Intermittent Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse on XPS15 9550

The Microsoft Designer Keyboard and Mouse operates very intermittently. I notice this most frequently when the XPS15 dims or turns off the display but it can also happen spontaneously while I'm moving the mouse pointer around. I think both mouse and keyboard stop working at the same time. I have found that sometimes, if I use the trackpad to move the mouse pointer around, the Designer mouse starts working again. If not, it appears to not update the mouse pointer indefinitely or until I reboot the XPS15.

I've spent time pairing and unpairing the mouse. Pairing pairing fails maybe 10-20 % of the time.

I found this post: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1300323. I don’t have a Dell Wireless 1830 802.11ac shown as a Network Adapter, but there is a Dell Wireless 1830 Bluetooth 4.1 LE in Bluetooth. It doesn’t have any settings for Collaboration:

Where has this setting moved? Or, does anyone have any other suggestions?

LATITUDE E 6500 will not boot up - cannot pass Dell logo. Please can anyone help?

I power the laptop on and the Dell logo is there with a blue bar at the bottom of the screen slowly moving left to right. When it has filled up the block, the screen flashes to a black screen with small white writing at the top and very quickly back to the Dell logo and thereafter flashes between the 2 screens.

If I power off and restart, the flashing continues.  If I wait an hour or so,  it starts again with the Dell logo and bar beneath slowly filling up and then continues with the flashing alternating screens.

I have tried removing and replacing the battery.

I have hit F12 and gone through all the diagnostics but there are no error codes.

I am running Windows 7 and do hope this is not caused by my inadvertently clicking on a Windows 10 popup! 

Any advice gratefully received.

So, lets start this off with, I do not know a lot about computers. However, the laptop I bought has a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5.

Unfortunately, when I hit the windows button and R, and used the DxD tool, and went to display. I was told my card is an intel HD graphics 530

I am very disappointed with Dell's after-sales service!

I bought an Alienware laptop from Funan DigitalLife Mall in Singapore 2 weeks ago. Laptop was delivered just yesterday (3 days delayed from expected delivery date) and it was working fine until this morning. The laptop wont turn on!! I'm pretty sure the AC adapter is working since I can see light from the adapter. The power button has light too but laptop is not turning on!

I called Dell tech support and they've instructed me useless tests. Nothing good is happening! He actually sounded unsure of what he was instructing me. Ending, he just helped me to log a ticket for onsite support to come on Monday or Tuesday. I even contacted the store where I ordered the item, and tell them how *** their service is from delayed delivery and now faulty product! 

I followed your troubleshooting instructions from this link: https://www.dell.com/Support/Article/us/en/19/SLN301252 and it actually worked but after shutting down again, the same problem occurs. I suspect this is battery issue!

Very angry!! How does Dell do QA before shipping out these products??

I honestly don't trust that the onsite tech will be able to resolve this issue. Let's see.

If you need to replace this faulty product with a new one, please do so now!.

Don't wait for me to escalate this issue to Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore.

Dell Latitude e 7270 Keyboard Fn Lock with num pad issue

Hello,

My dell latitude has no issue enabling the Function lock (Fn + Esc), when using all function keys, but it does not lock for the number pad. I.e. in order use the number pad number continuously I have to hold down the function key will typing 0-9.

If anyone has resolved this issue please let me know the solution, many thanks !

im extremely angry right now. i got a laptop alien ware 14 through rent to own. i knew it would be used and that didn't bother me. but things didn't work. so i sent it back and they sent it to you to fix. and it came back 2 weeks later with nothing on it fixed. but they wanted to charge me to send it back you again. and i dont have money so i dealt with the lose ports and only one headphone working when i have headphones plugged in. and sometimes they wouldn't work. every port was loose but i couldn't do nothing about. and now just now my pc charger port started clicking when i plugged it in and now my pc wont charge and is dead. i would like to thank you both for no help at all. thanks.

Does the warranty for Inspiron 5555 laptops cover dead pixels? It looks like I have 1-2 that are dead close the middle of the screen and am worried that this may get worse with time.

My computer's hard drive has malfunctioned. When I boot it of course it says "No Bootable Devices - strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility. Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics." I know I can't do anything to fix the faulty drive now and I need a new one but my computer is still under warranty ending on July 16th. So, all I really need to know is what number do I need to call in order to fix my computer? My computer model is a 7348 Inspiron 13 by the way.

XPS 13 - Quiet static noises?

Hello!

I recently purchased a Dell XPS 13 Touch a few days ago from Costco (online), and I'm really enjoying the laptop so far. An issue that I've encountered after a few hours of using this laptop was a quiet static-y noise on the left side of the laptop (the speaker side). I'm not sure where this sound is being emitted from. I have tried muting my speakers just in case it was an audio issue, but the static still prevailed. This "static" gets a little louder as my usage increases, usually by watching streams or playing games. Can anyone explain what this noise is, and if it's normal? Here is a video recording of the static noise, taken by my phone. You might have to increase your volume levels in order to hear it properly.

