Can I upgrade the N 7260 wireless card on my Inspiron 15 7537 with the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265?
I would like to upgrade the speed of my wireless network card on my Inspiron 15 7537. Intel says wireless-ac 8265 has the same M.2 form factor. Can I upgrade the N 7260 with this card as a simple plug and play replacement?

Latitude 3440's screen backlight stay on even after shutdown
My Latitude 3440 recently have this problem. After shutdown, meaning complete shutdown (no fan were running, no heat, no power light, nothing is running), but the screen's backlight (specifically the bottom right one) was on and shining. I didn't notice it until recently, so I don't know exactly the cause of the problem.
If I touch the battery and move it a little, the light starts flickering (not on and off, but more like brighter and dimmer each time). If I completely remove the battery, the light starts fading then turned off. If I plug in the cord (even without battery), it will come back up. I don't notice any difference in brightness between with the cord and with battery.
The laptop's display is normal when running.
I suspect that this is a hardware problem that I need to go maintenance, correct? Or is this a bios problem?
Any advice would be great. Thank you guys in advance.

plugged in, not charging + screen goes black for seconds
I have a dell latitude E5440 Windows 10. A couple of days ago I noticed that my battery was plugged in but not charging. I plugged it in another building and in a certain time (probably half an hour) it started charging. The same has happened in all plugs. I updated BIOS. I checked the setup (pressed f2 on startup) and the AC adapter wasn't being recognized. Yesterday it started charging immediately. Checked the setup again, not it says: AC adapter - 90W. However, whenever the laptop is plugged in (and this has been going on for a couple of days now), the laptop sometimes flickers, the screen goes completely black or has multiple colors. This mostly happens when I press something, but not necessarily. My ac adapter is also plugged into a US to EU power adapter, if that matters. I am afraid to damage the laptop. Do you think there's something wrong with the AC adapter?

My laptop shutsdown after an hour and in event viewer i am getting these warnings; The speed of processor 5 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.

SSL errors after motherboard replacement
I'm getting all sorts of SSL errors after replacing my laptop's motherboard. Everything I've read led to date/time being out of sync but that doesn't look like my issue. The BIOS date/time is correct (UTC) and even after setting the time (under Linux) with ntp and hwclock I'm still getting SSL errors.
I've tried two different Linux distributions via bootable usb sticks. Same issues. HTTP works fine and everything else works fine. The only issue is under HTTPS with SSL.
My laptop is a Dell Precision M3800.
I have no idea what to try next. Thoughts? Thx!

DELL INSPIRON 7537 - PROJECT SCREEN
Hello,
project/second screen is not working on my laptop (Win + P).
Devices:
-Dell Inspiron 7537(i5-4200u)
-NVIDIA GT750m
I was testing on different version of Windows (8.1 and 10) and also on different drivers of graphics cards.(INTEL and NVIDIA)
On the same laptop I got linux and there second screen is working.
Any sugestions?

Dell Xps 15 9560 overheating quickly.
So I have a Dell XPS 15 9560 as my school laptop and it's relatively new I've only been using it for a few months, but recently my laptop is overheating extremely quickly. Ex (I was using google drive with no other windows open, yet it started heating up and the fans stared spinning the batter life is usually only 4 hours when using drive even though it used to last about 6 hours). Also I play League in my free time but every couple of minutes the fps just drops down to 25 from 60 (It can go up to about 150 but I have it capped at 60) and lasts for about 1 minute.
Also if you were wondering I did update my bios and restarted the laptop a few times, it did nothing.

No hyperthreading in new motherboard
I bought a replacement motherboard for the Inspiron 17r 7720 (CN-072P0M), but the new motherboard does not have any options to allow hyperthreading for my i7 in spite of being the same part number (CN-072P0M).
Does anybody know why or how I can enable this?
EDIT: The BIOS is the newest version (A17). The CPU is the same from the prior motherboard. In the previous motherboard, Windows detected 8 CPUs and Linux detected 4 CPUs and 2 threads per CPU. In the new motherboard, Windows detects 4 CPUs and Linux detects 4 CPUs with 1 thread per CPU.
The motherboard is the only thing different.

