, we can do that!" was their reply. "But you have Business Services, you have to speak with Consumer Services. Here is their number."
The next agent says, "Oh yes, we can do that but you have to speak to the people at Out-of-Warranty Services. Don't worry. This one time service call will be free."
The next agent says, "Oh yes sir. We can do that but you must speak to the Canadian Services group."
The next agent says, "Oh yes sir. We can help you, but you must register online and provide a receipt as proof of purchase, and a picture of your service tag."
I go online, create an account, have my Dell recognized by the website by installing an app, and get the required documents and start all over again.
After going through all the transfers from one agent to another, I find someone that finally seems to be able to help me. I email him the documents. The account that I created seems to be completely inconsequential as they ask me for more registration, and details. We mess around with establishing me as a Dell client for 2 hours (of a day of vacation).
He finally tells me that he has a password that I can use to access the BIOS settings. I reboot and try it, and of course, it doesn't work. Several hours making phone calls, getting required information all for absolutely nothing. I hate Dell. I will always remember that Dell=****. And I'm still stuck with this piece of junk that I can't so much as change the boot order. Anybody want a laptop real cheap?

How can I get the setting so that when my end user logs on the number pad is accessible without having to press "numlock" every time? Is there a BIOS setting to change this?

I am from Pakistan and I recenlty puchased Dell Inspiron 17 7778. Now the Shopkeeper said your device comes with 1 year International warrnty! After unboxing i put service tag of laptop on dell official warranty check , Website confirms that product is in fact Inspiron 17 7778 but Warranty start and expiration dates are not showing as well not the country to which it is shipped , So i connected shop keeper again and he said Dell international warranty is updated within 3 to 7 days after purc6ahse ?
So is he lying , Plz tell so I take some proper action thanks

laptop power cord, Inspiron 15, 5000
I'm not sure where to post this. I bought it in July.
The power cord which was original received a "we cannot determine that the power X is part of Dell. Or something very similar. And the sales company sent out a new power cord.
Now, 3 months later, I got the same comment; except that this time, the light on the front edge began blinking yellow. Or orange. I checked the cord completely and the plug-in at the wall that it uses. All is well, except that now, the light informing me it's connected no longer lights except at the very beginning of the boot process.
I read of various issues online about this and nothing was similar.

After upgrading BIOS from v6 to v12, laptop battery gets drained very fast
Dear forum users,
I have a big problem as my Dell Inspiron15 3000 series laptp started to behave strangely since I updated the bios from the version on the dell drivers and support website.
I upgraded to the V12 version Dell Inspiron 3442,3542,5748 System BIOS Version: A12 ,A12, when originally the laptop came with version A06.
However, since the upgrade, my laptop battery drains after I have switched the laptop off. Therefore I'm having all kinds of issues starting the laptop in the morning and I am afraind this behaviour will lead to a disfunctioning laptop rather soon.
Downgrading the bios version to version A06 is not possible as the utility exists with the message that Dell doesn't recommend downgrading the BIOS version.
What can I do?