Inspiron 8600 running xp black screen but torch shone on screen & can vaguely see

Start up then screen goes black before I even get chance to log in. If I shine a torch on the screen I can see it is working but impossible to do anything. I think it needs some new part(s) installed to fix this (I think). I know it's an old no longer supported system but I use it to run the TV guide, play some language cd's I have installed & Google some info. I think 1 item is n inverter ? Thanks 4 any help

Dell Inspiron 15 7559 usb transfer problems

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 laptop about a week or so ago and several days later realised some odd USB transfer behaviour. Tried all 3 different usb3.0 ports, same problem.

(Bios was updated immediately after cloning hdd to m.2 ssd and all drivers updated.)

(I swapped the 1TB hybrid drive with a Samsung 850EVO and installed an m.2 Samsung 850EVO) (OS and most files on the m.2 drive)

External hard disk: Transfer of large sizes or even a single large file (GoPro video near 4gb) occurred rather erratically (fluctuating between 90+ and 40+ mb/s) and eventually reaching 0mb/s and pausing there for quite awhile before transferring again at fluctuating speeds, sometimes reaching 0 and pausing again. File transfer completes eventually, but after a ridiculously long time.

The same hard disk works fine with my desktop (writes at a steady 90+mb/s)

External ssd: transfers for awhile before reaching 0 and giving an error code. (works fine with my desktop) (error code: 0x8000745D)

Thumb drive: writes fine at 90-100+mb/s, just like my desktop.
 

Notes: File transfer problems mentioned above were from both the m.2 drive and 2.5mm drive, internal transfer from the m.2 to the 2.5mm Samsung 850EVO ran fine. Samsung Magician installed, problems persist with RAPID either enabled or disabled.

 

Solutions I've tried but have not made a difference:

Chkdsk /f /r

Booting into safe mode (transfer problems existed even in safe mode)

Uninstalling and reinstalling usb drivers

Disable/enable USB legacy support and powershare

Clean reinstall of windows

Disable/enable Intel rapid storage

 

All out of ideas on how to fix this.

Hi, I bought a

Inspiron 7568 2-in-1

late last year. I noticed that when I hit certain keys like the quote ' and doublequote '' keys they don't actually display on the screen until I the next key. Plus if I certain combinations like quote plus a c I get this displaying ç Seems like the keyboard is mapped to a foreign language - perhaps French. How do I get it to behave like a proper English speaking keyboard. I've searched through the settings for hours and haven't managed to find a setting. My Language is set to English (united kingdom).

Hi 

I'm trying to revive an old dell inspiron 1300 that's been stuck in a cupboard for over 3 years.  Won't fire up, apart from briefly, then shut itself down due to low battery (reason it went into the cupboard in the first place!).

It's plugged in to power supply.

Would a new battery sort this problem, or should it still work when mains powered even with a dead battery?  I don't want to invest in a new battery if the problem is something else.

I am six months out of warranty, and am having the same issue. My wife called two times during the warranty and she downloaded drivers to fix it. I wasn't using the laptop at the time, and didn't know it was a continuing issue.

Now I'm the one who uses it and its a constant issue. 1,q,a,z, cap lock, and the others on the left side just don't work at random times. It seems to happen most of the time on wake up (for me).

I have read the forms, and am blown away that Dell seems to be ignoring the issue. I wonder if this is way my job stopped using dell products. 

Anyone who has replaced the keyboard themselves had the issue after?

Hi, I've gotten error messages that have varied between these two errors every time my computer boots up. It runs Auto repair automatically, and I've had a few instances where it has gone to a full scan in BIOS. Each time it scans I get one of these error messages, and when the computer didn't go into BIOS and continued into the screen where I could choose what to do as the operating system couldn't start, it claimed that there were no factory settings that I could return it to to fix the problem. I was simply wondering if this is a problem with my hard drive, and if it could be fixed.

I am working on an Inspiron 3721 and am trying to boot to the USB Thumbdrive in UEFI mode. .I have turned off Secure Boot, disabled Legacy, Boot List Option set to <UEFI>.  I have added USB as a Boot Option .  The File Path System is "Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(1D10)/Usb(0, 0)/Usb(1, 0)/HD(part1,Sig3DDE4903).  The File Path is "F:/Isolinux/"  and I have tried "F:/Isolinux/BOOT".

What am I doing wrong?  The Thumbdrive is a bootable drive.

XPS L501X no screen after bios update freeze

hello I just update the bios on a L501x laptop  after 20 minutes waiting the screen was frozen no mouse movement

is there a way to recover since when I power on I see a black screen but fan spinning ?

I used laptop in the morning, when I went to use it again in the afternoon nothing.  Power light comes on for a second and fan kicks in then nothing.  Battery light shows while charging.  I've taken battery out and held down power switch for 30 sec. nothing.  Any help would be appreciated.