Intel has major security flaws in the Management Engine. You need to read the Intel emergency memo from a few hours ago.
In the memo, Intel links a tool to check if your system is vunerable.
Right now neither Dell nor Intel has posted updated software to remedy this critical issue for the XPS 9560 or 9550.

Many problems with NEW Precision 7520 (09.2017)
My new laptop Dell like box with bugs:
1. Trackpoint freeze sometimes. I can't use this for navigation. I try reinstall driver, but without positive result.
2. USB ports scratch all the connectors that are inserted into them:
3. Video fans sometimes very noise. After reboot BIOS reported about problem.

Performance issue with Inspiron 13 2 in 1
I am facing performance issue with my Inspiron 13 . I am getting high CPU usages with very high memory usages (always above 50%) also disk usages is always above 60% reaching 100% very quickly. In between fan kicking off .. Attached some of the screenshot I captured.
Not many software installed ..only software installed is Visual studio and IntelliJ.
Any help will be appreciated .. if not resolved I am thinking to send this back to dell.

New Hard Drive / Clean installation

Please be patient as this is the first time using this format of communication.
I have a Dell 3450 Corei5/ Dell Windows 7 Professional. 4MB ram.
Problem is my WD hard drive is almost critical. (2 restart in safe mode to date) Confirmed disk condition with WD “Data Lifeguard”
I need help to do a complete clean installation. I have elected to install a Samsung 850evo / 500GB drive. I have had this computer new since 2011. The Dell Resource Media Disk has 42 drivers dated 1/21/2011. (many if not all will have to be updated)
First I would like to confirm if my Bios is set to the correct settings. (I did the Bios A13 update from Dell’s Support Assist. (If I may make a comment on Support Assist…… As usual I entered my Tag # and Assist had listed the A13 and A07 Bios but I have a A13 why list the A07?????) This leaves me with little confidence having to update my Drivers on the original Dell Media Disk. Sorry for the rambling.
Please let us address my first question. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I will be asking lots of questions.

STUDIO 1557 WON'T POWER UP
STUDIO 1557 WONT POWER UP WHEN PLUGGED IN EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT BATTERY. AC POWER SUPPLY WORKS FINE AND IS LESS THAN 1YR OLD. CHARGES AND RUNS my LATTITUDE JUST FINE. laptop was purchased in summer or 2011, BATTERY IS ORIGINAL . LAST HARDWARE/ BATTERY DIAGNOSIS WAS 8-15-17. HERES RESULTS: 1. Designed capacity 66 2. Current charge 100% 3. Current charge 3.43 Wh 4. Full charge capacity 3.43Wh 5. Designed capacity 5.20Wh. I dont know what Wh stands for, but 3.43 is 66% of 5.2. I do know basic math. To make a long story boring(LOL), my ?'s are 1. Will this laptop power up and operate with a bad or failed battery?. 2. Will it power up and run with no battery?( I have never tried this) 3.is it most likely the battery is the problem, if not what would it be? power button? Alienware 17 R4 setting System/HDD Password in locked BIOS
I am using the lattest BIOS Version 1.20 for my Alienware 17R4
Even so I have set a admin password and the BIOS is locked, it still can be accessed in read only mode.
But it is still possible to set a system and a hdd password. And even save the changes.
So despite haveing set an admin password which ist supposed to prevent changes to the system,anybody can press F2, set a system or hdd password an lock me out of my own system ?

truble with My new DELL laptop
I just got this laptop a Inspiron 15 3000. I been having nothing but truble with it. The win 10 is all messed up and copying things takes me 5 min to do because of win 10. How do I get win 7 on it?

Inspiron 15 Gaming 7567 wifi / internet dropping out and other issues
I bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago, but I've been having issues with it on the wifi at home.
every so often the internet drops out, but it is still connected to the wifi, and I can still connect to other devices on my local network.
I've tried updating the drivers of the network, with both dell versions, and Intel versions for the card with no success.
It appears that disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't help reconnect, neither does connecting to a different access point, or changing from my 2.4ghz or 5ghz networks. Time will eventually bring it back, as will restarting the PC.
If it's any benefit, my home network is a tp-link archer D7, and I've also got a ubiquity access point connected as well
Strangely the computer works fine on my work network.
And on a last note, is there any known issues with the 7567 bsoding / restarting at randomly? i've had a few times I've seen it BSOD, or come back to it after some time, and it had restarted.
