XPS 1530 GPU crashed?

Hi all, appreciate in advance any help you can provide.

Today my 5 year old XPS1530 froze with a distinctly video chip look. The screen locked with all sorts of strange lines, etc. After rebooting, no display on the LCD. I can increase or decrease the backlighting, but no display on screen. I here windows boot, I can enter my password and I can tell everything is happening correctly, I just can't see it.

I connected to my TV via HDMI. I get a very low res display. 640x480 and no option to change it. In advanced settings, Adapter tab, everything is listed as "unavailable".   Ie- chip type, DAC type, adapter string, bios information- all say unavailable.

Then below that it says:

Total Available Graphics Memory: unavailable

Dedicated Video Memory: n/a

System Video Memory: n/a

Shared Video Memory: n/a

So what do you guys think?  And what should I do? Thanks everybody.
